basically it works like this.
His main may not be war-decked, but toran is. his main gangs me, i warp to him. in midwarp, toran gets ganged by his main. Then all three of us are effectively wardecked. Toran and the main either fly out after breaking gang, leaving me to be ganked, or they, shield/armor repper eachother and **** me over.
Either way they win and i lose my ship/mods/implants.
He singled me out coz he saw my CN raven. CN raven = good setup (lots of shiny mods).
i also saw his employment history, 2 years.
Basically, unless u know them personally and fully trust them, better still, own corp only get mission help. If u wanna cover ur bases coz u wanna be a good guy, ask for an extortionate deposit to cover ur a** if the sh*t hits the fan.

Thanks for the info.
I have set up a channel designed to help people on their missions called "Helpmymission" with lots of good experienced players in there happy to help people out.
I agree there is always a risk involved, but we aim to get a good reputation out there, as a safe(er) place to get some genuine help.
I have now barred the people you have mentioned, so they won't be able to abuse the channel.
If you , or anyone else, know of any known gankers please feel free to either go to the channel and let us all know, or send me a mail so I can stop them getting in there

firstly,
my ship was not necessarily worth that. (( but being an ex-squaddie )) the first rule of combat is to never let the enemy know what ur strengths and weakness's are. Its called dis-information.
I made a point of asking for the deposit, so that he realised I was onto his game.. (employment history of over 2 years for a start with similar patter from past attempts) He also gave a lame excuse as to why he "asked me" (sit outside the station and wait for a cn raven to fly past).
Also, if a suicide ganker squad wants to have a shot at the title with me in empire and they are confident that they can take me down before concord arrives, then those guys are welcome to try. I'm not bullet-proof and i'm certainly not blowing my own trumpet, but i believe they will be risking a lot of isk for something that isn't necessarily gonna pay out, or indeed work, regardless of how fine tuned their practice on singularity is.
I have 4 years + in the game, and i'm the only person who knows where my skillpoints and how i setup my ship.
Anyway, if i wanted to be really arsy with this guy, i could of requested a screenie taken of his mission journal with 1.5hrs left on his mission and emailed to a spare acct. that would of made him bail out i'm sure of it.

When flying a Pimped CNR trust nobody. Also, the reason why he targeted your early on was to run a ship scanner on you to check the fit.

I'd be careful what you wish for...
My understanding of the numbers involved in suicide ganking the damage that 6 disposable overloaded-torp Ravens would put out enough damage in the 20 seconds or so before Concord make an appearance to overwhelm practically any tank.

Actually, extend that further. Unless you are playing with well trusted family members, trust NO-BODY... I've been stabbed in the back more times now in eve than any other game.

I'm sorry, but you're mistaken. If they want to suicide gank you, you will die. Additionally, if they fail, it costs very little (relative to what they stand to gain) because they all have full insurance.

Fun thing to do:
1) Leave fleet while the alt/ganksquad is starting to target you
2) Watch concord make shiny explosions
3) ???
4) Profit
That got me on a CNR killmail (I managed to hit with one Salvo before concord wtfpwned him) with a drake, netting in about 150+ mil loot.
edit: works best if the gankchar already cycles his weapons before/during lock. |

I think it is deeply ironic that this guy sets out to warn people that lofty tactics, when in fact, he just advertised himself as a Suicide Gank target.
Just so you know dude, around 3-4 ganks happen a day in Irjunen alone minimum, at thats just the ones at gates and station, so who knows how many get ganked mid mission.
If you want to warn others, better take a warning yourself and sell off all faction/officer/deadspace gear you got while you still get good money for them. Start running in setups that are likely to drop less than 200-300mil in loot can.

If people want to suicide on a X bil CNR, they don't have to wait til Mr Nathan comes online, they just take a ticket and wait at Irjunen gae for 15 min top.

You only need 4-6 overheated Ravens to gank virtually any mission runner fit at a gate/station, and a aferburner condor to bump people to stop them escaping who are mid mission (you can gank with 2 ravens if the guy is tanking a full spawm)

Theres only 2 missions that cannot be done w/ a T2 XL Booster (enemies abound 5/5, AE4 Bonus room). Train t2 cruise missiles and you get a good ROF for cheap.
About the only thing worth getting faction would be the CN BCUs. And those not worth a suicide on.

Irjunen is only 0.5 Motsu isnt far away you would be alot safer if you missioned in higher security Motsu. Concord reaction times much quicker

I fixed it for you.
Don't join any fleet, if you can do missions on your own, I see no need for it and if you have tons of ISK, which I guess is the case for you, fit out a second ship, maybe a regular raven to help ppl in your corp or w/e with missions.
Lastly, I would get away from irjunen, motsu, umokka or w/e all the lvl 4 mission hubs in caldari space are.
