I think grouping for lvl4 missions is good.... but as someone else said.. ninja looting is gunna be a/the problem.

Hmm yeah i kinda agree that Agents (missions) are more for the solo player than for groups.
But here's a point to think about:
You can not group warp to the mission spot so what do they expect you to do send a scout who assests the treat make a BM call friends and kill the mission. This for double reward of a L3, prolly can do 2 L3 missions at ease in that time. And only kill missions make sence as they want to force you to group , a L4 courier being move 50k of garbage to next system doesnt need other peeps.
Think they should rethink this and make it more senseble.

Tapal, I'm kind of hoping that the double reward is standings and maybe agent bonus only. If the lvl named rats have good drops, it may become financially viable that way.

would hope this is a simple change to make. can be no argument it is required if you requires groups for lvl4 missions.

Yep. Level 3 missions are too easy for mature toons, and this idea of forcing us to group to complete level 4 missions leaves no space in between for the solo player looking for something more challenging in the way of missions.

Just FYI to the point of not having gang warp to BM or whatever...
COpy BM as many times as you need and jettison for peeps to use...
Simple as that. Your Heavy Neutron Blaster II perfectly strikes Serpentis Chief Sentinel, wrecking for 660.4 damage.

Papasmurf said that the first lvl 4 missions were ONLY kill missions.
As several of the tougher killmissions from lvl 3 agents are doable in a cruiser I suspect that it's going to be possible but hard to do the lvl 4 ones solo in a BS.

Well, um, they have lots of NPCs already coded...it would likely be a minor database change to make them spawn on agent missions. They said soon. But I want now... =======Abaddon=======

True, Ive always seen agent missions as the soloers/noobies way to get ahead in the game. That being said, I have no problems with making group-worthy missions, but the payout would need to be one hell of a lot more than twice that of level3. I'm also worried that that implies that level3 missions are going to get *much* harder, with these missle fixes and such, which is really going to kill off interest completely. Tough challenging missions are good, but remember that people don't really want to slave away for endless hours doing level2 missions just to they can afford a BS to do level3, and so forth.
What they ought to do is add a balanced mix of group/solo missions at level4, and at the same time remove the standings penalty of refusing an offered mission (before you accept it, not after) from all agents. Thus you could do the group missions if you wanted to *and* you already had your crew lined up, but you wouldnt be forced into it either way.

in fact, if you don't like mining, PvP, trading, producing & selling, hunting in sec space (cheap loot, weak rats), paying for hunting in 0.0 ... the game is at a very boring point. More challenging missions are needed very much ... IMO

If you noticed the comment actually said "Battleship and friends" which suggests that at least 3 people are needed to complete the missions.. So to make the payoff worthwhile the reward should be at least 4 times the value of the level 3 otherwise you will end up with the same amount of pay as for a level 3 but with alot more risk.

I dont follow:
a) level 4 reward = 2 x level 3 reward = around 500k
b) bounty from kill mission rats = level reward (maybe 1.5 more)
c) mission rat has top class bounty (crusers from 60k,75k)
d) top class bs bounty is near 1mil
From a-d the level 4 kill mision should be 1 bs + some escort. But I dont see a problem with 1 bs + escort for some1 on a bs and some basic skill.
Another point, if reward for the level 4 is around 500k then it would not worth it for 4 ppl on bs to do it, they farm and mine veld ten times faster.
So either the reward should be 5 times of level 3 PLUS bounty or it will be 1bs rat and carcal will do it alone.

careful what you wish for... ya just might get it!
obviously, some haven't seen what NPCs are capable of, while testing when eve first came out, TomB had some fun with me, spawned a bunch of rats then sat back and laughed, now the rats have been tweaked and are much more capable, MWDs etc. and as mentioned the NPCs will have 'leet frigates etc. coming out about the same time as the L4 missions, so be very careful for what you wish for here.
i would rather see L4 missions come out being easy, and gradually be fixed or tweaked as they progress to the degree of difficulty intended.
and would like to see an option for solo mission players, after the new wears off, finding someone to help you will get harder and harder to do. and we'll be left with no missions that are fun or challenging. maybe even a solo or grouped option that you can actually choose which path to take, solo mission is forfieted if someone helps you.
there needs to be a reasonable solution here, not another rush job that ends up in dullness for everyone.
to me.. there is a mystique about soloing missions, making it more of a real life immersion into the adventures of a lone rogue agent, facing the intrigues of espionage in the universe of eve.

i agree totally
a "forked path" approach to l4 and above missions would be a plan
like the agent asks "do YOU want a mission" or "do YOU want a mission for your TEAM" and rank the risk/reward appropraitly
i for one look forward to l5 missions equal to destroying the death star with my whole corp behind me, but also taking on missions where only one ship can complete them...
having l4 missions "only able to be completed by groups" precludes the "lone agents" who play this game, also you find nearly all agent runners are "lone" agents within a corp
agent missions fill the gaps between player created content (corp/alloiance wars etc) and also supply unique components for TL2 manufacture...
making the L4 "team only" seems a little unfair

Hmmm, I think I will call out for help on the mission and help channels when lvl4 agents start, and assemble a mini fleet to try out it's difficulty that first time.
Thats one way to get over the solo agent runner problem. There's always people willing to help on those channels.

well they did say it would take more than one person to take out pirate spawns in 0.0 space, yet there are many of us who are capable of doing this alone, so perhaps the dev's are incorrect in assuming that more than one person is needed for lvl4 missions. However, this does bring up a REAL problem for those players that enjoy playing the game solo I don't beleive they should be forced to play with other people, especially when you consider how easy it is for others to rip you off or take the loot in this game.
