Edited by: Amastat on 25/04/2008 07:10:06 I absolutly love EVE - it's currently my favorite MMORPG - however I would have to quit if EVE was reset. It was too much training involved, too much work.
Even on RPG's with a level system - when I hit the peak level I tend to eventually get bored, there is nothing else to improve on - and I don't really care about starting a new char and playing the same thing allover again.
On EVE, developing your character takes a lot more time (effortless time, but nevertheless a lot of time). In light of that, when I look at how long it will take for me to get back to where I was before - as on a level-based RPG, thats like looking at a long highway u have to walk again. On EVE - thats like looking at highway that circles the globe at least 2 times I have to walk again.
So - yea, I'd probably be very upset that it's all gone and lost forever and go quietly insane, and I would have no desire at all to redo all of it - and *cringes* find another MMORPG (Or as I would call it, find a 'comprimise')
I trust CCP will never reset, or allow a hacker to cause such a disaster. I think they are very aware of the consequences this would have on their subscriber count. However - the beauty about EVE is that it is virtually impossible, at the rate EVE is expanding and changing, to ever max out all your SP - therefore - I will always have something to work for, and thus will be entertained for a very-long-time. ____________________

i'd get large rail/arty/beam whatever spec out of the way quicker, and i wouldn't have picked caldari, i wouldn't have picked caldari if i'd know even if they came with double SP in caldari specific skills. _____________________________________ today i am this cool: [uncool]================[*]====[cool]

I'd have started earlyer (though i could have only squeezed another year in there by starting in 03).
I'd lower my charisma slightly and boost my memory a little.
I'd put in more effort, thus having a bigger wallet now, and so being able to afford the various cap and super cap skills i need right now.
I'd still be a ship ***** (able to fly nearly 80% of all ships in game), and I'd still be a female minmatar brutor...

If I could go back in time - if that's the scenario, I'd:
Cut off my excess Memory/Intel and have balanced attributes between Memory, Intel, Perception, and Willpower.
I would of focused strictly on flying a Raven (after learning), creating top-notch Raven SP for maximum performance - thus I would of made a large amount of ISK a lot sooner.
I would still specialize in racial t2, instead of training all races - however I would of trained all the supporting skills for the said ship(s) before the actual ship-skill. I also would of trained Gallente HAC's as a exception - Caldari HAC's suck so bad.
I would of maxed out my refining skills after I got the skills for a Raven done. (no waste over many months)
And I would of slowed down a bit in terms of ship specialization - on my actual character I did originally plan this, however I trained the ship skills first, and did specialization later - and I flew them while they were still training and still crappy to fly. I also ignored my own philosphy anyways to some degree and specialized in almost every t2 Caldari ship - however I'm still months away from having "optimal support skills" in half of the ships that are not already optimal.

you must be one maken character too say that. anyway i think its time for some skills that are based on time play or buy skills used through time. since the way i see it my time put in on my skills means little now becouse some guy like you or not can just buy a highend guy work him for a small amount of time then say what you just say ME NEED MORE SKILLS NOW i am board with no skills too train. never mined all the guys who still play hard and still got 3yrs worth of skils too deal with just so they can get a shot at a player like you...

I would have started this char right away instead of making other chars that aren't focussed on combat but rather support. While that can be fun this new character is WAY more fun.

Edited by: Ankhesentapemkah on 25/04/2008 08:20:59 I would fit guns sooner. It took me 2 years I think, before I put a gun on my ship. And back then, I was totally clueless combat wise, so I just put rails, blasters and even a laser on my ship at the same time. So embarrassing.

I have started again. I sold two characters I had been playing since August of 2005, kept three characters who work the market in three different regions so I could keep making isk, and started a new character.
I wanted to get a feel for the game as it starts now, and move away from carebearing to pvp. I remember starting back in 2005 with very few skill points. Those first few months were hard, but satisfying.
Things are easier now, but I still find it satisfying.

I would definately not choose Achura.
I mean, everytime Soporo looks in the mirror his hands tremble uncontrollably and he wishes to hack at his eyes with a dull rusty fork.
He walks the station corridors and small children run screaming in terror from his abominable visage. Women gasp, defecate themselves and faint in horror. Strong men glance at him, grow pale and stumble away mumbling hastily crafted prayers.
Hideous. Hideous. Hideous.
Soporo can afford to purchase huge warships and people it with the finest crews, yet cannot spend one single ISK for a plastic surgeon. Sucks.

I would do the same thing but with more emphasis on combat skills. It has taken me a long time to become proficient at combat but having said that, my character can earn a lot of isk quite quickly from mining to pay for the lost ships etc because I concentrated on my mining skills first. Now, when I lose a 100m isk ship in combat, it doesn't hurt so much, a couple of days mining, even in highsec and I'm back in my replacement combat ship.

I would have made a more specialized character and I wouldn't have bothered with trying to pursue a career as a courier - just no money in it even for successful couriers.

I'd lose some base charisma and balance the points into will power I think. I really wish that was an option sometimes! meh.
Otherwise I'm quite happy with being Gallente.

QFTFT!!!!
Not a day goes by that I do not wich I had found this game much earlier. That being said I am never that dissapointed when I hear an older toon whine and say they are going to "leave" the game. That means one less pilot with more skillpoints then me, well at least for awhile that is .
