Currently the only way to know you're being scrambled is to either try to warp and fail or look at the overview and see who has the icon for it. There's a few big problems with this.
- You must have the overview open (though you probably will).
- The icon is about the size of a hair and when overlaid on text it is very hard to see, let alone distinguish from other icons.
- More entries on the overview means more to look through.
- It's entirely possible to not even have the person who is disrupting you on your overview.
- I don't have enough to get panicked over yet, I need another flashing red thing to freak me out.
Here are some examples of what could be used to indicate the fact that your legs have been cut off and your limbless body is about to be eviscerated by a pack of dogs while you wail helplessly:

I like this idea!
In particular, just to add more flashing red things, perhaps have the speedometer pulse from its normal white-ish color to red at a rate of 2 or 3 times per second. And a sound effect to go along with it. |

Yes, or like your whole screen flashes red really fast and the screams of the nonbelievers are blasted at full volume and your mouse starts catching fire... though I guess that would be redundant to what already goes on in my head when I PvP. You know, making the other, less important effects "less important" on-screen could also help distinguish things that actually matter. For example, it doesn't help to know the deimos that's ripping you apart is using a sensor booster and - gosh! - a tracking computer, too! ... when really you'd like to just know who is stopping you from escaping. |

+1 for extra notifications
make the speed indicater background in HUD flash in different color for webbing and scrambling. higher frequency meaning more effects being applied to you. inifinite scrambling constant background light on. ability toggling this on/off would nice.
audio should definitely be optional. another sound category / more granular settings would be great. check the moderated 10000 papercuts evelopedia page! http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Little_things_and_ideas_-_low_hanging_fruit_-_10000_papercuts comment, bump(!) and like what you like |

I don't know about all forms of e-war (although i suppose you could disable them individually) But yeah, something like your spedometer turning from blue to red if you're unable to warp or something would be good.
Would especially be useful for if you're burning out of a bubble. As it stands, if you hit warp too early, you gain agression. If you warp too late, you have increased potential to be tackled by something else.
An easy UI fix that would add information without complexity.

Agreed that the small icon's are most of the time hard to read.
I would like the Eve Ship voice to say "Warp Drive Disabled" when a player tries to warp and can't because of a bubble or a scrambler.
It would also be easier to read the small ECM/Damps/webs/point icons if they were placed somewhere other than inside the overview rows. Perhaps it would be better if they were just outside of and to the left of the overview to signify which object is culprit. |

el alasar wrote:igher frequency meaning more effects being applied to you. inifinite scrambling constant background light on.
Frequency is good after you're familiar with it, but it might be clearer if, say, when you're disrupted the speedometer turns yellow, whe n infinitely disrupted or in a bubble then it flashes yellow, when scrammed it turns red. While scrammed, you are necessarily disrupted and overriding the yellow makes sense.
I'd also like to see something a little more indicative of ECM than just not being able to target anymore. While the message "already targeting 0, which is as many as your ship can", you won't find our until you try to target something and the time-bar adjacent to the status dial isn't very helpful, as it shows up also for TD/TP/whatever.
What could add to the effect ("SON OF A ***** ECM IS OP *RAGEQUIT*") is when ECMd, your target list is filled with many entries of "unknown target" and the image is replaced with static or something. You'll know damned well you won't be targeting anything and it'll make it clear that you were just shut down instead of just dampened or moved out of rage. More importantly, you'll know you can try targeting again because the fake targets will have disappeared.
For tracking disruption, all turret modules could be outlined or overlaid in yellow.
When nossed or neuted (you're losing cap either way) the capacitor dots could turn red or flash between yellow and red. Or, maybe, whatever amount was lost to these effects turns red before disappearing so you can immediately gauge what rate you are losing to EWAR rather than normal operation. Support gains from logistics could appear blue before turning yellow in the same manner so that you can also immediately gauge what you are gaining besides normal recharge or cap boosters.
I can't really think of anything intuitive for painting/webbing/dampeners.
I'd also really appreciate if when you are receiving support from someone who is targeting you and not also taking harm from them that you would be "greenboxed" or "blueboxed" so you could immediately determine that it's time to tell your pirate friends to shoo... I mean, you could tell that this person is targeting you to your benefit.
Regardless, I really think it's about time the UI was less ambiguous about the effects you're receiving. Warp drive failure indicator: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=887805#post887805 |

But then it would be more difficult to see which enemy is doing the webbing, pointing, or EWAR. Better to have it linked to those responsible somehow. |

Well, right. Keep the icons in overview, I just want a very clear indicator that I am being scrambled and I need to start acting like an animal trapped in a corner. Warp drive failure indicator: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=887805#post887805 |

Hopefully no one, and I'd expect they would have more to worry about, but something as critical as "you can't run away so you need to quit fooling around" shouldn't be relegated to a tiny icon on a window notorious for jumping around quickly and often being so overpopulated you have to scroll through it.
I'd also like to see something indicating a fleet member is disrupted in Watch List and EWar specific broadcasts (point this, web this, neut this). Warp drive failure indicator: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=887805#post887805 |

The frustrating thing is a lot of good ideas drop out of discussions because it's easier to rail against something than it is to support it on a forum. Warp drive failure indicator: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=887805#post887805 |

I suppose the trollface should be reserved for ECM. That's not to represent the play, it's to represent the ******* who thought ECM was a fair thing to have and implement. Warp drive failure indicator: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=887805#post887805 |

I *would* like to be able to better discern those ships that are actively interfering with my ability to escape. That's crucial information. The pop-up text warnings that you are warp disrupted disappear too quickly to be of use...in most battles you don't even have time to see them.
Let's add an overview option for ships applying various effects, instead of just the icons. That way someone who is concerned about it can set it so that, for example, anyone applying a warp disruptor to them flashes black (or whatever color they want).
Also, I like the idea of turning the "speedometer" different colors. Yellow for being webbed, red for being disrupted.
Two seemingly simple changes that greatly increase a pilot's awareness on the battlefield. |

Maybe the option to force to show when someone is disrupting/EWAR on you (if for some reason they're not appearing on overview) and move them to the top of the overview list. It's easy for people with medium experience to make a mistake on overview settings, or anyone who's venturing into new territory (PvE'ers stepping into PvP). I recently lost my newly fit Navy Domi, cause I did order a fleet warpout when I didn't realize I was disrupted. Sadly, I was unable to destroy the disruptors before I was gone :( (L4 with sudden aggro on the wrong ship. And yes - I'm a noob)
The in-space interface is a mess in general. I like the idea of a red text above your shield meter to show the active "debuffs" on you. I mean - we can learn from other games interfaces, can we... (and no - those little grey bars don't count) Just show me - I'm currently scrammed, nos-ed and weapon disrupted. The problem, that finding those enemies in the overview is hard is on a whole different level from there! But the general information needs to be visible ALL THE TIME - even when the overview holds more entries than it can display at that time. |
