Which is it, are coalition still posting on CAOD as loud as ever or are they disappearing into shadows ? Make up your mind.
Maybe try looking at the sov maps sometime, most of the alliances that have disappeared off it were either BoB pets or drone region humpers.
I'm sure we all just love to hear from insignificant bystanders / alts spouting their ignorant heavily biased opinions on other people's wars, but get involved, get a clue or gtfo.
So what, are you like the next windypops or something?

And in the end, the organization that gained the most is BoB. This September will be two years since idling ended the crusade began. In that time they've obtained obscene amounts of ISK, fought and won thousands of engagements, killed trillions in POS and capitals, attracted hundreds of pvpers, challenged all the major powers simultaneously, won the greatest battlefield victories in history.
You say they lost territory and had their image shattered, but none of that is relevant when you trade it for that which I listed. The only thing that matters is whose got the biggest gun.
Alliances of alliances and power blocs will always rule in theoretical might, but they are formed and disbanded on the whims of a few elite. You create them for special purposes and objectives, but having one doesn't ensure your survival or identity.
That's all it comes down to; being the best in EVE is synonymous with fighting hard for survival. Those who don't care for one won't care for the other.
You're pandering to the public which alternates between 'omg BoB is so gonna die' and 'omg BoB is invincible' every few months with your stupid theories. Common sense dictates that if you drew a plot of E-Rep against actual military power, you'd have a sinusoidal wave overlayed on a straight line with positive slope.
The truth is, the enemy you're fighting now is a lot better and tougher than any point in time before it. BoB's reputation and image are merely products of public opinion, and even if by some chance your turbojet powered megaspin changed someone's mind, it wouldn't matter in the least.
What matters is what the enemy thinks. And if anything, this war has proven the theory of building an organization for the sole purpose of epic warmongering ten times over. You're essentially criticizing the base standard of fun in EVE.
Yep the party line is still as ridiculous as it was months ago. In truth, whatever is happening to bob is what they want to happen. If they take over all of 0.0 that's been their true goal since the beginning. If they lose all their space, then all along they wanted to be freed from the shackles of pos warfare and go down in glorious flames of glory, blah blah blah.
You lost all your space and diluted your "elite" alliance with whoever you could find. All your tenants and allies were destroyed. BoB is larger today due to absorbing refugees, and they are on a morale high but I don't see it lasting. In time the realization sets in that you have hundreds of pos's ahead of you to grind, most of them timed to come out at ungodly hours on weeknights and which require good participation to unsure safety of your capitals. If the anemic cap fleets you've produced recently are any indication, things don't look that great for bob. But don't worry, when the reversal comes and you start losing space again your leadership will convince you it's what you always desired and planned on.

The difference is that when we made our comeback we actually had allies around to help with the work load. Bob kind of threw those away as part of the grand plan, as we all know.

impressions of the unwashed masses:
This is like when the Federation re-captured DS9, forcing the Dominion back to Cardassian space. Starfleet assumed, quite correctly, that the Dominion made the tactically appropriate move, cut off from reinforcements in the Gamma Quadrant. Able to field a much more formidable defense perimeter, the Dominion dug into Cardassian space and was resolved to re-building lost forces, engineering legions more Jem'Hadar, and stockpiling resources for an eventual counter-attack.
As Captain Sisko astutely observed, the war was not over when the station was secured. StarFleet estimated only a short 5 year lull in the fighting before the incredible industrial and genetic engineering prowess of the Dominion would enable them to counter-attack practically unopposed, conquering the whole of the Alpha Quadrant.
There was only one choice. A final assault on the heart of the Dominion foothold, to Cardassia Prime.
Despite all the posturing, this war seems to be at a stalemate from the information available. The aggressor losing momentum while enjoying the spoils gained, the defender holding their ground and chewing up attackers while they prepare. A siege mentality is ultimately self-defeating, but if your enemy wavers in the determination of the siege, things aren't so set.
In all earnestness, all the epeen waving should be sorted out in one climactic ultra battle, to either break or be broken. In this unlikely scenario, many leet EVE superplayers would have to sacrifice many of their phat purple ships, and as mmo gamers we all know the needless connections we develop to virtual property.
Having lurked around for a bit, I have to say that this and the C&P forums are great for work entertainment, and I wanted to post in this legendary thread.

It's all the people here who CLAIM to be the bad-asses(the coalition just in case you don't know) and how they have said for YEARS they would kill BOB and such and such and such...
Here we are TWO years later, and their Coalition has been decimated, BOB is stronger than ever! And they are STILL posting on these forums about how BOB sucks and they are SO much better!!
I've watched all the crap posting on this forum for years and years and guess what....You guys are a f-ing JOKE! You had your chance and you BLEW it! Now its time to graduate from kindergarten and step up to the plate and admit it. But of course, that will never happen.
But seeing BOB still alive and you guys disappearing into the shadows is all the proof we will ever need.
And this is probably the worst.

You mean if BoB asked all their old allies like FIX, RISE, Fatal members to come help them retake all of the goon space, they would not show up? The real question is, will goon allies come help goons when the knife is on goons throats? IĘll bet KOS wonĘt.

To the part were BoB 'secured' 49-, quite funny you make that sound like a victory when we were already occupied with AAA attacking SV5 and taking down our JB network which made getting defence to 49- Harder.
Possibly if we didn't have AAA on our ass + the constant roaming gangs from BoB, Odessy (or whatever their called), Interdiction and the rest of them. We could of had a chance to defend our space. |
