Shame be upon cowardly pilot Abadoon Shardani of Corp Furor Arma Ministrat for abandoning 50 people to horrible death in space. Those 50 former slaves were rescued this morning and brought safely to our Matriculation center #2. Elder Gladius weeps when he sees how close to death some of these new arrivals were. Medical attention is being given and they all appear to be OK. Some will need time in recovery, though. |

I was able to procure two items today of importance for our team of former slaves as they prepare for the planetary colony to be built. One is organic soil samples to begin agricultural studies. The other is for our engineers, scientists, and software programmers. Coffee. Yes coffee. Now they they can broad over a rich dark roast as they study schematics and production schedules. The soil samples were received with interest, but the coffee was received with excitement.
No other rescues since this morning. |

99 former slaves were rescued from death today, including 10 that were marked, "elite slaves." We will let Elder Gladius sort that out. They are now being fed, clothed, undergoing medical exams and introduced to the leaders of the Center.

339 former slaves were rescued from a single jet can yesterday. It took seven trips to safely bring the whole group to Center #2. Edaine has arrived and has agreed to help consolidate our centers in preparation for the building of our planetary center.
I have decided not to list the pilot on this occasion because I think that the pilot may have wanted the slaves to be rescued. I came upon the gate and noted a blue coded container. I assumed it had been a Concord action, followed by a salvage operation, leaving a container that was abandoned. However, when I scanned the container, there were 339 living souls aboard. I knew that our GSC was near, and that if I could get them in there I would have more time and they would be more secure and comfortable.
The inescapable fact that the Disciples of Ston are composed of reletively inexperienced pilots was brought to home yesterday. I slap my forehead with my palm in self exasperation in not figuring this one out right away. What am I talking about? We set up a giant secure container some distance from a gate where slaves are frequently dumped. We modified it with living quarters in hopes that pilots would bring their slaves there instead of using fragile jet cans.
Stupid me. All anchor-able containers use Plank field generators for matter compression. Duh, what was I thinking. I am very thankful that the safety protocols of the container transporter interface prevented the transfer. We called on Edaine, and he arrived and promptly removed the container. How did I miss this one. This is elementary physics. I used a regular, but fresh jet can to keep them alive while I began the 7 trips back to the center.
This is the largest single rescue we have performed since beginning this operation. While relieved to be alive, many of the former slaves were anxious about what was happening to them. This anxiety melted away when, back at the center, they were greeted by other, former slaves and by the Elders who warmly welcomed them.
We have asked Edaine to put his other work on hold and expedite the planetary operation as our numbers have now increased significantly.

Big problem!
We cannot transport these former slaves to the planet surface using the customs office. Import/export regulations make it impossible. I have no idea if it is even possible at all to get these individuals down to the planet.
I am sorry, but the disciples may have to scrap the whole planetary colony idea. |

I will be doing rescue duty for a while. Manwe is heading back to Rens. He tells me, that he will soon be testing some new equipment in high sec space before risking it in low sec. Good luck Manwe. I'll keep an eye on things here. I also have enough cargo space to handle most if not all rescue operations in one load. |

Due to recent lapses in judgment and progressive "slowing of the mind," I have requested that Manwe take all administrative responsibility of our Rescue and Matriculation program. When our organization began we saw unique strengths in Edaine as a pragmatist, Manwe as a rationalist and myself as an idealist. However, lately my passions have blinded me to certain implications and my mind has been slow to react. I am non-violent person, but recent things I have said may lead to bloodshed. This is not my intention. But, intentions aside, I bear the responsibility for any deaths that my words bring. The judgement will fall on me alone. I, at least, need some time off to refocus my mental disciplines.
I request that Manwe and Edaine divide the duties regarding the rescue and Matriculation programs.

Ston, you beat yourself up with your own idealism.
Imagine for a moment that you are a pacifist that lives in a society that still uses execution as a form of punishment for its worst criminals. As a pacifist, would you refrain from reporting a murder because the murderer might receive the death penalty? Some may answer yes to this. Those who hold to the most idealistic form of pacifism, may choose to not report the crime or give testimony against the murderer. But then they must live with their contribution to the continued actions of a murderer who escapes justice. But not all are pacifists in that sense. Ston, you and I are functional pacifists but not idealistic pacifists. Your heart easily bleeds and you easily take too much responsibility for too many things.
I can only presume that you are upset about giving the name of a slave trader. Worried are you, that he may suffer violence as a result? Let me remind you of something that every slave trader knows. When they choose to jettison live humans into space, they know that their deeds at that moment become public knowledge. Concord rules assure that they are clearly identified as the owner of the jet can used. Don't let your heart bleed for these criminals. They know the risk of justice. You are NOT responsible for revealing the slave trader's name! The slave trader is responsible the moment he chooses to jettison those slaves into space. At that moment any consequences become that person's full responsibility.
I do not believe that we should stop publishing the names of slave traders. They need to be shamed for their actions. If militias pick up on their actions, they know very well that specific risk at the moment of their crime. We live in a messy society that is not "ideal." Even the pacifist must choose from time to time to bear part of the societal responsibility for punishing the wrong-doer. We have to live with this reality, and it isn't comfortable for non-violent people like ourselves.
Take all the time you need to sort out your feelings, Ston, but I don't believe you are over the hill intellectually or in any other matter. I am sorry if I picked on you too much. Repeating what was already public record was not an act of violence on your part. You think that your action may cause bloodshed. I disagree. The action of the slave trader is the culpable action, and the slave trader is responsible for any justice that comes upon him for his actions. |

