If you can fly on a team with an inty, go for a friggy and experience that highly developed sense of teamwork that some people mistake for speed . OVERVIEW Kor-Azor was the starting region for the eighth race of the fifth season last Sunday, the first seasonal event since war broke out between the nations. Competitors and audience alike were aware of its impact with a notable absence by some of the familiar names in the League. Even a couple bold racers chose to brave the hostile territory despite plenty of hostile resistance. The first and only confirmed casualty of the event was Maru Sha in her Rifter as she approached waypoint one in the high security system of Andrub. The Amarr Navy quickly swarmed down upon her with a small raiding fleet to dispatch her vessel the first time. Despite the odds, Ms. Sha continued through the entire event despite finishing nearly an hour after the last pilot, taunting the Navy at the final two waypoints before finishing at Amarr. Another war, almost equally bitter was fought between Venture Racing Team and KanunuÆs Vorpal Bunny Racing squad. The victim in this bloody bout was second place interceptor contender Elsebeth Rhiannon, who found her vessel destroyed at the hands of KanunuÆs Vengeance. Although unconfirmed, reports indicated she was destroyed but continued to compete and finish second to last place in front of Frontal Impact team leader Irongut. Words were exchanged. Takashi Kurosawa had plenty of challenges this event battling toe to toe against Rawr Cristina, Dirtside newcomer and sly Raptor pilot. Gaining an early lead on the Intaki speed baron, he quickly filled the gap and threatened to pass her at the last moment until they reached the last waypoint where two identical containers awaited them. Heading to the separate containers, Rawr got lucky finding the right one, securing her first place finish ahead of him, with Quintrala slipping quietly into third place. Dirtside team captain Darina Rea secured yet another first place finish in the assault frigate class, landing herself a mere six points behind Dougalar for the individual title while threatening at the team level for ownership of the AF title. Although Dougalar has odds to win, speculation is intense as analysts try to predict the outcome. Will Dougalar defend her title or will Dirtside claim a top slot in the League?

I am in the belief the killmail has been forwarded to Gyra, but since it apparently has not arrived, I will resend tonight once I get to my log. The description of the events themselves is accurate. But words on the Racing League comms were not so much exchanged over the incident as such - everyone by now probably knows that the only thing keeping me from using tactical force is the Venture charter which frowns upon such things. Well, that and the fact that there really isn't an interceptor fit that can both race and fight, but I digress. My point was, and it still stands, that with this aggression, Kanunu really gained exactly nothing other than a common pirate would. There was no racer on the field of his team that could have have even theoretically gained anything from it. Unless of course you buy into the paranoia theories that Bunnies are the "aggression team" of Dragonstar, designed to be able to get DS competitors out of the race without DS itself facing the retaliation of other teams. I would indeed, as I have done in the past - not to Elsebeth in particular, but to my most direct competitors in general. I might not have done so personally but I would most certainly not rob my team (and Jude in particular) of the possibility of engagement on the track just to take advantage of another team's charter. Now it is true and painfully obvious that Kanunu is a member of the Dragonstar corporation, and we all know he used to be in my own team. However, he is now doing his own thing in his own team; I have zero authority over him and zero influence on his choice of strategies and targets. Now I realise Elsebeth wasn't making an accusation - we've discussed this among ourselves - but to any sceptics or paranoids out there you may want to consider the following: if I wanted to have an "aggression team" out there on the tracks, I wouldn't waste their energy on random fights. I would be having them make surgical strikes against my most direct competitors. Now look at Vorpal's targets along the entire season. I wouldn't be wasting resources like that. If I had an aggression team out there I promise you I wouldn't be fighting for a second place; I'd be fighting to get the title of Champion back to Dragonstar. K. Roughly thirty minutes before the event, fees will be collected and information will be gathered from the participants. But, anyway, I wish you all luck and I'll watch and see if season 6 is run on Saturday evenings instead of Sundays... Gyra let me have a run at the Kor Azor track, and while it wasn't race conditions, I ran the track first time solo in 56 minutes in my executioner, with plenty of room for improvement. A pivotal event in the League as the season winds down, racers were tasked with traversing this chaotic region from The Bleak Lands to the neighboring Republic space in Heimatar. In addition wandering bands of Blood Raiders, the track itself threw a surprise for the participants with the inclusion of dummy waypoint containers made to give the illusion of a dual waypoint location. However, the real obstacle met the racers at the notorious Amamake system, where Republic militia members fired indiscriminately at the pilots rushing towards dual point nine and ten. Several craft were destroyed before the official call to skip them was declared. With just one event left in the season, the tension between individuals and teams is palpable as the bid for championship titles become an immediate reality with the end drawing so close. Well, I do look at the tables and make judgments according to what I see there. Previously not only did you, as a team, have no reason for coming after me (not that it stopped your previous team back in Season 3 when Ms Blackheart shot me down, but anyway), you were also busy fighting your own fight for that AF title. Now that it seems unlikely-- or does it? Will Frontal Impact roll with the punch and be satisfied with second, or will they try to make a move on you just because they can? We will both have to wait and see, but as I was saying, now that you have the upper hand in AFs it sort of frees you to mess with me for that second place in Ceptors. And I'm quite aware your team like to take some gambles; I remember Race10, Season4. Or maybe after all you are simply happy to have the rookie of the year manage a third place overall and I'm just being old and cynical and paranoid. Mr. Avarr mentions previous mass destructions, but those were perpetrated by non-racers, as far as I can tell; this time it was racer against racer. It makes for action-movie type holo coverage, but quite frankly it was very confusing to follow who was in which position during the broadcast I'm still not entirely sure who finished where, except for the first two or three racers to dock. And of course, we'd have to wait until official results to know of any disqualifications over technicalities. C. Starbright
