I think it then comes back to the Dr's economic reports. All data obtained would be boring stats we already know. Articles are generally opinionated (such as invention ones etc). I personally don't really agree with some of the things said myself but i understand that these articles will always be opinionated.
We have another thread opened regarding EBANK articles here with a contact email addy available. If IPO owners/runners would like to provide their own basic articles we are happy to look at posting them. This ensures accurate data in this regard being reported.

Edited by: Leowen on 06/04/2008 09:11:04 Taking us back to my suggestion - build an 'Expert Panel', of external preferably broadly respected individuals with specialism in various fields. 'Sub out' your opinions pieces to them, and consult with them on 'State of the Market' pieces, retaining the right to edit of course and keeping a watchful eye for attempted market steerage.
That way in theory you gain massively in wisdom, whilst offloading some of the responsibility of publishing important information.
EDIT: Re your other post, you may find it much easier to consult with people on subjects rather than expect them to write the articles for you. IMO someone going to the effort of writing for you is less likely to be a highly successful person in their field than someone who would agree to consult. The successful businessman won't give up hours of his time for promotion of self and EBANK, he'll be too busy doing what he does... The volunteer writer has time on his/her hands, and quite likely a personal agenda to push making the writing worthwhile...

I want to ask everyone what they thought of the overall size of the ezine?
Too Short? Too Long? Too much content? Not enough?
I'm not asking about the content itself but the overall length of the content, where you expecting more or less information?
Is there something we can do without? What about something we could include more of?
What was unexpected about this? What where you expecting but didn't find?
Answering some of these questions will help us in the next editions.

Are you sure there'll be time, I mean there's that whole 15 minutes of 'vote for me I'm on the CSM' that you'll probably want to do again...
:p
While I appreciate the offer, I'm hardly likely to 'put my name' on something so poor (only my own opinion, of course) in its current form.
Don't worry, I'm working on something myself in the next few weeks that you'll be equally able to criticise and trash in return ;)

As a customer of EBANK I do appreciate the update and the mag. Outside of the short comings already posted, the ezine is pretty good. I did like some of the humours pictures.
Suggestions:
1) Text only version. 2) One long in depth article 3) Input or guest article from a sector leader/tycoon
Thank you again for a good first publication, time and effort put in. I would like to help, but my knowledge and grammar pale compaired to Hexxx.

More some things change the more they stay the same.
Let me be the first to call "bs" to Ray's call for greater accuracy in reporting. There will always be some room for improvement in reporting. Nothing is ever quite accurate. Your own public statements have often proven this rule in and of itself.
If there was something wrong, ask for a correction/retraction. Stop beating the person trying to do something positive just because you are in the mood for playing perfectionist.
As to your statements of "get out of the game", for crying out loud... it is a game you ninny. Disclaimers aside, there is a level of excellence you can expect from a professional publication that you pay to read. This is something given, free of charge, from people that are interested in doing something positive.
IMNSHO I always thought an eBank ezine/report to be a bad idea as the eve community is mostly comprised of a bunch of unwashed louts with the soul of a wolverine when it comes down to gratitude or kindness. Sadly, you've only proven my argument better than I ever could.
In the end, so there's a few errors. Your life, or gaming, isn't over. Grow up, deal with it, and stop whining.
To Shar -verb: 1 - To say what you mean. 2 - To say what it means. 3 - To say something mean.

I have asked Mr Horizontal to reverse these payments as a few inconsistencies may have been aired. I am currently trying to get hold of Hexxx (spends weekends away from pc normally) to ensure everything is accurate.
As a result of a 1-3 day delay on payment EBANK will increase the interest accrued from 7% to 7.5% on all outstanding bonds.
If any bond holders can't wait these couple of extra days please contact me via evemail and I will organise alternate arrangements for you. It should be noted that funds on hand is definetly not the problem, we easily have the funds to repay both outstanding bonds. The inconsistency is in the bond numbering. (ie its a 32b bond however the spreadsheet provided by Hexxx states more than 32b) so this needs clarification (we believe he gave us the wrong document).
We apologise in advance for this issue.

Actually it was a little mixed up. IE one of the silent bond holders put 6b into the bond however for some reason the data specified 12b. So basically I need to track down precisely what people sent at this time, compared to their reservations etc. It's not a matter of losing investors, it's investors getting even more money back
So I can attempt to correlate myself or wait for Hexxx. I will give it a shot and try to make the numbers add up today though, I prefer to have this bond and all subsequent ones paid on time.

I've looked at our data and I believe we have an issue with duplicates...Ricdic, Mr. Horizonal, and myself will go over what we have and sort this out.
Let me also say that most of the delay is entirely my fault, not anyone elses. I spend almost my entire weekend away from home, as this is the only time I get to spend with my son. As such, logging on is not a high priority. If I had gotten all the data right the first time we wouldn't be having this issue, and much of the delay is attributed to my regular weekend absence.
I expect we should have this resolved entirely by Sunday evening when I can make sure that the data I have and the data Ricdic has matches up.

How about an update? Not that I mind waiting or that its a problem as such but I do keep checking my account to see if there has been a payout on the bonds. More communication would be apprechiated.
Thanks.

Been away for a while, just to be clear, the bonds were supposed to end up in our ebank sweep accounts, yes? I'm currently showing neither the bond nor the payout of the bond in my ebank account. Or, by sunday night did you mean 2008-04-27? I'm not in a hurry, I can't really log in to eve, so, a few days delay is a non issue. I would ask on the board, except, the ebank board doesn't like my email address.

Hey Impy - the ball's squarely in Hexxx's court atm and I've not seen him since he posted here last. I've emailed him and pestered him as much as I can, and as soon as he confirms his end, then I can press the red button.
Sorry again, but do rest assured you'll be getting a nice 0.5% cherry on top.

That .5% looks a little unattractive in a couple of more days though. That said thanks for the update lads just wanted reassurance something was happening. |

Just an update, I'm working on double checking our transactions vs. tracking sheet vs. database records for the bonds. From what I've been able to tell, we had some duplicates which are causing most of the problems. The others are attributed to some possible mixups with the other bond. Consequently, I'm accounting for both bonds tonight.
As Mr. H mentioned, there is a new, better, shinier way to handle these sorts of things but it's not ready yet.
On a personal note, I must apologize to everyone for my EXTREMELY inopportune absence the past few days...work has been heavy, my personal life has been heavy, and EVE fell very quickly to the bottom of my priority list in light of all that.
I hope to correct this soon, and again, these bonds were 100% my responsibility in terms of managing them and 100% my responsibility for them being screwed up. My apologies to our bond holders.

OK - everything was resolved late last night by email, but I wasn't about to touch a live database with a sleepy head (I have many battle scars and white hair to prove I've learned this lesson well!). However after a nice morning coffee, the red button has duly been pressed!
You will now see your original investment + 7.5% in your accounts.
When I initially paid out the bond, there were a load of duplicate entries that meant the system would pay out a whopping 53.5b instead of the 34.4b it was supposed to, because Hexxx forgot to take out some test data. While ISK may be monopoly money, the Chance card 'Bank error in your favour' only has a limit. Anyway, I sincerely apologise for the delay.

As per this thread here you purchased from bond #1 which hasn't yet reached maturity. It reaches maturity on 31/04 so yours is almost ready to be paid.
Cheers
