Oh u talked to them today about the need to fix this... as opposed to the last month of days with god only knows how many posts regarding it. So nice of you to be right on top of blatantly obvious bugs!!!
Originally by: CCP Explorer The good news is that some of the issues you have reported have been fixed, either in Trinity 1.2 or internally and will be released in a subsequent update.
Oh yes that is great news... your working on it. A month wasn't good enough and apparently this subject wasn't worth a whole lot of time.
Originally by: CCP Explorer Also, for the issues that are still not fixed then there are workarounds. The Selected Items and the Overview windows like to stay together, as they did in Revelations and earlier versions. To avoid them moving around then keep the Selected Items somewhere at the top of the window and the Overview directly underneath. Make sure to not extend the Overview all the way to the bottom of the window since the Drone window and the Fleet Overview will open directly beneath the Overview.
So first you say some of the issues have been fixed and others will be fixed then you give us the precise workaround that indicates that nothing has been fixed. Super!!! WTG! Are you a Dev or a PR Flack?
Originally by: CCP Explorer I do appreciate your patience while we fix the remaining issues.
I don't have any patience for OBVIOUS *(@#%@)(@*# bugs being released into production despite weeks of notice that the bugs existed in TESTING!!! And still NOT FIXED a month later you (*&)@#)@# #@%&()%#@ hacks!

No, not Gallente Navy Ogres, but the 'Augmented' and 'Integrated' drones that were introduced a while back. They will show up under the relevant variation tab.
This means if you info an Acolyte I, you will see listed under the variations tab 'Augmented' Acolyte, 'Integrated' Acolyte and Acolyte II.
This functionality is the same as all other variation tabs, and has nothing to do with any other drones, which would be an issue for Game Design

Point is, they have no right to know. License agreements can read any which way they like, but they don't trump legislation.

Is CCP trying to put me out of business?
"Structures requiring sovereignty to be onlined now require sovereignty or they will be offlined, thus if the sovereignty is lost these structures will become offline."
Does this apply to towers in hi-sec and all the corporations I've anchored towers for? I am hoping there is a loophole since towers require faction standings to be anchored, and the above quote uses the terms 'sovereignty' and 'offline', I hope this does not apply to my service intentionally or unintentionally.

No. Faction standings and Sovereignty are two entirely different mechanics. In fact, since standings only matter in highsec/0.4 and Sovereignty is 0.0 only, they literally cannot coexist.
This means that if A puts up a cyno jammer and B steals sov without downing that jammer somehow, A's cyno jammer will go offline because they don't have the sov to turn it on any more. It also applies to other Sov requiring structures. -------------------- ICE Blueprint Sales FIRST!! -Yipsilanti Pfft. Never such a thing as a "last chance". ;) -Rauth |

So let me get this straight: Hundreds of complaints about the ALT key, finally ended with THIS post by Tuxford, only to have the patch NOT address the issue?
And instead we get the view from Explorer that
"Regarding the Alt key, I refer you to a post from CCP Tuxford. My personal view is that using overview tabs and Alt+Z work really nicely to switch between current bracket filtering and showing all brackets (note, you need to save an overview setting to a tab). I know that not everyone agrees and we will do another iteration."
You REFER ME TO THE POST FROM TUXFORD? In which he says it will be put back in, or made to work, but that he doesn't want to explain it? You'll do it in ANOTHER ITERATION?
At what point would someone LIKE to take the time to address an issue that hundreds of people (including me, who has never once except for this issue complained about something)?
Pretty please, with sugar on top, and when your poor precious heads don't hurt - explain to me why my ALT key can't function at the remarkably high level it once did.
I don't take "well I like the way things work now" as a suitable answer to hundreds of complaints for over a month when you've already quieted the herd with "we'll fix it"
I swear I've never complained on these forums about a single CCP patch, bug, etc. But these flippant responses to issues that have been driving your client base raving mad for a month drive me UP. THE. WALL.

That post was made how many days before the path? You want them to postpone the whole patch a month or more to get this single fix in?
I think it obvious from his post that they haven't even figured out the fix would work in their new system, much less implemented and tested it enough for release. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

Does this patch make automatically a safety copy of my boot.ini or Do I have to do it on my own again ? If it's not a build-In-feature, then this can be a feature request for the next installer-version ;)
I didn't read all 8 pages, but I noticed, that many people were already asking about the bug with fleet windows etc., but every statement of CCP inside this thread seems to dodge it... Can't you guys make a statement. This bug really ****es me off, and as it seems, not only me.

The following has been added to the patch notes:
Mac
- Added ability to turn on tracing similar to existing Linux functionality, so that Mac ISD Bug Hunter volunteers and normal users willing to help out track down problems, can provide extra useful information when using the bug report system.
- Several stability issues were fixed, resulting in better client stability and experience for everyone.
- Fixed the graphics for the Cargo Capacity indicator.
- Fixed an issue where the in-game clock would start accelerating out of control resulting in forced client restart and destruction the client settings.
Linux
- Added better voice capture re-sampling support to get voice input working with more microphones under ALSA.
- Several stability issues were fixed, resulting in better client stability and experience for everyone.
- Fixed issues with “open browser” links (such as when the autopatcher refer you to manual patching).
- Fixed several issues where the client would hang instead of restart after changing various settings.
- Fixed the Cargo Capacity indicator.
- Fixed an issue where the client would hang when clicking the Log off button on the ESC menu.

