I just paid 49 million for a frickin' propulsion jamming skill! Somebody give me a gun, I need to shoot myself! Watching the damn snooker and not paying enough attention to how many numbers were in the frickin' price! 'Miss trust' is a fair bit richer. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH! 'Desire the Right'

I've got a hell of a lot more than 49 mil kicking about, but in nearly a year of playing I've never had reason to warp scramble anyone. But for various reasons I decided that I wanted it now. Financially this major f*** up on my part isn't a bother, it just makes me want to shoot myself for not paying attention!

Petition it. Petitions have got dumber things fixed.
Gate sentry range was upped to 150km to protect against stupidity.----"Too many people were getting killed while AFK piloting"
I'm sure "Getting raped while watching guys bend over and hitting balls" should be refundable. I mean at least you were AT the keyboard.

She has quite a few items up in escrow as well. I have a short list of names to never, ever buy from. Too bad you don't see seller in the market easily.

All that would get would be a laugh from the GMs. They don't care about that really, it is the player's fault, not the game. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

Too many petitions about getting killed while AFK piloting is what got gate-sentry ranges changed. So, don't say they will laugh at player stupidity, they may continue to encourage it.

I'd never petition it. My own fault paying too much attention to the damn snooker world championship and not looking at the market in Yulai DED as closely as I should have been. You wouldn't think that it would be too hard to notice the fact that there were 6 digits after the 49! I just 'blindly' saw 49 thousand for some reason. Daft. Will be paying more attention in future! Just a thought, why not have a warning dialog when you attempt to buy something for a price significantly higher than the average sale price of an item (make it say more than 5x average so it only appears on ridiculously priced orders), there is already a warning when you place a sell order for less than the average price.
Obviously people should check prices closely before buying something but the above tweak would stop a few accidents and most likely be a very simple addition.

Aw, come on. Maybe you don't need the money, but think of the next victim of this scammer. It might be a month-old player who loses all he's got and decides to quit the game as a result. I've seen lesser crimes than this qualify as being an exploit.

Yeah, a month old player with 50m. Oh boy, and they would also quit? What a loss...
Why is this "quitting" business getting so much play?

Why do you people think this is an exploit? There is absolutely nothing wrong about what 'Miss trust' is doing. The market is 100% player driven and that means you have to be very wary of all purchases. Getting ripped off is a part of the game, just like sales in real life. A good salesperson knows how to use every advantage he/she can find to get you to spend more that the product is worth.
That said, I do feel for you Jec!

Sure, I regularly sell stuff for 10 times purchase or manufacturing cost. It's a matter of supply/demand, location, and finding the right deals. But somewhere is a limit where a good sell turns into a scam. At 1000x mark-up, I think most people agree the line has been crossed.
The next question is if scamming should be allowed or not. So far, GMs have taken a lenient attitude towards scammers, claiming it's part of the game mechanics. But imho scams are hitting the playerbase harder than many of the exploits of recent days (which I won't discuss because it's against the forum rules, but think Yulai incident for example), but with scams, victims are too embarassed to report them in any number. That's why I asked the original poster to send in a petition and try to make a difference.
I myself have been scammed twice. Once as a noob, purchasing frozen plant seeds at an overprice, intending to sell them a few jumps away for a good profit - only to find out that the buyer didn't have financial cover for his buy order. The second time purchasing newly introduced BPs at an overprice since someone had bought up the entire stock and placed them back on the market with a big mark-up. I petitioned both, and didn't get a refund either time, but at least I tried.
That's all I'm asking. When you're on the recieving end of a scam, file a petition. Show where you stand on the issue! If enough people do, there will be something done about it.
Call me a carebear if you like, I don't care . |

CAVEAT EMPTOR !!!!
Besides he got what he thought he was getting he just didn't pay attention to the price.
In other words this is no exploit and if CCP did give him his money back then I have several stupid purchases I want refunded....Where do we line up for refunds?

Its fairly confusing seeing prices with the trailing .00 after them anyway. Especially if you're used to using .s as a seperator for 100.000 (one hundred thousand) for example. At least petition it so all his/her escrows get cancelled/they get electrocuted etc. ..:: Electro-shock therapy ::..
