I hate it how they haven't updated the candidate thread for the past 3 days, and have a message saying "click here to meet ALL the candidates" when they haven't completed the list! GRR!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Goonswarm have the voting power to force one candidate of theirs into the council for sure.
That leaves the rest of EVE with 'only' 9 other council seats.

Personally I am going to wait until later in the voting "open" period simply to see if anything of interest crops up and sways my vote towards a particular candidate.
After all there's still people working on podcasts and other interviews with CSM Candidates. I'd advise people take a deep breath, step away from "its the 5th why hasn't voting started" and go debate something you care about with your favourite candidate.

In an effort to try and get a quick overview of available candidates and their positions on various game issues...

The CSM candidate QUICK REFERENCE CARDS
It's a one-post questionnaire covering a lot of "hot topic" issues discussed (more or less) recently, where each candidate can express his views in a concise manner.
This way, if you're not interested in reading the whole forum, you can make a quick pit-stop there to at least get a good idea who you want to vote for.
