So, how to describe this?
We have been at war with xxx for nearly the full period now, however, the original member, xxx, has never showed up in a system close to us.
However, xxx, a unknown pilot, has at times joined the corp at "suitable times" Managing to kill a Hulk and now my Ares.
During the last battle, i engaged joined pilot at a station calling for my teammate to warp to me. When he arrived, war target deactivated all modules and docked, and again left corp. Due to me having aggressed her, she had a window of time to attack me freely without intervention from my arrived corpmate.
I brought this up in a petition and got a negative answer. Though i doubt if this really is the way we want things to work? Newbie, not n00b. Mining, Reprossecing and Producing. |

This is just the other side of the coin of that carebear sponsored tactic of ditching corp to avoid wardecs. It's seriously lame, but I guess this is what happens when CCP condones such tactics.

Pretty much what everybody except Joan has said so far. Joan is trolling - pay no mind.
Corp-hopping, it's an exploit of the game mechanic, it's NOT intended to be used in that manner (everything CCP gives us to read regarding wardecs speaks to the contrary of the idea that corp-hopping was intended - especially the knowledgebase article on corporation wars), yet CCP refuses to call it an exploit.
People have theorized that this is because the majority of the population is so scared to lose a ship in PvP that punishing people for doing this or changing the game mechanic so that it cannot be so easily done would threaten CCP's income. Personally, I don't believe this and would like to think that the sort of developers who have been known to say things like, "No, that's a stupid idea." would be a bit more firm in their course for EVE-Online, but I guess there just hasn't been enough noise made yet.
Or perhaps there just hasn't been enough constructive noise made yet.

I think new players still need a "get out of jail" card for corporate wars. I started with EVE a couple of weeks ago and joined a small local corp which within a day was unexpectedly targeted by vastly superior mercenaries. We can't fight them and I've been pinned down for a week unable to participate in the game. This has left asking myself why I'm paying good money for the privilege of being unable to play. Maybe if CCP changed the rules to protect new/small corps and new players by not allowing them to be wardec'd until they reach a certain size/experience it would then allow the wartime corp hop to be removed. At the moment my only choice is to forget about EVE or resign the corp. |

Unfortunately the CEO of the corp that recruited you is at fault. There are lots of small corps who prey on newbies and recruit them simply to swell their numbers. They are not aware that to suceed in Eve you need to be strong and able to deal with all eventualities.
Leave and find yourself a bigger corp. There are 1000s of good corps in Eve.Don't let your experience with your present corp ruin your game.

Noone is forcing people to join playercorps, so they should suck it up and accept the risk as well. imho people should be locked in their corp for a week, before being allowed to bail again.
how its any different from the alliance exploit, i seriously fail to see :( pity ccp/gm's just dont get it.

It's different from alliance-hopping in that alliance-hopping renders a corp's POS immune from harm while it is still able to be continuously productive(as long as the people managing it possess basic competence). If people want to corp hop and save their POS, they must unanchor it and interrupt operations. I have a feeling this was the reason alliance-hopping was classed as an exploit, while they didn't knock out corp-hopping in the same swoop.

Well, wardec's are meant for corp to corp, not corp to pod pilot. Pod pilots should be free to come and go as the please. However, being able to enter and exit a corp in seconds simply because you have no roles is bull****. The 24 hour timer should be universal to exiting a corp. I think that's an even middle ground. CCP needs to revisit session and combat timers...again. IE GCF should prevent docking in highsec entirely. Does it make sense that the authorities will shoot you but you can still dock? ...then again, that sounds like typical bureaucratic nonsense. lol
