Suicide Ganking: A term used by capsuleer pilots to describe the practice of destroying a ship worth/carrying cargo worth more than the loss of the ship to CONCORD enforcement.
Suicide 'ganking' isn't easy. CONCORD's response time is quicker than ever, and so much as jamming a ship outside of war elicits immediate, almost instantaneous, destruction of one's ship. In short, in my experience, the only suicide ganks worth the effort are pods registered to pilots with substantial bounties on their heads, and even then catching a pod is easier said than done these days.
The solution: Eliminate insurance pay-outs to ship losses due to CONCORD intervention.

Not from what I hear, actually.
Though I suppose it depends upon how you define 'easy.'
But from the stories I hear, and the numbers I have just run -- well, one cruiser fitting that I tried would be able to destroy any industrial transport that was not using shield extenders in less than ten seconds, though it is a very short range setup. But it could be altered and a microwarpdrive or afterburner added in exchange for only a little firepower lost, and a shield extender sacrificed. I am not sure how much damage the sentry guns can do in ten seconds, so it might not need the shield extenders in any event. And there are other cruisers that will take only slightly longer -- certainly no more than twenty seconds -- and be able to do it from range. The cost for these setups is quite small, I would estimate the cost of the modules to be less than two million at the most, though this is a mere estimate. And with insurance payout, the ship is not expensive, either.
For thougher targets, I understand that battleships are very viable and actually not too expensive, though I have not run the numbers myself.
Suffice to say, however, that it actually is rather easy to do. ________________________________ This is not a signature. |

My own recent run in with a Cruiser in low sec confirms that view. I was piloting a Navy shuttle while my comrade commanded an Iteron. We were both blown into space wtih missiles in a very short time, and my friend was unlucky enough that he woke up a while later in a clone tank... I think that the Navies should be given more leway, within their own space of course. is that not our job, after all? Theres talk of war in the galaxy at the preset; I say let it be a war against piracy! ****************************

If the CONCORD agencies were doing what they are supposed to, there would alreayd be a war against piracy.
