Edited by: Deverian Tarik on 08/05/2008 12:59:41 I'm an avid player of both warhammer 40,000 and WH fantasy battle, been playing for about four years. I usually go to play at GW Aberdeen, though I havn't been for a while. Going to probably start going again soon.
The various armies I collect: 40k Imperial Guard (3000pts and rising) Chaos Space Marines/Traitor Guard (2000pts and rising) Tyranids (1500pts) Space Marines (1000pts) Orks (1000pts)
WHFB Orcs and Goblins (1500pts) Empire (1000pts) Vampire Counts (1000pts)
And I hope to eventually get at least 1000pts of every army for both systems. And will probably start Battlefleet Gothic and Necromunda in the forseeable future.
Yes, I'm an addict.

Used to play WHFB, 40k, Bloodbowl, WH40k, Battlefleet Gothic and battletech.
I still have my High Elf Bloodbowl team and a fairly sizable Battlefleet Gothic fleet (BFG is IMHO one of the best GW games out there. The forced movement and varying firepower/armor adds a lot of tactical depth that's missing in 40k. And its far cheaper and easier to collect when compared to 40k and WHFB) ______________________________________________ -You can never earn my respect, only lose it. Used to play a bit of Games Workshop back when I was younger. Had an Imperial Guard and an Ork army (with a small force of Tau, too), and a Dark Elf army. I also had a Human team and an Ork team for Blood Bowl, which was an awesome, awesome game.
Stopped playing when I realised that ú6 for a 1.5 inch piece of moulded metal and plastic was an inhuman crime. ------

hmmmm ...
I guess I was a little confused by the term Table Top Gaming.
Never played any of the games I heard mentioned here.
Back in high school in the late 60's I started war gaming but that was with hexagonal grids and square cardboard counters. I also played a little bit with miniatures. Modern warfare, Ancients and one game of Napoleonic's.
We also played some compass and protractor Naval games. Just rule books, odd sided dice and sheets of paper.
Sadly the only rule book names are I remember were for the Compass and Protractor game - Warship Commander and it's follow on.
Back in college, me and my war gaming buddies would drink beer Friday night and solve all the world's problems, play war games Saturday night and do home work Sunday night.
My buddies were mostly model builders too so they were into painting up all the figures we used but I didn't do to much of that. Just sorta got away from models after high school.
Eh.

Used to play alot, some GW mainly WHFB and 40k/Epic back in rogue trader days and ofc Confrontation which was published in white dwarf and was really cool then it led to that necromunda crap, also Avalon hill board games and ofc Battletech (FASA BTech) not that crap from wizkids, ever see inner sphere 3025 drones carriers take out mad-cats?
Recent years have been playing B5 wars even did some work on converting rules and eve ships to the system but not alot of time on my hands these days.
Really looking for a copy of kingmaker board game if anyone has one they would part with.

Edited by: Elphy on 09/05/2008 10:40:47 Used to play Games Workshop stuff until they dumbed it down and over priced it all and a bit of battle tech.
Still dig out Blood Bowl since its quick and easy to teach to people and can gets people up cheering for their team.
Its becoming very hard to find non GW stuff as alot of independents I shopped in when a wee nipper have vanished and of course not that many younguns want to build, paint and use figures over putting a disc in a console and going at it. Shame really as it was a good way to meet people of similar interests and have something to show for your hours of work.
Ran some D&D at uni which was funny:
GM "The group of rather annoyed goblins starts running towards your party" Half Elf Ranger "Can I run faster than the rougish halfling?" GM "Of Course... why?" Half Elf Ranger "No reason really, just means that they won't be having Half Elf for dinner tonight" Halfling Rogue "I will stab you in the eyes as you sleep and dance around with them doing impressions of your mother" Half Elf Ranger "Not if your stew you won't"
Good times
So now I just blow up internet spaceships myself, a hypocrite in its purest form.

Now the question is, how many of you guys have ALL of your miniatures painted?
My best was a Blood Angels chapter that was over 5000 points and I still had 4 tanks being made and enough parts for another 3 full squadrons of troops. I sold the army years ago and even now I occasionaly find another soldier that was left behind in some random box.

If there ever was someone that got them all painted, everything would instantly be changed and they would have to start all over.

Have a nice 1,500pt army of Tyranids sitting on my shelf up there, and started to collect Battletech for a while, but didn't quite get into it.
MechCommander 2 settled my satisfaction for the Battletech series. Ah, a good game.
