ISD has been around for some time now, but what they really do has been a mystery; CCP Ginger takes you into the world of the Volunteer program. Introducing the many different divisions of ISD, what they do, and how they work together to help make EVE the game it is today. Check out CCP GingerÆs latest Dev Blog ôI have a secretàö

Interesting stuff...
It will be nice if Mercury can continue the level of content delivery we saw during the tournament.

It appears there was a slight technical hitch in the application page which prevented applications from getting sent out. The lovely webcell guys fixed this very quickly but if you sent your application in before the time of this post, please resend!
Sorry about that people.

The descriptions show up when you do "show info" on the region. There are many ways to get the regions up but i like to pick them off the map which you can do by going to your star map and then in your "World Map Control Panel" select the "Star Map" tab and then underneath that the "Labels" tab and mark the "All Region names" option.
Then all the region names will be displayed on the map and you can right click on these and hit show info and read the description there.

Great! I'm loving all the recent news-articles, it'd be great to continue seeing them on daily base in the future.
But what about the ingame appearances of "npc actors" like Aurora did? Or is that secret? :) -- My blog

Perhaps I'm missing something, but what makes Mercury different from Aurora? It sounds like the former is doing exactly what the latter was doing before they got canned. ---- FREE Explorer Lead Megalomanic EVE Automated Influence Map |

It's bad enough that you have to outsource your QA and support teams to free laborors. Now you have to have the community generate the backstory for you too?
Wasn't it just a few months ago that CCP was claiming they were hiring people other than software developers, because they needed people other than the kind that can fix bugs? Did all those guys just up and quit? Why does it require the assistance of the community to create the backstory? Does CCP have no real talent?
Why am I paying you for this game when you're just taking the money and making other people do the work for you?

Hey,
Aurora only did in game events, Mercury does fiction writing, both in the news and in game and anything else we can chuck at them. This covers quite a wide range of material, depending on what the needs are of the present time. Hope that clears it up.

Hey,
Im afraid there is some confusion here. Mercury doesnt create the backstory, they support the backstory. And to leave the community out of the process of helping with the backstory seems a bit resrictive to me seeing as the community is part of it and have contributed to it greatly already.

.... you poor ppl. I'll get the towel and soap i think I know a place nearby that has showers.
moar seriously I have a few questions about ISD... how heavily do u have to be active if you become an isd member, I am currently studying a dual degree at uni in AI/game making and doing something like this would look great on my resume or maybe help me get a job at ccp =). Unfortunately doing that dual degree also means I'm very busy =s. I usually try mining and working on assignments at the same time to some success and I hope I could do something similar with ISD. Looking forward to devblogs on Bug hunters and STAR and would like more info on what sorta stuff is involved in their day to day lives as volunteers.
also hire me and I'll give u free beer From devblogs I hear most of u drink and as I don't drink I could get you all drunk and make you agree to buff minmatar while you are drunk =)
