Well Jove space is CCP space...well not every1 likes it but the "gods" are mostly not reachable
As i mentioned before in a thread which i can't find i added the idea of maybe adding a paralel universe or adding some more high sec/low sec areas! The paralel universe should be reachable both from high, low and 0.0 Sure to the same area like the player left from.
Means this new area is reachable via some kind of stargates! Would give the game more hugeness and add many new possibilities to the game to evolve that area in different ways. Vote me for CSM! |

Personally I dont think EVE is ready for opening up Jove space yet.
Remember the BIG picture...
It would not just be a matter of opening up the space, it would also be a matter of suddenly interacting with a until now reclusive race (aka non-implmented) with what that all entails.
It will take *alot* of work before we are ready to interact with the Jove's in any (EVE) meaningfull way.
If it's simply a matter of having more space for us to roam around in, then it's (relativly) pretty simple to simply add some more solar systems, and invent some backstory reasons for why they are suddenly there.

the only joves flying around are the devs/ccp's
i find that rather a nice idea. lets keep it that way.
the joves will share their technoogy with us when we are grown up
as i see it that will last a couple of hundret more years recruiting -forum

You find it a good idea that devs are the only ones in jove space, i dont know what your on but can i have some? It baffles me that a section of the game is limited to a minority. I say its about time something was done to allow the people that pay for this game access, even if that access is limited.

if you gain a majority for this we will bring it up despite our own opinion.
I have strong doubts though, that this will be the first "issue" to tackle in this ocean of issues.

the problem as i see it is only that at the moment jove tech is far superior to anything the other factions have come up with so theres a balance issue there, but as far as story goes the jove have been lurking in the shadows so to speak for long enough its high time in my opinion for them to come out and play and maby share some of their toys with the rest of us.
and if theres a candidate that feels similarly theyve got my vote.

Way back when in the dim and misty early days of the game when everything seemed "just around the corner" and the Jovian presence was writ large on the public consciousness I remember an idea mooted for the implementation of Jovian player characters through the "genetic plague" concept behind their race. Basically existing characters could "mutate" into Jovian genetic strains through various means - implant use, drug use, experimentation, random chance, missions, etc etc. This could be a good or very bad thing depending on your characterization and roleplay and general wishes for representation in the game. You'd have a trait tracking your "evolution" into one of these scary bald industrially-advanced hideously ugly prophets of technological singularity and you could take steps to advance or restrict its development as you saw fit.
If it got to the point you were transforming into the Jovian Genetic strain you'd have changes to your portrait, penalties to empire standings, more expensive clones, the need for different implants and such and possible additional skills to learn that would be made available from doing missions and exploration in regions bordering Jovian space. Much re-balance would be needed to make the Jovian ships and equipment useable for these evolving aspirant post-humans reasonably-powered in comparison to the non-jovian ships, but with the proper focus and development detail it should be possible.
The whole thing would be a great roleplay/background campaign arc in my opinion and emphasize this "threat from within ourselves" theme of the consequences of genetic tampering and multiple cloning and would lead to some very real choices about the future development of our characters. Some would push straight towards the Jovian path for improved ships and modules and tech and pay the price of alienation from their standings and peers and begin to work for the Jovian collective while others would take steps to protect their "humanity" from this gradual slight into the jovian plague and genetic corruption that haunts their civilization.
Huge epic and deeply ambitious stuff - but hey, nobody said we had to think small.

have you been to lowsec or 0.0? it's empty. Why open up more space? - Violence isn't the answer, it is the question. The answer is yes. |

You could always put in the effort to get a strong alliance together and maybe even *shock* earn the space available to you. It makes perfect sense to have the devs be Joves. It makes things interesting for regular players and makes it easier for RP players to handle the fact that the devs can run around in Polaris frigs and deal with issues. ___________ I Get Money in New Eden Federation |