I havne't been playing EVE all that long, but I know the game has been around for years. My friend, whom I talked into playing with me, and myself find the level of quality in patching and bugfixing pretty low considering how mature this game is.
Often a patch seems to go untested before implementation and causes 'unforseen' issues. Being a software developer myself, I can see where resources might be limited and a complete duplicate system to test deployment on might be out of reach, but this really happens more often than it should I think.
But now I get to see how you address an unintended bug introduced by a previous patch: the overview bug(s) and its associated UI repercussions. Not only does this bug seem to go unnoticed by some customer support for over a month, but it goes completely unaddressed in the patch apparently as well. This is a UI bug, it affects how your users interact with the game. It is in our face every time we undock! How did this not make anyones high priority list for over a month and not make it into an emergency fix, let alone not even make the next regular patch??
Reading further in the posts, it seems this bug was even known to exist on the test server, but yet the code still made it to live release. WHY? HOW? Do you not have any QA standards that would prevent this?
I'm quite disappointed, and almost wish I hadn't started my 2nd account, but I absolutely love the game. I just wish a little more priority was given to *not* breaking the game when you try to introduce new features. |

Regarding your post that I've quoted, I have the "Selected Items" window placed in the upper right corner of the screen and directly beneath it the "Overview" window, yet the Overview still jumps to the upper left corner of the screen after each undock.
This started to happen after I have merged the "Broadcasts" window with my "Local channel" and "People&Places" windows (placed in the upper left part of the screen), and the "Fleet" and "Drones" windows with the "Selected Items" window (placed in the upper right, as I wrote before). Unmerging the windows didn't help.
Besides the jumping "Overview" window, there is one more thing - the sequence of the merged windows tabs (with the Selected Items window) is random after each undock (would be nice it the "Selected Items" was the one "active" after undock).
It would be really nice, if this issue would be resolved ASAP by your UI team.

If you want some info, fine. Ask for it as every polite and well-behaved person would do. But don't join the path of Sony and other rogue companies who tried that before. You know where that ended: lots of bad press and a class law suit.
More information as to how your going to collect the info and what exact info you will be collecting is certainly in order. Having a fill in the answers or a voluntary one time scan that tells you all that is collected and gives you a copy in a txt file is reasonable, automatic with no way of knowing what or how often your collecting is unreasonable.
from the eula you accepted:
D. Software Updates CCP may from time to time update or otherwise modify the Software electronically. You hereby grant CCP permission to: (i) extract hardware system profile data from your computer; (ii) extract information from your computer's file directories pertaining to the Game and your ability to access the System; (iii) download to your computer content and Game files and any data related to the operation of the Game. The foregoing applies to any computer from which you log into the System using your Account.
Is this a Joke???? Will we get compensated for our time if we don't want to continue playing due to this unlawfull crap!!??
Wait... [(ii) extract information from your computer's file directories pertaining to the Game and your ability to access the System;] my bank account balance and tax refund information have some bearing on my access to the game. CCP's EULA gives them the right to check my bank account balance? How about my bandwidth, and what I have taking it up? Gonna snoop my torrents too?

IMO, it's not a bug, it's an intended feature, and I'm not saying that derisively.
They had an issue they wanted to fix: the map buttons would be covered by the Overview for a lot of people who used the upper right corner. They fixed it by making the Overview windows and the Map Buttons attach themselves and move themselves out of each other's way. It does the job admirably, but it is more annoying to more people than the original issue was. They really don't want to change it back because then the original issue appears again.
CCP, why not put the map buttons in the TOP LEFT corner, right above the System Name and all that text. Have them move the text down, I don't think anyone has anything in that part of the screen. Then remove the code that moves the Overview around.

CCP has new policy about not specifying exploits and not allowing anyone to talk about them.
I see potential of great abuse here, just potential now. Technically, CCP can declare anything an exploit. For example, they can make it so logging off to avoid combat is now an exploit, they won't tell anyone about it due to new policy, they will just stealth nerf it and keep silent.
Pretty much any game feature can be decided to be an exploit, stealth nerfed, and discussion of the subject forbidden, discussion threads locked, violators banned. This policy is a tool that allows CCP to completely bypass the community.
It's like having secret police, at first it seems like a good idea, but then they take away your liberties, your rights, start random searches and executations, obtain total control of the public by fear.

Yes. It's exactly like that.
Except CCP doesn't control your real life. The most they can do is ruin their own game, which in turn ruins them because they lose profits from their client-base leaving.
In the end, it's a bloody game! If you're fed up with it, leave. Nobody's forcing you to stay.
