Hi, I've been away from the game for a few months and recently reactivated only to find that the station my mining character is in is now hostile and in the middle of nowhere.
He has a few ships there that i'd like to rescue if possible, but i dont know exactly how. I have a jump clone in empire so if all else fails i can still get out, but i'd rather rescue what i can. all the ships are mining ships so can really bundle them into one another.
Is there anything i can do with contracts?
Also if i jump clone out of the station can i jump back in?
I assume i wont be able to fly back in again if i leave?
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

How long have you been away?
If it has been more than six months, and you have you access to the station, then you *might* get help from a GM via petition.
I can't say for sure, but I have heard that they try to help people get back in to game if they have been gone a long time.
Oh, and if people don't like the idea of that happening, for what it is worth, I agree, so don't go flaming me over it. k'thx.

Your best bet is put everything on the market if its repackaged or on contracts if it isn't. Anything that is damaged you'll just have to trash. Then take your iskies and start again. There is very little else you can do and you can buy new ships, etc anywhere.
Yes, you can jump clone to and from the station. Just make sure you have your death clone set to somewhere safe in Empire, you don't want to risk losing skillpoints.
No you won't be able to dock again if you undock.

honestly, just leave it. if you play long enough you'll get a chance to get rid of it much later. between all of my accounts, i cringe sometimes when scrolling through the assets tab. but it does have advantages if you're willing to not focus on the fact you have assets somewhere you can't get to.
on several occasions i've been pleasantly surprised that i'm able to, at some time down the road, dock and repackage/reprocess/sell the stuff i never thought i'd be able to touch again. each time its a boost to the wallet.
stations change hands all the time and sooner or later its bound to end up in the hands of someone who opens the services up to neutrals. plus, building assets is half the fun in this game. just start rebuilding and forget about them. one day it will turn into isks when you need it the most.
think of them as a safety deposit box that you can't get into sometimes but no one will mess with. if you can afford the jump clone then keep it there and return whenever you want.
You're doing it wrong. |

Or just get some diplomacy going and see if the current owners will give you docking rights for a few hours, so you can go there and repackage. I don't fancy your chances with the locals out in space though .