I have not rescued one person since I went on duty on rescue ops. Its not that I haven't done my job, in fact I have been visitting the hot spots more frequently than Manwe has. He just seems to have the "nose" for it. I thought I had an opportunity at one gate, but it was only a can of metal scraps. I should be glad it wasn't people in danger. I am just not used to the adrenaline of the whole thing.
I am doing some mining while out here to help fund our operations. We are going to need some improvements in equipment to make our work more efficient. Between mining runs, I check the hot spots. |

116 living persons; men, women, and children, were rescued tonight from two jet cans. They were swiftly transported to our Matriculation Center #2 and the residents there began the process of welcoming them, feeding them, tending to their medical needs, calming their anxieties, and helping them to settle in. Elder Gladius has requested that we set up an additional Center soon, as the numbers are increasing, especially at Center #2. We are considering two other locations presently and may be sending representatives to those stations to prepare space. I was able to rescue all 116 in one trip. I would like to encourage Ston to train skills so he can fly larger ships. This operation went smootlhy and quickly partly due to the size cargo bay I had on the Procurer.
May shame come upon the following two pilots:
Urmass Ottig, you left 49 people to die in space. You are of the Brutor Tribe, how could you do such a thing to your own brothers. Does the Republic University condone such dastardly actions on the part of its members?
Xara Fabiene, you left 67 people to die in space. You are Achura. I have come to expect better from that designation. (Corp: Interminatus) |

An interesting rescue occurred today. I was able to rescue 17 slaves. As has happened once before, the pilot apparently had an insurrection on his hands and Jettisoned 5 slave traders and 7 slaver hounds with the slaves. It must be a more common occurrence than meets the eye that slaver hounds are befriended by slaves. Such was the case here again. This rescue took place just before I needed to head over to Piekura for business, so I took the Slave traders on over to Korama to be kept at our detention center there.

We have completed the setup on our third Matriculation Center. Ston will serve Center #1, Edaine will serve Center #2 and I will serve Center #3. Ston will serve the smallest of the three centers per his request. All of us will come under the direction of the Elders and will serve to supply the centers with requested materials, transport residents to and from the centers per their request, and engage in continued rescue ops. Our duties will include purchasing necessary materials and hiring any outside professionals needed to adequately serve the communities.
We have placed the Planetary colony idea on hold but have not given up hope that someday we can establish it fully. For now, only very small numbers can be transported to planetary surfaces and only very secretly.
Once we have all three Centers up and under the administration of the Elders, we will try to conduct a census and report the data here.
We continue to request that Governmental authorities provide a means to change the legal status of these rescued individuals to that of citizen. |

36 former slaves were rescued this morning from the cold of space. They join the community in Center #3 and begin their jhourney into freedom, such as it is. The Disciples of Ston are more frustrated with the limitations placed upon former slaves than the former slaves are. They are such thankful people. It reminds me of how I felt when I was first free. I need to reclaim that simple satisfaction again.
While I do not mean to type cast anyone, I had been told that Gallenteans value personal freedom and oppose slavery. Why then do Gallenteans tolerate the slave trader woman Elisa Boirelle? It saddens me that someone would just eject 36 people into space and leave them to die. Your place on the wall of shame is deserved.

Another rescue of 10 former slaves this afternoon. Unfortunately, I was unable to get the pilot's name. I was targeted by what is termed in the vernacular a "suicide ganker." I quickly rescued the people and warped out. I was able to get the corporation name from the aggression timer, however. These were very frightened souls who were close to death. And the dispatch withwhich we had to escape the scene didn't help their anxiety. They are being well-cared for at the center.

Normally I don't bother resucing crew from sansha ships since they are just mindless.
Recently I have had a group of my loyal servants abducted by Sansha slavers.
Now I'm interested in the idea of processing them to recover those captured by Sansha forces, but don't have the resources myself nor the time.
I'm wondering if I where to start rescuing sansha crew would you be able to properly handle them.

