As title says, what set of skill implants to use for a Drake?
Currently I have HAM wires in my head: 10 ROF 6 ship agility 7 missile speed 8 AB/MWD speed 9 explosion velocity
As I am slowly finishing L3 and planning L4 on my Khanid pet I can either go with HM Drake while training for Khanid ships or do excursion into Ravens (which looks more like CN Ravens to be worth it or more like T2 torps and that is long time).
In case I decide to stick with Drake, what set of implants should I look at?
So far it looks like: 10 ROF 6 ??? ?cap recharge? (hardeners may not permarun so it helps but it is almost as useless as the rest of choices) 7 ?HM damage? (alternatively shield capacity but if I need more tank, replacing BCU with SPR seems better choice) 8 ??? ?explosion radius? (I doubt drake in L4 needs this but nothing else makes much sense) 9 shield recharge
What do you have in your head?

there's also one to go with shield capacity (don't remember which slot though)

6 : PG-4 or PG-8 - allows you to easily fit 7x HML-II and 3x LSE-II if you have decent fiting skills 7 : ZMH2000 (heavy missile damage) or KVA2000 (shield capacity) 8 : ZMA1000 (guided missile precision) 9 : KYA2000 (shield recharge) 10: ZMM1000 (launcher ROF)

Are 3x extenders really superior to 2+2 hardeners?
My EFTfu indicates otherwise. It seems too tight fit for little or no gain - unless you want to carry DG invulnerability field or have omnitank.

The TP doesn't help you much in L4s. It only helps with frigates, but those are better left to the drones anyway. Now, let's say you have a Guristas mission (for which the Drake is particularly well suited). Try entering a typical Guristas damage profile (anything from 65k/35t to 75k/25t) with 3LSE/3hards compared to 2LSE/4hards and tell me what you see for both effective HP and tanked damage.

Edited by: Forge Lag on 08/05/2008 14:09:52 I wish to thank you for the implant suggestion. Regarding setup, as said my EFTfu seems to elude me today or the common sense does.
Try it yourself (65kin, 35th, all lvl V, 2x SPR II, 3x CDFP I).
2x LSE II + 2x kin II + 2x the II: 857 def 3x LSE II + 2x kin II + 1x the II: 771 def 3x LSE II + 1x kin II + 1x the II + 1x DG inv: 826 def

Hmmm... actually, you were right and I was wrong. I just checked again
I made the mistake of focusing on the Drake build at "my skills" instead of "all L5 skills", and not revamping it as I grew in skills... I completely discounted the idea of 4 hardeners a long time ago, when my capacitor skills were lower, barely enough to keep 3 hardeners perma-running, so it didn't even occur to me to fit 4 ACTIVE hardeners on a dual-SPR Drake again, and misremembered the reason, never checking again.
Long story short, KMB + high cap skills + 2 LSE + 2 SPR + 4 hardeners for tank is better indeed. And a lesson to the rest, if somebody is usually right, it doesn't mean he's always right. Case in point, me, here, just before now
