Saw the thread asking how much everyone was worth and It made me think about asking this much more important and pressing question.
I am working on breaking my second (tho in all honesty Diablo 2 ruined the first one, it just passed the ductape stage shorty after i started playing EVE)

Omg, what a great topic! I have just replaced one this last week. I bought a very nice brown sweade one from Best Buy. My old one was like a minmatar vs lets say a Amarr chair now. Eve will take out your chair, be carful all!

i'm on my 3rd chair, thou i'll admit, that FPS's pretty much smoked the 1st chair.

Battlefield 1942 and Rome: Total War conspired to destroy my first gaming chair. I'd typically lean back in it, but the way the legs were designed the whole thing really wasn't meant to support someone like that day in and day out, so they eventually started to *****. The chair was part of the apartment's furnishings so I ended up having to pay them for it when I moved out. I think it cost like twenty dollars 
I haven't broken any chairs playing Eve, but I have fallen out of a few. Drinking related hazard.

Stool (the kind you sit on) > chair.
You're not going to be leaning back, and whats the point of armrests unless a mouse fits on it.

As long as we're discussing things other than chairs now, any headset I bring into my home should consider itself under a sentence of death. I've gone through five sets just since I started playing Eve. Apparently my headsets dislike teamspeak as much as I do, and are committing suicide in the dead of night while I sleep. Although one set I did step on so that pair's cessation of functionality isn't quite as much of a mystery.

I play Eve nude so just have to scr-ape the skidmarks off the chair every few weeks.
Wow, these forums really are dumb sometimes, it asterisks the word "scr-ape"!

Hmm... broken chairs ... well, I guess you could say one chair and a half 
In all honesty though, it wasn't so much EVE's fault as it was gravity's fault, but "meh".
Had a wooden chair, it's practically "freely reassemblable" these days, no glue would stick much (hooray for really though wood though), so that's the "half broken" one.
I also had one of those large "executive" leathery chairs with armrests... the metallic swivel support finally ruptured partically (but was still holding on on the back half, I mean, metal, come on, I just blocked the swivel mechanism, which only accelerated the tearing), had it welded back together, but after 4 more months it finally re-collapsed so badly I just didn't feel like repairing it anymore (nor getting another one like that for that matter).

1, i was sitting in it rather strangely and a wheel snapped off and the entire thing, me included, went crashing for the ground. Almost smacked my head into the desk prior to landing.

EVEs been pretty kind to my seating and equipment arrangements but a combination of freelancer multiplayer and dawn of war along with unreal tourney has cost me about 5 mice 2 keyboards and 1 chair in the last 4 years.
