Hi I'm looking to buy a laptop for uni work and tend to stray away from laptops that have integrated graphics (shared memory). However a geforce-go laptop tends to be about ú100-200 more expensive. Now I don't really mind paying that much more but just encase eve happens to run fairly all-right on classic settings on integrated graphics than it will help. Any info would be greatly appreciated Thanks |

Im running EvE on Integrated graphics with horrible success. I have everything turned down and getting about 15 FPS in station with a whole bunch of clipping and odd looking things. Intel 915 I think is what it is. I heard the newer Intel chips are slightly better. If you like to enjoy the game, I suggest a Geforce Go. You will be much happier. Just wish I would have known that
Of course I'm just using this computer when Im on the road. Desktop PC is much better :P |

Edited by: Lyn Quan on 03/05/2008 11:43:20 Got a Dell Inspiron 9400 with an ATI X1400 (I think) Mobility 256 MB shared (1 GB total Ram). Runs Premium content fine - the only problem I had was getting the newest drivers as the dell bastards make propriety ones. But I found an utility that let me get around that so all is dandy now. Around 40 fps in station, 30 in space with lots of stuff going on.
Edit: Forget 2 accounts on premium though but then again it's an old laptop.

Dell Inspiron 1520 with a Nvidia 8600GT card would work for you. You can get one for about $13k (US Dollars) with the use of a Dell Coupon.
With a beta vid drivers from laptopvideo2go.com it can handle those massvie fleet battles down south or run two eve clients smoothly in empire. |
