Currin Trading was quite famous scam in his time. He also predicted the great EIB scam.

Originally by: Kwint Sommer To answer the OP, no, there haven't been any notable Ponzi schemes. I'm sure one or two has happened but no big ones and so long as we continue to demand a detailed business plan for public offerings, there won't be.
CT scammed 30B back in 2006, it was a lot at that time and it produced A LOT of forum drama which slowly escallted into EIB drama. So I disagree, CT was classic ponzi and it is one of most notable events in Eve scams history.
EDIT: Ponzi Scheme

Wasn't CT more of a pyramid scheme than a Ponzi scheme or is my memory a little off?
That link I posted earlier describes CT operation very well, seems like Ponzi and he calls it Ponzi too. He also mentions another Ponzi scam from 2003 (10B ISK) exacuted by Morbor.
