um no :P why 3 RCUs ??
more like:
7x cruise, nos/salvager/tractor beam/whetever you can fit
x-large shield booster, boost amp, 4 hardeners
3x BCU, 2x PDU (or 1 pdu and 1 damage control for extra resists)

Runs forever with any Gist X-Large. 3 hardner setup is more than enough for all missions. (I know people who find 4 hardners more dangerous due to less cap recharge to keep booster running) You can make the same setup permarun with t2 X-Large booster if you fit 4 or 5 Flux II (if you want to run lvl4's semi-afk while watching tv for example, so damage does not matter much) --

true.. but i have never needed to perma run :)
gist booster will get you suicided probably so the t2 perma run setup would be better :) ---------------------------------- Yes... this is my main. Extreme Troll Slayer...

Better to avoid navy XL booster and navy invuln to lower risk of suicide gank since those + launchers make for a good target.

People suicide gank vulnerable targets. Like Freighters/Haulers.
A Faction Navy Battleship with a Faction tank is not vulnerable. :)

. Yes you do. It takes 5 - 6 torpedo ravens to suicide it before CONCORD arrives. Take a look at either Shinra or TRI killboards to see what those ganked CNR's drop.
And umm ... perhaps it would be sensible to get used to regular Raven before you sit into faction ship. If you absolutely must then my mission running setup is following:
7x Cruise II 1x Auto Targeter I 1x CN XL booster 3x CN (rat specific) hardener 1x Domination 100 MN afterburner 1x Heavy Cap injector II (5x800) 4x CN BCU 1x Signal Amp II 3x Warhead Rigor Catalyst rigs I + 5x T2 light/medium combat drones.
This setup offers optimal mission running speed while still sitting barely under threshold where it's sensible to suicide it. If you think you need more tank it's always option to go for tanking rigs and use shield boost amp instead afterburner and DCU II instead signal amp II. Altho for tanky missionrunning styles Golem might work out better for you.

As you can see even CN-Fitted CNRs get ganked.

Probably not a good idea to get a CNR then.
Why are people saying to use CN shield boosters? Aren't they the exact same as T2 boosters but lower fitting reqs?

Faster boost cycle, T2 boost amount and XL C5-L fitting requirements. Not any better capwise though but the fitting requirements are useful enough to warrant the cheap price. --- CEO

Not enough juice to 'perma-run' the XL shield booster, but then I've never found the need to perma run a shield booster, this recovers quickly and easily in short cycles when you need it.
That's a great gank target already.
7x50'ish mil 1x100'ish mil 1x85'ish mil 1x300+ mil 3x50'ish mil
Puts your mods around a billion. A suicide gank would cost like 250mil, so you're a pretty juicy target.
Quote: You don't suicidegank a CNR, too much effective hp. Haulers/ transportships have a LOT less effective hp..
And anyone else saying a CNR is not a suicide target. It takes maybe 6 torp ravens to make sure that CNR will die, I don't care what kind of tank you put on it, because only EHP matters, not how amazing your shield booster is (since the battle is won or lost before that thing pulsed like 3 times). The cost for a suiciding torp raven, assuming they recover no mods whatsoever, is like 30-40 mil (and they'll probably recover some mods). So 6 of them puts you at most at like 240mil. So a 1 billion fitted faction ship is plenty profitable.
Now that doesn't mean you will get ganked, if you're not in the super popular systems (read: any system that has a good Level 4 Caldari Navy combat agent) and never brag about your mods, chances are you'll go unnoticed. That doesn't change the fact that you are quite profitable to gank though, and that you do run that added risk.
The best way to avoid being a gank target like that (besides keeping mods cheap) is not working for Caldari navy. It's absolutely insane how many people will only work for the 4 faction's Navies, as if that's the only corporation that offers missions (and there are plenty of other Caldari corporations that offer the same LP goodies as the CN). This also has the added bonus that you'll be in a system where your mods don't take 5 seconds to activate. :P

Oh and it's been said before, but if you want to improve your tank and don't want to get suicide ganked, crystal sets are great (and cybernetics V also allows you to get other nice implants to improve damage a little. Although the crystal omega takes the slot for 5% cruise damage). It's just about impossible to lose your pod in anything but 0.0 bubbles unless you lag out.

Thanks for your *so* usefull contribution. I put my setup from what i remember, as i did not had eve running.
As i'm lazy i put a gist a-type 100mn ab on the last mid, but people can put whatever they wish, it will fit (target-painter, another cap recharger, etc... for example).

Your setup is a lie anyway. Tell me how you have the calibration for two CCCs and Bay Loading Accelerator please.

3x Caldari Navy BCS 2x Cap Flux Coil II

Isn't it a lot cheaper than that? Last time I ran the numbers it was about 15m.
10m difference between raven cost and platinum insurance cost and platinum payout.
Then about 5m for sensor boosters, target painters, BCS, and now extremely cheap seige launchers (and 18 rounds of CN torps for each launcher).

So you're using True Sansha PDU's instead of T2's so you can skip on a CCC? The very same True Sansha PDU's that give absolutely no increase to cap regen over T2 PDU's (they only give more PG)?
Impressive!
I love people who make up fully faction fitted CNR's that would be a suicider's wet dream and then make mistakes like the rig thing already mentioned or don't even know what the faction mods actually do.

Last I checked, it was like 14m lost on insurance (90m raven cost + 32m insurance - 108 payout). I think T2 siege are still 1.5-2mil each. Then BCU's for 1.5-2mil each. Probably closer to 30 than 40.

Your not using CN ammo anyway your using T2 rage short ranged ammo (or whatever its called, not IG atm).
Using fittings over 500mil makes gankers take notice of you, beyond that its up to your mods and how organised/risk prone the gankers are.
CN XL booster is 4sec instead of 5sec of T2, although unless you have the cap to keep up with it stick with a T2 booster to reduce gankable amount by a decent amount.
CN invuln fields are another one to avoid, 2x CN invuln + CN XL booster is enough to get ganked in a regular raven, maybe CNR.
I sold my CN XL booster and went T2 and havent looked back.