I think that I am probably the one to handle this question. When we started this work, I contacted a friend in Couster who is a biotech expert and asked him about medical issues with former slaves with implants and other cerebral control devices. He said that technology exists to restore most function in most cases. I asked if he would be willing to assist the Disciples if such a need arose. The good Dr. answered, yes. We are prepared to do our very best to receive and help any Sansha crews you may rescue, Ms. Goldcore. I will contact Dr. Pimmere and have him prepare his equipment. Let us know when and where we can help. Thank you, Ms. Goldcore.
P.S. I heard about Tobias. We are all sad. But, we are also thankful for your kindness.

I am very excited to report that I was able to rescue 25 former slaves this afternoon. I happened to be picking up minerals with the Iteron V that I call "Freedom Train." When the former slaves saw this, they erupted into applause. I asked how they knew I wasn't just another slave trader. One of them responded that they had heard rumors of such rescues occurring but never dreamed they would survive and be rescued themselves. Makes the eyes to water just a bit.
The wall of shame is especially distressing tonight. I asked the mostly Brutor group of survivors about the slave trader. They bristled with anger. "He is not of our tribe!" Those were their simple words.

A PUBLIC THANK YOU
Sometimes things just work very quickly for good ends. We live in a universe where death happens in a blink and where destruction happens in a flash. Tonight, a good thing happened very quickly. I was working in Jita on our clone body return project when I received a mail from a pilot. He said that he had rescued some slaves and wanted them to have the opportunity to be part of our matriculation program. I happened to know that Manwe was close to his location, so I sent him a message to head on over. I just receive confirmation from Manwe that 30 former slaves are no en-route to one of our Matriculation Centers. He said that the transfer went very quickly and that the pilot was courteous and professional.
The Disciples of Ston would like to publicly thank pilot Mosfieri. You are a friend of freedom and a friend of mercy, Mosfieri. The former slaves who received your help will not soon forget your name.

Tonight a total of 213 brave souls were rescued from the cowardice of so-called "elite immortals" whose moral idiocy and greed exceed all bounds. I found myself hindered by my own lack of experienced and succumbed to what both Manwe and Ston have described as adrenaline limitations. I was in my Procurer when I came upon the first container with 203 souls aboard. I had room for only 200. After bringing them to the center, I wanted speed, so I took my shuttle. That was stupid, because I had room for only two passengers and there were three to pick up. The one who I had to leave until last was the eldest among the group and his name is Feanor. I later found out that he is the brother of Gladius, who is currently administrating all our Matriculation operations. Tomorrow they will reunite.
The second container was discovered on the last trip to pick up Feanor. I was in the shuttle and didn't have room again. In my anxiety, I accidentally closed out the data window with the pilot's name, but got the Corp from the aggression timer. The corp is only a two member corp, but the CEO isn't the pilot who jettisoned the people.
I am just glad, no one was lost in my string of errors. All 213 brave souls made it to the center. As for the "Elite Immortal Cowards" who left these brave human souls to die, enjoy your arrogance and self-importance, because that is all your character consists of.

I don't know if you already take advantage of this, but even a shuttle is able to create fresh containers. so if you come across a container with more than you can fit in it, you can simply take a few and then produce a new container. This way you can be certain how long they will last and don't need to worry if the last one will survive.
I wish you luck in your endeavors.

A good day, but a strange day. I rescued a total of 72 former slaves today in two separate operations. They are settling in in our Matriculation program and enjoying their first hours of freedom. We also rescued some other very interesting passengers who are being interviewed before being released. When I have information, I will tell the whole story. For now, I'll just say that we also rescued 20 Caldari Light Marines, 10 Janitors, and 8 more slaver hounds. We are trying to determine why the pilot just dumped them into space and left them to die. Only the former slaves are illegal to transport through free space; why would a pilot want to let Marines or Janitors die in space. It makes no sense. We are hoping that a few interviews will clear up the issue. The First rescue was of 59 souls and the second beside the interesting "cargo" was 13 brave souls.
Manwe will be serving the Center that Gladius is primarily responsible for and I will be serving the center that Feanor will be taking over management of. This is the arrangement for the time being anyway.

We now have the means to begin transporting former slaves into State, Federation, and Republic space via covert means. We will not begin immediately as I need to test equipment and figure out what to expect and get comfortable using it. We will start with one transport and them move on from there. It is likely that our first transports will involve reuniting former slaves with families that live on stations in Republic space.
If only the State, Republic, and Federation would provide a means to change the legal status of these people from slave to free person, then every one could move about safely. But the governments have their heads up their poop shoots. |
