Hey guys/gals, I am trying to fill my gaps if any about ways to avoid, so far i have the following:
1. Use scout, if camp not fly through at all (although a bit tedious if playing solo) 2. Use a recon with cov ops cloak 3. Hope to land at about 20-22km off main camp and hope to outrun by mwd + overheat so you can warp away 4. Fly a small enough ship and hope there isn't a smart bombming BS 5. Use a combination of 1 + any of 2-4 to fit the situation.
Anything i'm missing?
PS: I'm seeing some posts that suggest these updated webs to counter nano setups to be made at 25-30km, well that will just about kill your opt. 3 above, leaving you with using only either a recon or a shuttle/interceptor if no smartbombs or choose an altogether different route. PPS: Right now there is no way (foreseeable) for a larger ship, read a BC or above (even cruisers if competent gate campers) to avoid a gate camp effectively, at the moment these ships would just die. Ok Assuming gate camp lets you mwd back to gate without 3x webbing you.

The thing is though you have some time after you uncloak until your mwd gets you to your 2/3 warp speed. If your ship is not fast/small one or a recon, you might have a problem...

I think you mixed up "Cloak" and "Activate MWD".
Apart from that, it's a great tactic. If you get the timing right you'll be pretty hard to catch. ----------
You get a wonderful view from the point of no return. |

Fixed
You can't activate your MWD while you are cloaked, but if you activated it during the instant between decloaking and recloaking it will finish out its cycle while you are cloaked.
The trick with this is two fold: 1) Timing - you need to get the Align-MWD-Cloak-Decloak timing right for this to work properly. 2) Luck - hope that nobody gets within 2500m during the 10 second MWD cycle.

Actually the point of the MWD is to get you up to speed.
During the 10 seconds that you are cloaked, you are accellerating to warping speed. The MWD counter acts the webbing effect of the cloak.
You need to time your decloak such that you decloak just after your MWD finishes its cycle, but before you decelerate from the MWD bonused speed.
Decloak too soon and you need to accelerate to 75% of your MWD speed.
Decloak too late and you will have dropped below 75% of your regular speed.
Get it just right, and you will find that your MWD+Cloak speed > 75% of your regular speed, giving you an insta-warp.

Yep, in the above i was replying to the poster before me, with a different set of steps than yours. :-)
