Edited by: Siddy on 02/04/2008 11:59:21 Ok, ill make it short. We need navy implants.
At the moment we got pirate implants that favor griefers and other bad people that want to ruin other game experience. All and fine, but we need to counter balance this with navy implants. Navy implants would boost damage out put up to 53% of damage of the factionÆs most favored weapon system. In similar fashion of pirate implants do.
To balance this and prevent wrong people to benefit from this, you can only use them if you got + security status, if you get your sec back to positive, they will deactivate and wonÆt work until you are back on positive. Also, they wonÆt work in zero-zero sec to prevent abuse by grifers. This is to boost normal players that want to play this game in civilized fashion, and to defend themselves from socially inept segments of society that this game allow to exist. Grifers have been boosted with hicÆs and whatnot many times over, and this boost to people who server they empire and respect others is long overdue. Also providing boost mission running that got a huge nerf with torpedo changes. Giving tom cruise missiles more edge in tiresome profession. This would boost lowsec and help fight against unlawful people that need to be kicked to zero-zero once and for all!

Edited by: The Herrick on 02/04/2008 12:02:07 Just no. Besides "civilised" players can also use pirate implants and may even have easier access to them. A raven will benafit hugely from a crystal set for example so it's not like they useless to mission runners.
Also for the record PvP isn't griefing.
Edit: a navy faction implant could be nice though, would have to be more interesting then just a flat damage boost however.

I'm going to venture out and take a guess that you accepted a lvl 4 into low sec without realising it, went ahead anyway without support because you didn't want to loose agent standing and got ganked by a pirate.
You now believe that if you had 53% extra damage you would have won the fight despite the fact the pirate was probably setup to do damage to your low resists and tank your specific damage type because it is a mission area and he/she wanted 'phat' loot.
So you come on the forums and post this idea that you think is amazing, believing that everynoe will be behind you and Tux or someone else will reply with 'Your wish is my command!' and you'll be a hero.
But instead you have been laughed at:
hah!

I would like much navy implants, currently, the navy LP stores are only useful for faction ships BPCs, other than this, you'll just buy ammo from there (or maybe it's only like this for gallente and amarr navies? that I have looked at?).
Damage it not a good idea at all, I'm just thinking of a close to 1400 DPS astarte or an hyperion with maybe 1900? It's insane.
Ganking is easy enough, you just have to bring frieds and you will break any tank (the friends to break super capitals is called blob currently ).
So, these implants should improve something else. I've got a few ideas about what they could do :
1- Mix several types of bonuses, for example, a gallente navy set could do half what the snake does and half what the slave does. It's two smaller bonuses instead of a bigger one. Minmatar could have half halo, half crystal, which would work great.
2- Do something completely different? There are several aspects that don't have a set in the game. Drones (for gallente - no to DPS increase again, just speed, tracking, HPs and such stuff), EW (for caldari - all EW!), propulsion jamming (for minmatar), something else for amarr as they, and I guess EW is maybe covered by mordus? It was just ideas like that.
3- We have a mindlink implant, we could have mindlink sets... Maybe overpowered and too limited to older players (I only know a few players that invested in mindlinks, it's a long way!)
4- Fitting sets? Amarr pwg boost, caldari CPU boost, minmatar something, gallente something else... -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast ! Please visit your user settings to re-enable images. Assault Frigates MK II |

I don't think hybrid sets would fair too well, you want to choose a strategy and maximize it... It would be like a hybrid shield/armor tank... almost always a bad idea...
How exactly would this encourage players to enter lowsec? They would have even more uninsured risk if they get podded... About the only thing you could do is disable the implants in highsec, so that to use them you'd need to be in lowsec/0.0... ç¦ |

well we all KNOW how POWERFULL the gaistas and all other pirates (rats) are, so OFCAUSE they have some UBER SUPER DUBER implants to give you, while concord and the factions that made them are so insanely weak, so why should they have such things XD
ahh the ironi :P
well i totally agree with you on this one dude ^^ (though i think they should work anywhere... and while i am at it, WHY again do you get bounty in 0.0 for killing rats in a area where concord don't give a **** about what happens?, you should get security penalty out there if killing some one that was not in a corp you where in war with, or in npc corp.. YES i said it, being in a npc preventing you from becoming a wartarget should automatically make you a free for all if you entered 0.0) I declare war on stupidity |

just curious, EVEN with a extra 50% dmg.. how again would you get those two ships up to that dps and still be ABLE to do a mission within a reasonable time frame ? XD I declare war on stupidity |

Erm, you know, not everyone runs missions in a Raven. So not everyone suffered from the torpedo change. And Ravens are still superior in terms of mission running. They don't need a PvE boost.
