Aralis, Chief Executive and Commander of the CVA, stood silently far overhead, in an observation room above the station hanger area, a very slight frown on his face. It was an odd day indeed when an Imperial Emissary showed up unannouncedàfar more so when such a man comes unescorted by Navy Vessels. Aralis turned, and made his way to the reception area to greet this unusual and unexpected guest. àà. ôAralis, Supreme Commander of the most honorable Curatores Veritatis Alliance, Supreme Lord Holder of Providence, and esteemed Citizen of our LordÆs Most Holy Empire,ö spoke the Emissary in a deep baritone, his elderly features obscured in his traditional cowl and flowing Black and Gold robes. For an old man, his voice was surprisingly strong and powerful. He stepped forward, and stretched out his hand, the glittering Imperial Seal of the Amarr Empire on his finger. Behind him stood two large bodyguards, encased in the symbolic Praetorian Armor of the EmperorÆs personal Guard. Aralis bowed down to one knee, his head down, and kissed the holy sigil reverently. He said ôMost Blessed Emissary of Amarr, I humbly welcome and greet you to Providence. We live to serve, our lives are sacrifice for God and for Empireö. ôYou are well met Holder Aralis. Rise my friend, for if any man had earned the right to stand as my equal, it is you. We have much to discuss. Please, let us adjourn to a workroom post haste. ö Aralis rose, and took his place beside the Emissary as they began to walk, leaving the hanger area behind them. The two bodyguards trailed solemnly a few steps behind them. As they walked, Aralis noticed how quiet the station seemed today, as the passageways were unusually empty. Aralis escorted his guest to his personal conference room. While somewhat spartan in itÆs furnishings for a man of AralisÆs position, its functional design was obvious, a reflection of its primary occupant. This was a room designed purely for work, not comfort. Aralis gestured to one of his personal servants, who scurried away to obtain the appropriate refreshments for the meeting. The two men sat down, facing each other across the large dark Gosalavain ironwood conference table. As they did, the bodyguards and remaining servants left the room. No spoken order was required. Aralis waited to allow his guest the first word, as tradition and respect demanded. The pause, the quiet, was uncomfortably long. ôYou have done much here Aralis,ö said the Emissary, a slight smile crossing his lips. ôOn that I congratulate you, as it is no small feat.ö ôWe do what we can your Graceö. ôIndeed, but I am not here to discuss Matar bathing habits, or lack therof, of course. But I assume you knew thatö. ôWith respect, your Grace, I regret that I am at a loss as to why you are here, and more importantly, here unescorted. Surely a man of your position should have a fleet of escorts.ö The concern for the EmissaryÆs safety was apparent in AralisÆs voice. He was already mentally planning how he could quickly organize his own forces to escort the Emissary back to Domain space when the time came. ôIndeed, usually I would of course. But todayÆs circumstance require than I do not, for such a movement would be difficult to keep unnoticed by prying eyes. The Chancellor felt a more subtle visit more appropriate. For while I speak today for the Empire, my words and my visit, cannot be known publicly. Not yet.ö He said, that small hint of a smile resurfacing at the corner of his mouth, ôThat time will come soon enough I fear.ö ôI am here to bring you the words of our Imperial Chancellor.ö He continued, ôHe sent me personally, so you could truly understand the importance these words carry.ö

