Here is me ... in the traffic jam, having nothing better to do then come up with stupid ideas of what would be nice in EVE-Online.
Todays thought: Battlefatigue
For miscredents: Whenever you fight a prolonged timespan the gear and personel gets tired.
How would it translate to EVE-Online ?
The longer the crew ( not you ) of a ship is in combat the worse the performance of it becomes. That would/could result in all kinds of combat related penalties. Simple ones like "tracking penalty" or "damage penalty" or ... you name it. It would/could result in skills based on OMG Charisma to battle the effects. I can come up with one already "Motivation", "Skill to motivate crew !" which results in better maintenance of the gear and the cap being able to get crew moving. The evil ones could use "Forced motivation", "Skill to motivate crew ... with a whip !" even better maintenance for a short period of time but then they you "Eff you !" and you get the full side-effects of prolonged combat.
The "fatigue" factor would be ship based, so if you repackage a ship the crew gets dismissed = 100% efficency of a new crew ( when assembled next time ). If you change ship and leave the "worn out" one in dock it will over time return to 100% efficency.
Looking at it from various angles: I can see that the oh so hated ( by me myself and I ) "Macro CNR mission runners" would be in for a beating ( even by NPC ) after they have been in combat for, let's say, 6h and the crew fatigue reached 25% ! Gate camping, the more you shoot people up, the more likely you are to get a beating yourself. Casual mission runner ... not so much affected by it since he doesn't spent that much time fighting.
As usual, I cannot look at it from every angle and consider each and every aspect but personally I would like to see it.
Last but not least, if you flame or post non-constructive replies I will not even bother ... just go here.
Regards,
FT

Seems redundant tbh. When I've been fighting for a long time, I usually get pretty tired, which results in -100% DPS when I log off. Sometimes my corpmates verbally whip me to force me to continue, but then I rebel and log off somewhere silly. -----

Unfortunately this would make fleet combat even more excruciating than it already it. With lag, major fleet battles are already quite frustrating and can last as long as several hours. Adding a component of combat fatigue to this would only frustrate players even - the longer the battle goes on, the harder it is to do anything. ---------------- Tarminic - 34 Million SP in Forum Warfare Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.79.3 (Updated 3/24) |

It's not needed when you have the capacitor mechanic
Dulce et decorum est pro imperium mori.
