I am a new player, but isn't the entire point of a sanbox game that we can do what ever we like and go where we want from the moment I enter the game in a new character? The entire point is if I wanted I could go to 0.0 or Delve in a 800k sp player in a shuttle. Fine make an area which is very dangerous, but make it so dangerous that only players who can fly their ships well can survive. I could still go down in my noob ship but I would likely not last very long.
The entire concept of artificial barriers preventing players without certain skills entering areas is something that I hate in ANY game. Even in GTA I hate the fact that some areas of cities were blocked by 'storms'. In EVE even though I wouldn't go to those area the knowledge that they exist would **** me off.

Skillpoints do not make you uber. Only your actions do.
Any melon can login and train skills. Real game knowledge comes from actual "doing".

Because that would make Dr. Caymus, who's almost entirely specced in Science and Industry, almost invulnerable to conflict. Anyone in a noob ship could kill him, because he has no fighting or defensive skills, but because he has 100mil SPs he's suddenly harder to kill?

I get the feeling that he is joking... That'd be purposeful misspelling, unless he is not out of elementary.

Skills are an advantage, not a guarantee. I've been killed by characters younger than mine and I've killed characters far older.
Also, in my opinion, it takes a while to make solid decisions on how you like to fight, what ships you like to fly, which areas of the game you prefer (combat, mining, research, production etc) and that time is neatly filled by the training times on getting skills to level 5 for the most part. The rest is merely fine tuning.
High prereqs for the biggest, shiniest, most expensive stuff is there almost as a buffer to ensure you can actually afford to use and indeed, lose, them. "I got soul but I'm not a soldier" |

Any 0.0 corp worth its salt will realize that a newbie with enthusiasm and a willingness to listen to reason is worth more than any vet with X millions of SP and no clue.

New players can catch up, in flying a specific ship or doing a specific activity, within a reasonable amount of time. Older players won't do that one thing any better, but they will be able to do more different things, which is great because it gives a controlled content release, even after years you're still unlocking a new ship class etc.
Also, go back to WoW ;)

WHY????
i havent played this game for basicly 5 years for some neewbie to kill me after 2 month of playing.. and that is actualy how it is atm.. enough newbies can EASILY kill a old schooler.. and to b hounest thats insane.. i sugest that ccp makes a few regions where only old players can enter.. say players with 40 mill sp +
this area had ofc to be very damn lethal.. but also worth the hazzle..
thx.
A newbie of 2 months can solo you given the right circumstances .