He knew you would. The Chancellor wants you to understand how proud we are of what you and your men have accomplished here in Providence. He shares your faith in the Holy Reclaiming, and congratulates you on your work thus far. The Empire is very proud of its sons and daughters in the CVA, even if we cannot say so as loudly as we may wish.ö ôAnd we are very proud of you Aralis.ö The Emissary added. ôYour Empire is very, very proud of you.ö Aralis was stunned into silence. Such words of praise from an Emissary, brought directly from the Chancellor himself, was as high a praise as one could get in these days. He was unable to respondà ôYou have served the Empire well for a long time Aralis. For five years now you have been a loyal and obedient servant of God. For five years you have worked diligently in the name of Holy Amarr, of all that is good and righteous, and your efforts have most certainly not gone unnoticed. After all, how could they?ö he said, gesturing to the station around them. ôYou and your menÆs success speaks loudly for itself.ö ôFive years of unquestionable loyalty to God and Empire.ö The Emissary continued, ôFive years of devotion to your men. An entire Alliance, an entire region of fellow Holders and a deep family of your fellow loyalists, all of whom would lay down their lives for you without a moments hesitation.ö ôTà.thank you, your Grace. I am only a humble servant, my menàö Aralis began. ôYes, yes,ö the Emissary cut him off, ôYour men, the CVA and your allies, are some of the finest the Empire has produced. Even if you do shelter a few of the heathen races amongst your ranks. Fine, fine men indeed. Of that there is no doubt.ö ôBut you Aralisààyou are a special man. Selfless, dedicated, loyal and pious. You epitomize the Amarrian way, you personify the greatness a true Amarrian warrior, a true Amarrian leader, can be. And I am here to ensure you know thatàamongst other things.ö ôThank you, your Grace. But if this is so, why can the Empire not speak out in support of our cause? My men have earned the support of our Empire.ö Aralis said, deflecting the topic from this unusual, unexpected and frankly overwhelming praise. ôI know,ö the Emissary said, as he bowed his head in a moment of quiet contemplation, ôbut it simply cannot be right now. You speak selflessly Lord Aralis, and wisely, as alwaysà.not for yourself, but always working for othersö. ôBut the time is simply not right for a public backing of the Reclaiming. As you know, the tension between our Empire and the heathen states is at a level we have not seen for some time indeed. Full scale war could break out any day, from almost any spark. The Empire must be cautiousà..we stand ready, but we cannot be the spark to this war. Especially not in these tumultuous timesö his veiled reference to the lack of a sitting Emperor could not have been more clear. ôBut when War comes, and we fear it may be unavoidable now, the Reclamation of Providence will be vitalàbut not as vital as you, Aralis, your leadership and your command of your menÆs enduring faith and loyalty.ö

The Emissary stood, and walked over to the observation window across the room. He was quiet for a time, seemingly in contemplation. Aralis stood, but kept his distance, as always adhering to the strictures of tradition and rank. ôBut while it pains us that we cannot change the reality of our current situation, we can, at the least, show you a small sign of our appreciation. And the appreciation of your men.ö The Emissary said, his voice growing stronger, ôCome, and see for yourselfö. Aralis walked quickly to the observation window, and stood in silence at what he saw. Arrayed outside were over four hundred vessels, arranged in precise military formation. He knew all too well what he was seeing, he had seen it many times before, of course, even if not in these circumstancesà It was the entire assembled might of the CVA Alliance. A True Golden Fleet. His menàhis loyal friends. ôI believe they have something to tell you as well Lord Holder Aralis,ö the Emissary said. With that, he activated a comcircuit. ôLord Aralis, I am Equinox Daedelus, Commander of the Legion of Spoon, and I salute you!ö ôLord Aralis, I am Pers, Assitant Commander of Imperial Dreams, and I saulte you!" ôLord Aralis, I am Lonewolfenight, Commander of Celestial Janissaries, and I saulte you!" ôLord Aralis, I am AntiReal, Commander of Member of Cohortes Vigilum, and I saulte you!" And on it went, the assembled masses declaring their fealty, their appreciation, their love for their leader, from the highest corporate Chief Executive, to the lowliest transport captain. One and all expressing their devotion, appreciation and loyalty to Aralis. Never in his life had Aralis been so deeply moved. His men, whom he loved as his own, and his Empire, for which he would happily die in defense, both showing him the highest respect and honour he could ever have thought possible. It was simply too much, and he was forced to sit. ôI have no words, your Grace, no way to express my appreciation forà.ö he said.

A token, both from the Empire, and your men, of your place and importance. Stand Aralis, and see.ö He commanded. Aralis stood once again, and gazed out the observation window. In front of the assembled CVA fleet floated a grand vessel, its golden armor shining in the solar light. It was a Battleship, in every meaning of the word. An Amarr Navy Apocolypse. The symbol of the Amarr Empire gleaming on its side. ôI present to you, Lord Aralis, the powerful Amarr Navy Apocalypse Class Battleship ôImperator Manusö. For truly, you are the Hand of our Empire at work in Providence.ö ôA day will come honourable Lord Holder Aralis, when all and sundry will know of your service, your sacrifice, for your men, your Empire, and our Lord God. But till that day comes, know only thisà.there could be no Reclaiming without you, and there could be no CVA. You are the faithful and enduring heart of Amarr here in Providence. For now, find your peace, and take your due pride, in that.ö ôTill the time comes, your men salute you, I salute you Lord Aralis, and your Empire salutes you!ö
