Everyone says EVE should be increase by %. But what %? 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 35%,40%, 45%, 50%, or more? Should it just be PVP that gets increase or should PVE content also benefit form the increase?
I am strongly support of 15%, lesser values seem unacceptably low, and higher values seem too high. 5% The main argument against a 5% increase is it would have little to no impact on the overall populations, both null-security space and high-security space would trivialize such a increase. 10% is a fair middle ground in terms of increase but seems to lack the power of a modern day increase, we really need something more powerful to keep the game inline with the increase of other games in the mmo market. 15% is the perfect level of increase in my humble opinion, at 15% increase both high-security and null-security systems would benefit greatly, and everyone could enjoy the increase together. 20% and beyond seems excessive and wasteful, we shouldn't demand increase when no increase is warranted, I have included them because there might be good arguments for when larger increases could have a profound impact on gameplay.
If you were to determine the amount of increase in EVE what would you pick? |

I'd first like to see the player numbers return that EVE enjoyed pre-incarna before speculating what *could* be.

Hmm, and interesting and most vexing puzzle. I think I will have to offer the answer 45-7/ X multiplied by Y to the power of 300 spartans, where X is the % of wow players who arnt idiots and Y is a small but well formed mango. Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing. |

I'll post a serious reply, since nobody else is interested in doing so.
Increasing Eve Online should be considered by what CCP's target average population per system is.
5200 K-Space and almost 2500 W-Space solar systems exist. W-Space solar systems are definitely not as populated as K-Space and don't contain as much content. I would argue that they're not really a good release valve for the pressure of adding players.
So, roughly 400k players play the game. That's almost 78 players per solar system in K-Space. As opposed to when I first played the game in May of 2003, the available empty space in the game to expand into is non-existent.
To get back that sense of wonder at exploring something new, CCP would need to introduce tons of new content (new factions, storyline, solar systems, ships, etc) for it to be a good expansion. Of course, they could just skimp on content and just add more territory to fight over (meh).
The Jovians need to join us in combat! CCP can add genetic manipulation to the character editor / stats system... :)

Percentages are so pas+¬. Everyone uses factors now! Large volumes of highly researched Ammo, drones, charges and ship bpo's. Biggest BPO store in EVE! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=445524#post445524 |

By my calculations, at least a 26.579999999999% increase in EVE is required to maintain spacial transpliability. |

If they all come expecting to be bubble wrapped and have 100% protection then come crying on the forums because they lose ships to stupidity, I'd prefer a much lower percentage thanks very much. As mentioned above, there needs to be more added to EVE, whether that's in the form of content and/or new space to expand into if the population is to grow at a decent rate. WoW holds your hand until end game, and gives you a cookie whether you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place... |
