Hi all,
I recently picked up an off-market item and went to Jita to see if I could sell it. Turns out there was a hidden underworld of buy-sell activity in the module, but only among those that already have the item.
I did a little forum searching and saw a few threads mentioning the same phenomenon. If there's anyone out there that participates in this market, can you explain to me how you make money at it? Presumably you do so by knowing the real value of the item, snatching up bargains and reselling at a profit, but isn't reselling a pain when the buyers are so limited by virtue of this game mechanic?
Intelligent input into this aspect of the Eve market would be most welcome, though will be grateful for any.
Thanks!

Hello and welcome to the Market Discussion forum. We are generally all out of intelligent responses due to lack of intelligent queries. If you would kindly insert one (1) product name and speak your question in clear concise tones our automated inventory system will then be able to process your request. Thank you and remember, we value your business.
To Shar -verb: 1 - To say what you mean. 2 - To say what it means. 3 - To say something mean.

It used to be possible to add off-market item to your Market Quickbar and trade it on this "hidden" market. Only people who had the item and/or previously used it to make Quickbar entry were able to see this market.
I know for sure, that the ability to add off-market item to Quickbar was removed few patches ago and I believe this hidden market doesn't work anymore (but I don't know this for sure). So your only option to sell/buy such item is Contract system (Auction and Item Exchange contrac types).
As for getting item's price - just open contracts, set it to all regions and search for contracts with your item - that should give you idea about price.

So I suppose people wanting a "Warp Scrambler I" just click the market tab, whereas people wanting a "Gisti-X Large Sandwich Maker" would need to search for it in the contracts tab.
Thanks for the tips.
