What would happen if someone were to buy ALL the tech 2 bpos in the game and just sit on them?
It would be interesting. The person could control the output at their leisure, with only invention struggling to keep up with the massive amounts of demand that are needed.
It would be a really cool thing to own all of them ^_^ You could quite literally control markets at every turn... even with invention, prices would be sky high because regular invention production would be a far cry away from being able to meet regular daily demand.

Honestly I don't think much at all would happen. The markets are so saturated with t2 goods produced via invention that the effect of the t2 BPOs is negligible. As I understand it those BPOs have some really limited runs per day you can do on them and with so many others inventing it doesn't mean much.
At least that's what I've heard. It's not like I started eve early enough to actually get one of those isk printing machines.

Lets just over estimate and say a T2 Ishtar BPO can produuce 12 ishtars a day. Its a drop in the sea. There is sold 100s each day. Abstraction and Transcendence: Nature, Shintai, and Geometry |

If anything, it would be the T2 BPOs that struggle with invention's massive supply.
You could nuke every T2 BPO right now and T2 prices wouldn't even change. It's invention that is setting the price on T2 items, not BPOs. The BPOs might be able to produce a bit more effectively, but they are a very limited source of supply and have no reason to undercut inventors by more than a few ISK.

They would NEVER be able to control market prices (as they couldn't keep up with the demand of the market, that job is taken up by invention), however being that they could produce everything t2 at such great prices they would become insanle rich very quickly.
If you owned all the t2 bpos ingame, you could sit in jita, buy up all the resources so that you could build 1 of each t2 item type that day. The following day, you could take all the items you just made, and put them on the market for 15% below market standards.
within a day either all of it would be bought up by people who want/need it or it would be bought by inventors/traders who would then just relist it on the market for a pure profit themselves.
actually the more i think about it, the more i envy anyone who owns multiple ship/high cost/demand component t2 bpos

Something you have to consider is inventors cannot be spewing their products all over the EVE galaxy. There'd be a few corners that would be left out.
Plus, keep in mind that you cannot guarantee without it being a reality first that inventors are controlling prices. Inventors get crappy output generally that makes them spend more money.
Also, you need tech 2 components generally to build tech 2 items. Can you invent tech 2 components?
I'm fairly sure the market would grind to a halt and prices would skyrocket.

Theoretically that would have been a big deal once, but now with invention it wouldn't be (such) a problem.

The question is, Why you have started this tread when it is evident that you don't even know what you are speaking about?
Just to point it out:
- the BPO to produce tech 2 components are common BPO sold in multiple stations around EVE galaxy;
- inventors can invent all items produced by T2 BPO, in sometime at a larger cost, generally with a limited difference in price;
- when items have a massive request the BPO producers don't control or even influence the price, 1 Ishtar BPo can produce 1 ship/day, so at most 20 in all EVE, in the Sinq Liason reason alone the average is 8 ship/day through market, that mean at least 160 ships every day, discounting sales in 0.0, so BPO production is 1/8 (12,5%) of that. Hard to control a market when you have 12% of the production and if you don't sell the other producers can easily fill the slack;
- items with a small request, easily covered by the BPO would disappear for a period, and then be available at higher price to cover the higher price of invention. That if the players are interested to the product and the named/faction alternative aren't too convenient against the new price;
essentially the BPO owner would have spent a huge quantity of billions for a very small return, as the only gain in sell price would be on the BPO with a marginal production and only if there is not a reasonably aboundant named/faction alternative.
And inventors have an easier time covering all the galaxy, either with the finished product or inventing and producing locally.
It is way easier (if part of a large and entrenched alliance) to get the moon minerals and reaction products and produce directly in 0.0 from invented BPC than move T2 BPO in 0.0 with all the risk involved.

As already said, the most you'd expect to happen is a small spike in prices before new people start inventing to pick up the slack. Market dynamics ensure that as soon as the prices start to fluctuate, people will start to capitalise.
It would have been a huge deal back in the days before invention. Nowadays, all a T2 BPO is is a simpler and easier way of making T2 items than invention. A personal advantage, a way to make life a little easier for a producer, potentially a way of making a larger profit on T2 production, but not a major force in the market. ------

I doubt the T2 market would be all that greatly more interesting as a result of it. Though I do somewhat ponder the effect upon invention materials themselves once the news spreads.

The cost of t2 goods would rise.
What most folks don't realize is that many of the prices of t2 goods, especially ammo, modules, frigates, transports are much lower than the cost to actually invent and build them would be.
However I think that's a desirable situation. We need all the t2 BPOs removed from the game.

Well, let's see... if somebody would be crazy enough to gather all T2 BPOs and just sit on them... what would go on, eh ?
First, all those items that are "barely worth manufacturing from a researched BPO" would vanish from the face of the markets, never to be seen again... with some minor exceptions, where you could still find some for insanely higher prices compared to today, traded at insignificant volumes (if even at all).
Second, all other items that are barely profitable to invent, or not profitable to invent at all right now would suddendly spike in price too, up to the invention cost.
Third, due to slightly increased components cost, ALL T2 prices would rise a little bit more too.
Fourth... traffic between empire and nullsec will see an increase, as people start shuttling datacores, decryptors and T2 products from empire to 0.0, and materials and components from 0.0 to empire a little more often than they're doing right now.
In the end... some items will cease existing or at least become something of a collector's item (since they're not worth using at their cost), all T2 items will become even more expensive (especially out in 0.0), yet inventors STILL won't make a better profit than right now.
