Last night 11pm I checked Gallente Battleship Level 4, it had 8 hours left.
Then I went to bed.
Now it's 11am (12 hours later) and I have 2 hours left on Gallente Battleship level 4.
wtf is going on?

You know I've noticed this happening before but always figured I must be mistaken, but last night I specifically looked at the training time right before I hit the sack.
When I woke up 8 hours later I knew it was done but had other stuff to do before checking.
So then I check expecting to change the skill and it still has 2+ hours on it.
Either something is wrong with skill training times or I'm going insane.

Also, from what I understand the timer on the sheet isn't necessarily always correct. Skills will show as trained when the server-side timer (considered the true timer) is up. For example, if you were podded with implants your sheet timer will not update, although the server-side timer does.

Id does happen at times, not too many people mention cause tehy just blame it on the ale or something.
Best thing is to use evemon, take note of the skill end date/time, Especially when you do bs lvl 5.
If it happens again, petetion it. and i would petetion this one as well, but what the hek, its only few hours.

Sometime it happens that the time remaining is displayed wrong. I had skills that I did know would require several days display a remaining time in hours or even minutes, re-logging usually cleared that.
In other occasions a skill ended exactly when I was having a session change. I did received the completion mail (old times) but the skill displayed as only partially trained (exactly at the point where I started or restarted the skill the last time or when I did check it on the forum under my character). Again relogging resolved that.

Yeah, I noticed it too.. Had six hours left on a skill, trained it down to five hours then switched to a longer skill while offline. Next day I log in it's back to 6h... I sure hope it's not something that will happened again cause then I'll never get that skill trained in time..

I've sometimes noticed this too, even without having been pod killed between the time I started and finished a particular skill. The difference between the projected time the skill finishes and the actual time it does has never been more than an hour or so. It could just be a flaw in the arithmetic that goes into calculating skill times in certain instances, or maybe CCP occasionally does something to their server that makes it stop making real-time changes to the game during downtime (has anyone ever noticed this time discrepancy happening to industrial jobs?) |

I once had a skill complete to level 1. Then I tried to put the module on that I was training for(skill was high speed maneuvering) and I couldnt fit it. I looked back and the skill was level 0 with no training. I actually clicked to train it again and spent about 5 minutes training it before I looked at my history and saw it was allready done. But the skill was still saying level 0. I petitioned and a few minutes later it was fixed though I do not think it was the petition because I canceled the petition after it was fixed. |

I got mechanic lvl 5 without training it. But that was like, back in the day. When you could get SP in mechanic by, for example, flying around with cargo expanders fitted . No joke. --------------

I had a skill that i knew from evemon and from my timing had about 3 or 4 hours left on it, yet my skill sheet in game said "Completion imminent." it stayed like this for over two hours before i had to relog, after the relog it showed the correct time.
the skill sheet in game is not perfect and i THINK is based on your local clock... evemon will show you proper times as it calculates it via rank.

Yah, got this on one of my accounts last weekend. The skill was originally due to complete 1.5 hours after DT. That's what the client said and what Eve-Mon said. I log on five minutes before it's due only to find that it expired during DT. 1.5 hours is neither here nor there (the char is an original ^2 character) but it was odd. -- (Sarcastic mission running veteran)

A couple times I have logged in the next day only to see what appeared to be my skilltimes having not advanced. I chalked it up to not paying close enough attention but now I am beginning to wonder if it is perhaps a bug that appears ever so often. Skill training is an arduously long process to begin with I hate to think it's been made even longer by some bug. I think I'm gonna have to start writing down my training times.

Have had several long skills that only show a couple of hours training time over a day or two of not logging in on that particular alt. The very few times it happened I paused training on the skill in question and started training another skill for a bit then go restart training on the problem skill and the lost sp time magically reapears. Sometimes. :( Its freakin rare though so I've never bothered to petition it. Since then I just remember after its time to log off for the night to boot up my other training alts and check the skill sheet. Seems to have solved the problem so far.

This has happened to me only once. I trained Evasive Maneuvering for the first time. However when it finished training, instead of being at level 1, it was at level 0...Had to redo it. _____________ Hai. |

Doesn't matter. The time it will take to complete whatever is left on a skill is calculated at the time you put that skill on. It is only checked again if you stop and start the skill. Since the skill does not stop training when you are podded, it continues training at the same rate as when you started it. You can get "free time" on implants this way. -- The Theorem Theorem: If If, Then Then --

Same here. Thought I just wasn't doing the math right. Luckily, it seems to be a random occurence, as other skills I train do okay.

I've had this happen as well, where a skill ended up taking more time to train than it originally claimed. Typically, the difference was just about 2 hours.

That statement is spot on. I had Gunnery V training and checked my sheet, all bars were full with "Completion Imenent". What odd, is I knew I still had a day or so left for the training. I let it churn another hour or so and it stay in that state. Checked Evemon to see what it had to say and it showed 1d 4h to complete. So I paused training, then restarted and it reset to 1d.
