Are there only carebears running for CSM??? Industrialism, solo players, missions, care bears, empire markets... yes eve have these features too, but the only candidate who promotes the harsher side of EVE is Jade Constantine!!
I hope CCP let a choice be blank, so we can vote for "Empty seats". Because I want to have the choice of not Electing people who will turn EVE into a new NGE..
More True EVE candidates! PLEASE?????
I live in 0.0, what hardly is the carebear style of life. But I'm fighting for the good here, so if according to you all anti evil players are carebears, then I am one.
Juwi Kotch
I am always sceptical to "elite groups" with too much of a say in a game. It can be destroying. Take SWG which I played for over 2 years got ruined by a group of players who got too much of a say against the better of the game. Look where it is now.
It is not that I have anything against the candidates. But when I read they want to promote "industry, carebear, soloplay, missions.. - without mentioning PvP with a word" I see blood red. Sorry..

It could be a wise choice to give a vote for the Omber Zombie.

Agreed on every single point. His latest answers were spot on.

So will CCP release any information after CSM meetings saying what was discussed?
If they do, then we will be able to see who brings up what issues, and if someone (or several people) seem to just be touting whatever it is they want, and not actually things that a lot of people want to see addressed, we will know who to not vote for in re-elections.

I'll vote for who I think is the best candidate. Seems like a lot of work to find out who is running and why we should vote for them. All these "Visit my web-site" is sortive crappy.
But I will vote reguardless, and in no way will I vote for any of those guys that only log in to ruin the game... goons is what they call themselves right?
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you and... scouts, logistic ships, people to web you, alts with bonuses, not fitting nice gear, avoiding trafic hubs, etc... easy right?? |

Only carebears? More True Eve candidates?
I am no carebear but I can also see the big picture. I've always been pretty much against "opinions" because people find it hard to differentiate an opinion from an agenda. I look at Eve from a broad perspective and see it for what it is. It's a hardcore game with a cut and thrust environment. You die and die harshly in Eve and the pvp is the main cake slice for a lot of people. You also need industry in this game to produce modules, ships, ammo and you need miners to go out and look at rocks.
So yeah. PvP is good and I personally enjoy it but I will not forget the quiet people shooting asteroids.
As for the NGE. I was there too and it was the absolute worst thing that SOE could have done. So one person here will be bearing that in mind at least. No doubt there will be others on the actual CCP Council that the CSM reports to will also be wary of this as well.

I like what you said here "and if there is one thing I'd like to work for in the election period, it would be the introduction of an effective bounty hunter profession and a bounty system."
not only does it make sense but it is fun, things that make sense in a virtual world are much more fun IMO.
I'm also sure you would help to make Ambulation the best it could be so that's cool, I hope it will be an awsome thing to do to travel through EVE from station to station and all the bars discovering EVE in so many much more personal ways. But also are you interested in Factional Warfare?
So yeah, I'll vote for you, and if you don't win, don't give up, you should make it.
P.S. I do like Lavista Vista but I'm sure he is going to win no problem, so I'm giving my vote to someone who might need it more.
P.S.S. So far all you guys a pretty cool so I'm not worried and I do think none of you should give up if you lose this 1st time. *** |

Im wondering why people seem to think that us industry guys don't know anything about pvp. In fact, it couldnt be further from the truth.
I have been -10 twice already and now i fly around in 0.0 and kill stuff. Good times.
So just because our main interest is in industry, we do have teeths. Maybe we dont use out industry characters for pvp, but we might just have an alt who have killed you once!

I think it's because they do not realize that ship to ship PvP is pretty much covered just fine in EVE and if there is a problem or issue with it,
you would probably have no problem it talking about it and helping to fix it and discuss it with CCP,
the HARD parts are things like industry and RP immersion and actually making it fun to kill NPC etc...,
things we all have to do at one time or the other. And dare I say those things OTHER then ship to ship PvP are also a ton of fun or should be with any help from the CSM.
everyone on the CSM will take care of the carrier issues easy, they are going to take all you guys ideas too you know people.
Besides IMO a so called pure ship to ship PvPer if there actualy are any, would likely balance things to death like in so many other games. *** |

Ah yes, factional warfare... I don't know enough about that to be able to say I like or I don't like it. The idea for sure has potential, and - as you said - it could instill some sense into PvP (and eventually PvE as well). It very much depends on what CCP will come up with, it can destroy a lot of things (I don't want to imagine I cannot have all four races in my corporation anymore), but it can present a lot of interesting stuff as well, from a bonus system when killing an enemy faction player in PvP to storyline missions embedded in factional warfare events in PvE. So for me right now it is not directly on my Agenda, it is more of a wait and see item. That can, and probably will change as soon as CCP comes up with details.
And thank you very much for your vote!

Edited by: Homir Mallow on 11/04/2008 13:47:55 Hi all.
I presented myself as a candidate, and I've been a lil busy even before I did. I haven't said aloud that "you can vote me" yet because I wasn't absolutely sure I would be eligible... as I work as a Lead Programmer making videogames (not CCP).
Then, I've triple-checked; because of the NDA, there should be no prob at all, I hope. And as other candidates have presented themselves, I'm doing so myself. Late? Maybe. Real? For sure.
I've set up a simple, yet working blog: de gustibus [non est disputandum]. I won't be tuning it (that much), nor making sigs; I'd rather play EVE, listen and talk to people... get things done.
I'm almost certain I won't be a Chosen One, but I'm an alternative myself: that's my main point. No-nonsense; I can digress sometimes, granted, but I usually "seize the moment".
I'd rather go without a tagline, the title of the blog will do.
Let my small wheel start rolling. |

Hi again all.
Ive decided I want to withdraw my candidacy, so please DONT vote for me.
I have decided this for the following reasons:
1. I think I can be more helpful continuing my efforts in the HelpMyMission channel, as that is where my priorities lie in my time in Eve, not stuck in consultations trying to solve problems in 0.0
2. I would prefer to be playing the game, rather than being a politician.
3. If I have any issues, I can still ask the council to try to get them sorted out.
4. I think some of the people who seem to be applying for it have forgotten that Eve is a game, not Real Life, based on seeing some of their campaign websites.
Please don't waste your votes on me, as there are a lot of good people applying.
May I wish all the people the best of luck, but dont forget the most important point of Eve is to have fun.
P.S. Can my name be removed from any lists that are available for eligable candidates, thanks

Your observation is correct, your conclusion not.
Does an amateur football player not regard his time playing as part of his real life? Does someone hiking through the bushes on weekends not regard that as part of his real life? Does someone playing a poker game at home with his friends not regard this as part of his real life? And when he would play online poker at his computer, that suddenly would not be part of his real life?
We are all sitting at our computers in flesh, sweating, cursing, laughing, and sometimes thinking real hard to solve problems, and we are doing it in our real life. We are not asleep, we are not shut down in RL while doing that. Playing EVE for many is playing a game, but playing a game allways is real life.
One may subscribe or not to my belief that EVE is the first environment on the brink from being a mere game to a virtual world. One may have doubts with the results of my analysis, that virtual worlds will play a major role in our future life. If so, those probably don't want to vote for me, and that's fine. But I'm sure, those who don't believe that, are simply misjudging what EVE is and what EVE will - and can - become.

iirc, CCP lost the documentation to the billboards and can't reprogram them w/o rebuilding the code completely
Neat idea, though I can't recall the last time I actually paid attention to the billboards...
