As much as I can personally agree with this idea (GOD I HATE MOVING!!), I have to say just pick a central station and compile your crap there. From there you can have satellite homes that only contain the barest of essentials. Please stop asking for new stuff "Cuz it's neat".-á |

Such a ship already exists. It's called the Orca. You can throw any ship into it except battleships (because any space big enough for a battleship to fit in will also allow people to move small "ready-to-go" fleets without a problem) and have plenty of room for all your weapons, mods, and ammo. You can even fit warfare links on it for giggles if you are piloting it on an alt. "Just because I seem like an idiot, doesn't mean I am one." ~Unknown |

Also you can play the contract game. Contract it to an alt. Then create a courier contract.... |

I like this idea. Pirates could get immediate ship upgrades when they blow that super frieghter up and not have to fit anything. say a freighter is delivering about 20 t3 cruisers and gets popped. even if 1/3 drop, the pirates hit the motherload. |

While I believe the ability to use freighter style ships to haul assembled BSes through HS would be nice, I dont think a whole new ship just to move assembled ships through HS is the best option.
As already mentioned, people currently get around this problem via contracts, so putting in another mechanic wouldn't really be game breaking, but at the same time it raises the question of whether this is a good use of the development team resources.
What about a container you can put into the existing freighters? A simple massive container that is about 720km3 when assembled (so it fits in a Fenrir) and turns its internal cargo into a location that can hold assembled ships should require minimal hassle on the parts of both implementation and balancing. |

Turning the freigher cargo to ship maintinance bay wouldnt be a container but a configuration of the ship. While in station there should be an option to turn percentages of the cargo to maintinance bay. |
