Pathetic, while I don't condone his language or attitude yours was no better. Pirates ever wonder why so many don't pay look at the OP and you'll know why.

I always honor ransoms... though if someone decides to mouth off before I even unscramble his ass, he's getting waxed and I'll keep his ISK as interest.
Also, ISK given without request is a gift, begging for a ransom in local makes me want to pod, also I really don't care if you pay or not... blowing you up gives me the warm fuzzy feeling I love

Stop talking like you still pirate, its quite pathetic.
Look who is talking about being pathetic...
To the op, no matter what he told you, you made an agreement with him, smack is part of piracy, you either kill him or take ransom unless he calls in friends after paying at which point i would blow him up too. Not honoring a ransom just because he yelled a few bad words at you is a lame ass excuse and to be frank quiet pathetic (me looks at Dr Slice) ___________________________________

Thanks man, you did a good deed today!
If 1 guy came up to me and asked me for my dinner money, i'll tell him **** off an proceed to either knock the lil **** out, or get knocked out..
But on the other hand if a group fo 50 people came up to me and asked for my dinner money i'd **** ma kecks an hand over..
Veto on the other other hand (Yes I have three hands, honestly), choose the second hand
P.S. This is from my personal experience with Veto
I know I have to smack Veto Kehmor but i have to say that I have never seen a Veto gang of 50 people. Then again when you are a carebear and get attacked counting goes to hell and you see everything 2-3 maybe even 4 times taking actual gang size upto 50 in this case ___________________________________

Well it wasnt 50 people exact, more like 25.. and Darkelf (RIP) laid the final blow, it was around murethand and it was a frigate gang, but yeah when you see a group of people you assume there's more than there actually is!>.. took me crusader out because something told me to make a dash from 100km out to the gate, instead of warp out warp bk in >.<

If the guy had just waited till he was back in station, he could have smacked his arse off. It's his own dumb fault for provoking the OP.

Edited by: Judas Jones on 18/05/2008 00:59:32 The OP and several of the replies proves that you should never pay ransom's, can't be trusted, pointless paying as people can always find a reason to go back on the ransom after it's paid.

No, it proves stupid people die no matter what they do. Solution: Don't be stupid.
Guess this advice is falling on deaf ears though.

Originally by: KapnKaboom Ever run into a customer in lowsec that is just too stupid to let live? I know it's not good to dishonor a ransom, but this guy really had it coming. Posted here for the entertainment of all. As a side note, this particular customer's mouth cost him a T2 fitted mission raven.
Me > Greetings. 40 million isk to save your ship. Me > You have 30 seconds. Customer > why can't you asswipes just go to 0.0 Customer > I'm so sick of you*****sucking pussies ruining my game. Me > 15 seconds... Customer > I play to relax, not get harrassed by a bunch of prepubescent little ****s. Me > 5 seconds... Customer > there's your ******* isk, now go **** yourself Me > Pleasure doing business with you. Customer > Yeah, it'll be a pleasure when I have you bent over a table and extract my isk from you with a broomhandle.
At this point I decided that, rather than let him go, he needed to learn a lesson. So I popped his raven and sent him home on the pod express.
Customer > wtf did you do that for Customer > i paid you Me > I'm sorry. I decided that you were too dumb to live. Me > In the future, keep your mouth shut, pay up, and leave. Your ship will thank you. Customer > You didnt' have to pod me too. I had implants you stupid ****! Customer > you ******* pirates are all the same. no honor I'm just going to have to pay MC to hunt you and your corp down until you quit eve Customer > you're going to be sorry *******, you better just stay docked up forever cuz your a dead man Me > Let me know how that works out for you.
At this point I put him on ignore and continued my activities for the day. I've never been threatened by having someone hire a dead alliance before. My corpies and I got a good chuckle out of it.
Normally I'm 100% against dishonoring ransoms. But this is a perfect reason why the exceptions prove the rule. NJ. Bellum Eternus

could not agree more. there are very simple ways to remedy situations like this without dishonoring ransoms, although like everyone else, i also agree that he did deserve it.
if you happen to be a pirate who is sensitive to smack, then i suggest what this person suggested. upping the ransom price the more he smacks (as well as requesting polite dialog beforehand). it's a bit more time consuming, but it's worth it (giving him less time to hand over money can fix that). if you want to spend more time, you can inform him (in many or few words) that piracy always has and always will be part of any game that players can do it in. EVE is a game that gives you complete freedom to acquire wealth any way you want. That's why i like it.
