So, is bumping freighters for fun considered a bannable offense?
Wondering because camping gates in empire can get dull....

I think that it is actually - you may not get banned the first time you do it, but you'll certainly get a warning for it. Bumping a player you can't shoot at is considered harassment I believe. ---------------- Tarminic - 34 Million SP in Forum Warfare Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.81 (Updated 4/8) |

More than any punishment, I'd worry about the signal you're sending out, by constantly humping some bigger ship's metaphorical leg. ----- In EVE - never bring a knife to a knife-fight. |

Bit over two years ago..Me and about 25 other peeps where running around Oursulaert area in shuttles bumping freighters. A GM came along and wisked nearly all of us to random places in eve. Some ended up in null space.
As I understand things, bumping a freighter so you can kill it is allowed. Bumping it over and over just because it's there isn't.

Sweet!
I'm going to petition everyone in the Jita 4-4 undock that make getting out of there such a hassle and have them sent to null sec. -------------------------------------------------- "Of course," said my grandfather, pulling a gun from his belt as he stepped from the Time Machine, "there's no paradox if I shoot you!"

Had a thought, how about bumping them as a form of economic warfare?

Well there's no in-game counter for bumping in highsec, so I would say it is still "illegal", even if you did want to do some form of "economic warfare".

I recall bumping a transport ship constantly in 0.0 a long time ago, because I could not overcome its shields and then bumped the guy till a blue pilot could help finish him a few minutes later.
In retrospect, I want to apologise, because now I see that bumping his ship was lame.
The transport ship pilot was coming into a system and cloaked when he saw me on the other side. I managed to decloak him after a minute.

I remember i made a super bump wall to stop enemy nano ships in their tracks (not sure if the GMs like me goin into detiails but it involved a hauler and some 300 shuttles) before our wartargets tracked us a gm popped all the shuttles saying i was creating lag. The trader pilots in haulers were stuck in station tho as they just got bumped like crazy by all the wall.
