I expect upon seeing this post the devs will immedietly implement said ship. - Violence isn't the answer, it is the question. The answer is yes. |

Well... Maybe, at some point of the game, a new patch will introduce t2 versions of the latest-added battlecruisers. That way we would see t2 Myrms, Hurricanes, Harbringers and Drakes.
Who knows

I think it's a ways off. Ship introductions aren't that common, aside from the larger patches. If they were introduced, I'd imagine them being heavier slower versions of HACs. Realistically, to serve a purpose, they'd need to deal comperable dmg to a T1 BS, tank like a T1 BS and have some special ability aside from leadership...
Sounds pretty close to a BS. =\

A T2 Drake would only make the Nighthawk redundant. I WOULD welcome a T2 Drake that replaces the NH (7 or even 8 launchers, Kestrel-like damage bonus, no RoF bonus but a missile flight speed bonus instead, inherit the resists and precision bonuses the NH has now)... but only if they'd repurpose the Nighthawk as a gunboat (7 or 8 guns, dual 10% optimal bonus, one 5% damage bonus and the resists bonus). But then again, it would leave the Vulture kind of useless for anything but fleet support... so I have split feelings about it. As for the Minnie and Amarr T2 versions... hmm... talk about even more redundancy.
Nah, I really can't see any new command ships being needed. Now, a whole NEW class, not necessarily dedicated to versatile firepower but something more subtle... like, say, logistics, EWar or interdiction, even some weird mix between them (anything from "area of effect" repair to POS-like shield projection... grid-wide warp scrambling, webbing or target painting... or even area of effect CLOAKING), now that would be something.

Heavy logistics.
Srsly.
Just like with the dictor, which gave the ability to project tackling in a small fast gang, but was too easily killed in bigger scenarios, we now how the heavy dictor, which was a heavy-tanking low-mobility version. It made sense.
There already is a heavy assault/CBC line filled up, we DONT need heavy recons to be honest. Heavy logistics, on the other hand, makes sense. The current logis, especially the scimitar, are fantastic in mobile situations and nano gangs.
But in BS rr gangs, there is an issue of short range reps. If there was a heavy logistics that could tank like **** and project maybe 6 large reps (2 more than a normal logistics) and 5 med/heavy armor rep bots (bit more than current logis, same as many bs) to good range, while being eaily repped themselves due to T2 resists and BC HP, it would be a great part of sub-capital remote repping, not to mention handy for POS.
And guess what, two of the Tier 2 bc already have tank bonus! Perfect. Sorry to hurricane and harby pilots who lose two weapon bonuses mind. _______________________________________________ Mercenary Forces |

Well I would agree that it would make a little more sense if the nighthawk used the drakes model since they both use missiles. But if they did that to the other field command ships it wouldn't match up since its the eos is more of the drone ship and its a fleet command ship. I don't think it would make much sense to mix and match the model change.
What akita says about screwing up invention makes sense too.

As for a T2 class of the Myrm, Drake, Hurricane, and that amarr thingy.. It would be interesting to see a smaller variation of the Dreadnaught designed for small scale fleet defense, capable of using a 'deploy' type module where it becomes an immobile, heavily tanked weapon emplacement useful in smaller scale combat like defending mining operations, gate camps, and taking out POS defenses.
theorycraft effects for this ship in a deployed state would be increased armor/shielding, immobility, and increased weapon range.
This would be sweet. I would immediatley give up all plans to train for one of these. _____________________________

I would expect a T2 Harbinger to deal no less than 10,000DPS. Unfitted.

I want to see Tech2-Tier2 battlecruisers as spinal-mount siege platforms. 1 XL weapon, able to use siege mods but ineffective at swatting smaller ships. Would make a great addition to a roaming gang hunting carriers/moms or highsec POS sieges if it could do more DPS than a BS but only under certain circumstances (locked down/stationary large target). ----------
