We have a corp standing of 2.31 with Caldari Navy and I see that new people are not able to use Caldari Navy agents with that standing. does only the corp standing with Caldari state affect agents? does it not affect agent usage at all?

Caldari State faction can let you "jump ahead" in the "line" (or progression) of agents for Caldari empire corporations.
Let's say you have a CalState faction of 5.00, and decide to start working for the Ishukone Corporation (maybe you want to do some R&D). You have a 0.00 standing with Ishukone, but you can "substitute" your Caldari State standing of 5.00, meaning you can use Level III agents on your very first Ishukone Corp mission. Granted, you won't get to use Ishukone Level IV agents until your Ishukone faction gets to around 6.50, but still, those L3 missions generate faction a LOT faster than L1/L2.
That's the real advantage of doing those "important storyline" missions that pop up every so often. |

If I have -5 to a faction, would a corp standing of +5 boost my -5 to +5 or 0 ?
Most people will read this thinking it's part of my post, when its actually my sig :P

The only standing that counts for whether a player can use an agent is the player's own individual standing, their corporation (npc or player corp) standing makes no difference. Players without the required agent standing could run missions as a gang member with another player and build up their own standing as part of the gang, but the corporation standing doesn't get them individual access.
