all the time people put into this game, all the friends they've made, its not really something you can just walk away from because something doesnt smell right. so they come here and voice there concerns in hopes of some kind of answer, thats what the forums are for.
Tbh, theres always something interesting to read or some new kind of exploit or some kind of game mechanic people are having trouble with, the day these forums are silent, should be the day you get worried about these forums.

Because we are sick and tired of CCP making the game run worse and making more bugs with every patch. They need to get thier Q&A under control and quit messing up the game. It will be 3 weeks since the last patch tomorrow and they have done NOTHING to fix all the problems they created.

Whining has gone up quite a bit since that incident. And the market is stupidly out of control without someone thinning out JITA a bit.

The whole point is to complain dude ... leaving is for the younger generation.Us oldies just complain and moan but won't make a change.

me too, I work around it. just minimize your overview before you start a gang. its seriously that simple. no need to cry on the forums because you need to tick a extra button until next patch

Ok ok, i will do it.
I love this game to the fullest, i have good fights every day, and i am pretty sure i get at least a few laughs out of it every day as well, the game works perfectly for me, i have no issues about something else being overpowered or underpowered or i am neither in need for any new toys or gagets or any changes to the way things works.
It is just a bloody good game Mkay!!!!

Because it's easier to complain, and people do not talk about the things that are good because it's considered normal.
It's not just in Eve, look at any game forum, it's always full of *****ing and moaning no matter what.

tbh I relive all the worst moments of my life whenever I log into Eve. That's why I'm negative. That's what gives me veteran status. When I log in, I recall every traumatic injury, every death of grandparents, every death of family pets, every failed romance, and every night I've woken up in bed without realizing when or how I got there all at once. My question to the OP is: "why are you so positive"?

Generaly speaking forums attract three types of people.
1. The helpful and well intentioned. (This does not mean they have a clue but that their heart is in the right place.
2. The malcontent and maleficent (again this makes no claim on intelect or quality of material posted.)
3. The alt. Usually a body double of #1 posting as #2.
By this simple formula you can deduce that 2/3 of all the posts on the forums will be filled with useless drivel worthless crap and trolling.
Of the 1/3 that is designed to actually help it is difficult to determine how much of that will actually be useful information or more crap posted ignorant of actual game mechanics, player politics, cost, or skill requirements. For example referring people to the ship setup index on this forum... well intentioned but not really helpful as the majority of the setups are RMR or earlier.
Regardless it is then safe to assume that less than 1/3 of the posts on the forums have any value at all. Including this one since it could be considered nothing more than a ***** about how bad the forums suck. Which in fact it is.

People will leave Eve, when another space based MMO comes out. Star Trek Online is going to hurt this game. Alot will come back. Eve is unique. With all it's bugs, contradictions in game play, miserable players 9At times), it has appeal.
The thing is, don't confuse passion for hate. This is the only game I ever had enough passion about besides PreCU SWG to 'complain' about. Most, I didn't care one way or the other and in 3 months I was gone. We engage in this hobby called Eve and some times things don't go our way. So we come here. That's a forum role, it has been for every MMO I played. |

I think old players are being bored about the game after playing so long, and are stuck in the complaining rut. Of course they have played long enough to have propably faced all the problems there is, so they are good at complaining. That is imo natural for any MMO player. Play long enough and they just start to complain about everything. They are also propably the most vocal ones in forums.
Majority of players like the game. I have played bit over a year now and my feelings about the game are at an all time high at the moment. :)

Christ, you should take up WoW!! EVERY time Blizz decide to change something, someone is on-hand to shout "NERF!" or "BUFF FOR ROUGES, WOT ABOUT MAGES???? FTL!!"
EvE is a decidedly adult affair when you compare the two. We all just seem to get on with our cosmic lives regardless!
I think it is to do with the intentional policy of making EvE a harsh environment, with a kind of "frontier" feel to it that reduces the whining.
I mean, you actually have to CHOOSE a pvp server on Wow, or flag yourself as pvp! These factions are meant to be at war for Gods sake!

This forum is just for entertainment purposes really. To check out what kind of asshats play this game and to see what people are whining about. I never take anything said here real seriously.
The "Ships and Modules" board on the other hand is a really good forum. There is a considerable amount of e-peen waving and some arguing there as well but if you want to learn about the game, that and some of the other sub-forums are where to go.
