I guess the goon problem is a bit over the top. .5 ahould still be a bit safe. Now they are calling it a jihad? Against players? Not the macro farmers that are the problem.
As far as economy? it only eill make the farmers richer and the hulk builders richer till they cant afford the resourses to build the ones being lost. So then stale mate as the goons will not have targets or be able to buy ships to fly.
Pretty much my opinion on it. i clam tobe no authority on it.

you mean move to minmatar space.
But they smell funny. Much love the the Minmatar people out there.
But yes, if you don't want to get killed, just leave Caldari space. I already am.
Meh...I've wanted to get out of Caldari space for ages. But for some reason CCP in their infinite wisdom will not let me haul rigged ships without losing the rigs. So in order to relocate somewhere 30j away I'd need to move 7+ ships manually, one at a time.
That comes to around 390 jumps all told...no thanks.

No..you are missing the point. The economy has NOT been touched.
Few guys have lost their ships, that is all. Show me some stats to indicate any impact on economy.
Same old rubbish, people crying to get game changed because they got blown up.
1) We're talking about two different things. No, there has been no effect on the actual economy. You are correct. I'm talking about the setting, the "background effects" Miners are getting killed in territory the Amarr, Caldari, and Gallente governments say the control and protect. The Minmatar are being spared. Why aren't the Amarr, at the very least, having absolute fits and striking back? THINK STORYLINE. The Defiants attack the Amarr, and the 7th Fleet tries to flatten them. Why aren't they getting involved in this?
2) Goons claim to have killed quite a few...and I think I will look for exact numbers. However, the numbers shouldn't matter. That any have been attacked at all, and the loud declaration of purpose, should be enough to be view as a challenge to the authority of the various governments in their own territory.
3) *sigh* Your bleat about crying is as tired and over-used as the calls for the nerf-stick from the other side. The Goons have in my opinion stepped over the line in a way that relates directly to the STORYLINE of the game. To me, they seem to be challenging the very governments that run empire space, and those governments seem content to let the Goons do as they please. I am not calling for a nerf, I'm calling for CCP to have the various governments respond to that challenge!

Mine in tanked battleships, or move to Mini space. I don't see a problem.

PS. The Jihad swarm, praise be to Allah, has killed over 770 exhumers. If it is Allah's will that 770 more are killed, then praise be him.
PSS. Your tears...I love them...they are so sweet...PRAISE BE TO ALLAH. LONG LIVE THE JIHAD SWARM
Yeah, because tanked battleships are so much more effective - that'll get a lot of support from the mining community that have spent months training up to Exhumers 5. Though I wouldn't mind if you convinced people to do it, as I've got a Rohk BP. I also have no intention of moving my mining character 30+ jumps from the rest of my corp.
PS You Goons have been busier than I thought. Wow. Do you get some prize for killing the most exhumers in the corp? OR is it by number? "Kill 50 exhumers and get a free pup tent!"
PSS No tears here, I fear. Besides, I know the truth...the reason you are exempting Minmatar space is that you are secretly in cahoots with them, trying to lure more people into their territory! *puts on tinfoil hat and starts dialing the Amarr Navy*

I had a graph of trit and nitro iso prices, when you connect the dots with a black marker-pen it spells out JIHAD IMPACT.
Actually, that's probably partially just the way the market was moving already... Even though the EvE market moves on internet time, it's still a large and ponderous thing. You won't really see clearly the changes effected by GS this soon, and ship prices is pretty much the top of the foodchain so your vagabond example is moot.
Losing one or two hulks won't scare away most miners... But when that turns into 5 or 6, they will consider moving or quiting mining. (And as a side-thought; will this be the rise of the minmatar trade hub, as availability of minerals/ice increases?) ---

At the risk of drawing goon attention, I have been mining 8 hours a day the past few days and not even seen a goon in local... Herds of hulks get attacked, a lone hulk in the middle of nowhere does not get attacked.
People think market PVP should be easier than pewpew PVP and they are just dead wrong. If CCP ever makes any system in the entire game 100% safe and sells out the game is the day that 50% of the players quit; even if all the ganked hulk pilots quit that is only what 400 accounts?
I mean, what negative PR? "Hey John, I just quit EVE because I got killed by another player and CCP did not stop them, you should quit too and tell all your friends to never play it either" yeah anyone that that convinces we are better off without.

Explain how that works.
In my experience the suicide ganker lands on you out of warp and owns you in about 20 seconds with smartbombs. Whatever the case guards are very unlikely to be able to drop the ganker before CONCORD does anyway. You'd need so many people guarding you to stop it that you'd go broke just paying them for their time (if you could even round up enough in the first place).
Besides, the only thing more boring than mining is guarding miners. You just will not get many people to do it on anything like a consistent basis. If you do not believe me try it...ask your mates to guard you mining everyday for 3-5 hours/day for a month and get back to me on how well that works for you. -------------------------------------------------- "Of course," said my grandfather, pulling a gun from his belt as he stepped from the Time Machine, "there's no paradox if I shoot you!"

Goonies are just Bob alts, and everybody knows that bob are just dev alts, so the devs are using their characters alts to get high sec miners to move to the least crowded space- minmatar. (well amarr esentially is, but screw you)

So, after thinking about this for a while, what if the devs had the game mechanic adapt to add more realism to the universe.
Suggestion: run news stories on the goon invasion and put Concord in a High alert status giving more security.
As parts of the player base, like goon, come up with innovative content the rest of us can support and condemn the actions through RP. imho -- we can adapt and play along and the dev team or others at CPP should also be in the RP action via news and minor adjustments to NPC activity.

I love it when pubbies bring this up because recycling alts to avoid sec status hits(like using alts to take the hits to summon CONCORD) is a bannable offense. Blowing up some idiot miner's hulk is one thing, getting their account banned is beyond price. |
