So far, no NGE-type patch has been added to the game to break it on a very fundamental level.
People get angry because they like EVE, not because the hate it.
Incarna is so far more like the CU.
The Winter Expansion sadly has the potential to be a NGE.
To avoid that CCP needs to get back to basics, ships, ammo and modules. The game has stagnated over the last two years. Nerfing WH and Hi sec will not reinvigorate the game. Stay the course they are on and EVE's best days are long past.

In other words you cant think of anything :)
and yes the CSM was brought about because of a CCP Dev aiding an alliance. I believe that CCP Dev was not fired and the CSM have no power so again, what changed? |

Icelandic employment law prevented this.
EDIT: Actually these days, finding out that there was still a dev in EVE who cared enough about playing to cheat would probably be received as good news...

That's why nothing changed no one was ever held accountable. T20 should of been fired, whatever manager approved incarna going live in its state should be fired. |

Prince Kobol wrote: so again, what changed? ccp devs stopped playing in 0.0 alliances for a few years, lol
t20 was one incident in a series of cases of dev favoritism (often involving aurora events) that stopped after the media shitstorm over t20; those cases of favoritism we complain about today (e.g. ccp cranking down on the onlining of SBUs during extended dts in an unpredictable fashion) are laughable in comparison.
for years t20 would be mentioned at even the slightest chance of ccp misconduct, making sure the company was held to a very high standard in that regard.
ccp has (since the aftermath of t20) an IA team that is pretty accessible to players (and is getting invoked by 0.0 alliances every now and then to clear up conflicts about Gm decisions, favoritism, ...)
tl;dr what people complained about stopped. CCP's efforts to sweep the incident under the rug failed due to media outrage. What more do you want? |

The CSM concept was already being discussed before the whole T20 stuff happened. It was surely given a kick up the priority chain when all that blew up but it wasn't invented out of the blue specifically due to one dev's misconduct.

"T20" hasn't worked at CCP for years.

Wouldn't that depend on how bad the company needed him or if he was going to resign anyway? I mean sure he was cheating at eve and that in a vacuum should be grounds for firing him eventually. But how and when to let someone go involves business decisions that involve facts we are not privvy to. Make faction war occupancy pvp instead of pve

You have employment law to contend with and sometimes things are not as clear as they seem in hindsight. Say for example I had a guy stealing paperclips from my company in the UK and I decide to give him a formal warning for it. Thats me deciding not to immediately fire him and to give a chance for the warning to repair the guys behaviour. If I then come into the office the next day and decide "damn I want to fire the guy anyway" then I'd be in the wrong because I'm escalating the punishment I already handed out. We'll probably never know precisely what went on with T20 but its not hard to imagine this kind of scenario at play.
The real problem with the T20 scandal (in my opinion) is that I perceive a massive overreaction on ccp's part that ended up costing us as players far more than the discovery of an illicit sabre bpo did in the case of this rogue dev. We lost a degree of connection between developers and the game that comes from playing the thing you are developing. The rules and restrictions placed upon CCP employees post T20 were pretty strict and stern and I can certainly understand many of them choosing to just play something else to relax rather than live in fear of being found to be in breach of the laws in Eve now.
Combine that with the loss of the volunteer events team stuff, with the limitations and ultimate disappearance of aurora etc etc, and you had a single incident that led ultimately to a diminished game environment for everybody.
In retrospect the better option would probably not have been to knee jerk to restrictive internal affairs departments but simply ammend people's contracts of employment to ensure everyone realized future breach of trust would be terms for dismissal period with no wriggle room.
*shrugs*
Past history though.
