Got a couple of questions, since I'm fairly new to the game. Also, not quite sure if this is the right forum, but here goes.
If I steal from someone, they are allowed to attack me for 15 minutes, I understand that. But if they attack me after I steal from them, am I allowed to fight back, or do I just have to take it?
Another question, building on the previous one...
If I am in a gang with person A and I steal from person B, and person B attacks me, is person A allowed to attack them?
TL;DR My friend has a stealth bomber and I have a Battlecruiser. How can I steal from people and then kill them in empire space?

No.
You would be allowed. Your friend would not.

as a n00b you are in a unique position
if you try stealing ore in a tech 1 frigate...
HULK MIGHT ACTUALLY TRY SHOOTING AT YOU
this is the point
1)Dock up
2)Get BC
3)????
4)PROFIT!
that ??? being eighter much pew pew and looting, or some pew pew and some ransoming and maybe more pew pew and looting

The main problem you have with getting people to fight back is that you have the word "trap" in your name!

O.K. here is what you do, two options:
1. Steal the ore in something the hulk is unlikely to shoot make sure you have guns on it, get shot.
2. Have a friend in a remote logistics ship nearby to repair you. This will flag him, but if he is tanked at all the hulk isn't going to kill it. Especially if its outside of range. It might want to fit a small gun to kill drones if it gets attacked.
3. Kill the target.
Option two
1. Steal the ore in something the target might shoot, get shot.
2. Have a friendly in a high mass ship continually bump the target long enough for you to go back to the station and get a combat ship to go kill the hulk.
3. Get in the combat ship and kill the hulk.
