Edited by: clone 1 on 23/04/2008 16:31:15 Hi,
Just wondering was there any update on this issue, and when we could hope for a small patch to address this annoying action.

Originally by: CCP Explorer An overview of the Overview: Good news and bad news.
The bad news is that not all issues are fixed in Trinity 1.2 and some are still not fixed internally. But I have been talking to the UI developers today about the need to fix this.
The good news is that some of the issues you have reported have been fixed, either in Trinity 1.2 or internally and will be released in a subsequent update.
Also, for the issues that are still not fixed then there are workarounds. The Selected Items and the Overview windows like to stay together, as they did in Revelations and earlier versions. To avoid them moving around then keep the Selected Items somewhere at the top of the window and the Overview directly underneath. Make sure to not extend the Overview all the way to the bottom of the window since the Drone window and the Fleet Overview will open directly beneath the Overview.
I do appreciate your patience while we fix the remaining issues.

Similarly, wheneve I get a gang invite my overview and selected item box get moved up, with the latter practically off the screen.
Very disorienting and dangerous when ganging in the field.

OMG, this has to be the most annoying bug I've run into.
Not the worst one I've heard of, just the worst that has affect me.
Fix soon, Please

Funny thing is, CCP knew about it BEFORE Trinity 1.1 was released. Why was it not fixed in 1.2, let alone 1.1? --- Hoggs Co-Exec Heretic Nation |

13th March.. Reported on the Forums that the Trinity patch that DAY has this overview problem. 14th Match.. Declared an Open Defect, and posted on the forums that it will be looked at quickly. 11th April.. Nearly 1 Month later.. CCP Explorer reports that he doesn't investigate ever single issue himself and says he will report on it when he looks at it.. This response alone required nearly 5 pages of people asking about the overview issues. 14 April.. CCP Explorer reports that some issues are fixed in 1.2 and those that are not are fixes internally or will be fixed in future updates. A PR response if ever there was one. NONE of the issues were fixed in 1.2 27th April.. We have heard nothing since regarding the issue.

Would be just as easy for EVE to save your settings as you change them for each character in a folder on your computer and that way you can just copy them or back them up yourself. This would make your setting resident on your computer. Maybe they are and I have not found them, if so you can just copy/back it up yourself if this is the case then its not saving them to your comp everytime, but I have also seen this happen to me from time ot time.
I would hate to bad mouth them but the simple things seem to slide by them. Or I'm missing the bigger problem of the fixes may open up places for exploits and people manipulating the UI, but hey I thought thats why we have a test server. |

Happens to me also when i undock with drones in the bay. And when I launch said drones the drone window moves its self on top of the ******* overview. Cant click the warp button: its off the screen.
I have to alt enter to get the window right. I cant believe this crap hasnt been patched yet, it was mentioned to BH's on sisi when the boost patch first showed up. ------------------ For Medicinal Use Only. |

Yep, launching drones and the drones window disappears for a few seconds is very annoying.

Yes this is very anoying.
Most of the time I join a fleet, the fleet window & broadcast windows appears randomly around the overview / ontop of the overview window.
This can cause major problems, obviously, if you are in a hostile system, and need to spend 60 seconds sorting out your windows!!
Why the hell it hasnt been fixed by now, is anyone guess

May I repeat this simple question. Why am I still flying without an overview? As I stated before: if this game is to reach it's "market potential" it might be necessary for participants to be given a working overview

Yep, today is our 2 month anniversary, 2 months isn't exactly a milestone .. but I feel like we are going steady now and just feel I would like to get a 2 month Anniversary gift.. I am spending quite a bit of time with Overview or Oveee as I affectionately call her, and would just like to reward her for sticking with me all this time.
Any ideas ?
