i started my account little over 4 days ago and going through all the normal boring roles and starter missions.. bying myself a condor in the kisogo system and spending far to much on it i might add.. i was flying a fu missions you know the sort when you have to carry carbage around and deliver it to peeps 4 jumps away.. well i was bored of the safty of kisogo and decided to venture further..
i open the corp chat and started talking about were i might go to have a little adventure.. they said go to 0.0 sector.. expecting me to say know way... well thats just what i did in total i jump 54 times it one sitting.. while also being on corp chat.. every one betting how far i would get. well i made it,,, YES I MADE IT ALL THE WAY there were 250 peeps on corp chat so they will be able to vouch for this.. dont forget i have only a condor as my ship nothing else.. i did not know but when you get out there a condor power system cant handle long warp's.. so i had little choice but to turn my weopons off to give me extra flight time.. stopping and chating to miners on the way in there massive ships.. even run a fu times with them trying to get away from rats..
any way what i really wrote about. i docked in a private station an opened up the local chat.. and started talking.. the attatude was hostile from the begining..(i did expect this being in there space and all) so i continued to chat.. all i got in replys were as soon as you leave this station you are dead.. well i can understand they want an easy kill (battle ship vs condor) so i replyed and said i want to have a look at you battle ship before you kill me.. i had never seen one befor and wanted to bask in its glory.. so he said leave the station then.. so me being trusting left the station.. 2 seconds after i had left the station i had a lock onn.. then there came the first shot destroying my ship.. and do you know what i did not even care.. all i wanted to do was have a look at the battle ship.. so i went to move towards him and before i even could double click i was dead.. makes me sick that people go against there word like that.. it just sux.. any way i post the battle report..

No but seriously.. Your in a newbie training corp. You were mistaken for an alt spy. Hands down.
Most people that did what you did are just people that create new characters to go out and spy on alliances. To see what the opposition is like before an all out attack. Or to just be annoying.
So your the victim of many other people that took the same path you did for less benign reasons.

Sorry you lost your ship, but they did you a favor. 0.0 space is not the place for 4 day old characters to be learning the game. Everyone you see will have no compunctions about destroying you and there isn't really anything you can do about it.
Stick to empire space until you know how to fight or escape from anyone and have enough cash to lose several of whatever ships you happen to be flying at that time. If you want to see battleships, go sit at highway gates and they'll come though eventually.
I'll be back in game on monday, I could spend some time teaching you how to be better prepaired for your next 0.0 adventure. just convo me.

Being podded in 0.0 space happens a lot. It is a great problem if you lose an expensive ship, clone and implants but it is the newbie strength that you don't have much to lose.
Next time you want to try this don't put your money in a ship, keep the rookie one and instead put your money in clone relocation (it should cost you around 7k with basic clone), so when you die you repop close from where you are and can continue your trip. Clone can be relocated at the stations with medical centers. The station where you are is always in the list.
Don't forget to keep enough money to relocate in empire space when you are done of course .
It is your right to travel anywhere in 0.0, you pay your account like others, and there is no blockades one can't go through, provided you invest enough time trying and trying again.

Don't let the childish behaviour keep you from exploration. Unfortunately "Railgun Diplomacy" is rampant in EVE. But there are still some serious gamers who have not fallen in line with the gankfest masses and are mature enough to ask questions before shooting people. |

I'll second that. I love being in 0.0 space, and I'm in a frigate worth about 300k (including ammo and modules) about 90% of that time.
In any case, for most people in 0.0 space, it's not that you were in a cheap frigate, it's that you were in a starter corp (which is the case for most, if not all, alt spies). Keep playing the game and you'll probably wind up joining a player-run corp (which can be a huge pile of fun if you get along well with your corp mates), at which point you become a whole bunch less suspicious in the eyes of various 0.0 cartels.
I like your attitude about venturing into 0.0 space, though. Too many people are afraid to go there because of the various horror stories that get passed around. Keep it up, and you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of the game. If you're interested in going back into unsafe space, feel free to contact me in-game and I can give you some pointers. I'd also be happy to buy you a new Condor, if you'd like...

If you join a player corp you will be less likely to be podded right off the bat in most areas because you won't be thought to be an alt spy.

Those fellas in BKG are a bit jumpy after the experience they had with EVOL a couple weeks ago. ;)

flyertuck,
As long as you insure your frigate w/ platinum insurance and keep your clone up enough to cover your skill points. I say get out there and explore this game man. Don't hold back your own personal experience. If at all possible, try and get with a good corp that you can explore for. Shamrock

Well I have an interesting story from jsut two days ago - I decided to just go exploring east of eve near Jovian space just to see how asteroids and npc pirates are in that region - 0.0 area. Unforunately I stalled and lost my ship to an npc rat that spawned next to me when i took a peek inside a roid field. No matter, it was only a throw away frigate. However all i wished to do was dock into a nearby station a handful of jumps away.
So there I am in my pod jumping away and I make it to the station. I am just 20 secs away from docking in my pod and I get attacked my a pirate in a thorax. Let me repeat that - the guy attacks my pod.. so I warp away to the gate, and then realising that he may be right behind me (my pod is on fire), I attempt to warp to the second station there instead of waiting to slowly move to the warp gate. However he follows right behind to the second station (yes he chases a pod) and destroys my pod taking 40 mil worth of implants with it.
Now I am not crying about the loss of implants - I knew the risk I was taking. I just want to know what kind of pirate kills a pod floating in space with no dialogue being opened of any kind. I was surprised .. no honestly I was, simply because it would take a whole load of lack of balls honestly to kill a pod with no conversation to the target. Killing a ship and then its pod? Sure. Killing a floating pod? Heres the details - the npc first and then the man with the huge balls:

Moral of this story? All sorts of people exist in EVE, and when it comes to pirates you will have people with absolutely no dignity whatsoever. So when you head down to the depths of these unsecure places, remember that 'anything' will happen and there is no 'trust' involved here. Now the above 'man' is a veteran who started playing years back last summer like I did - another surprise in that he wasn't a newbie or some fragger.. he actually has played fromt he start. But his dirt attitude has always been this way. And really, if veterans play this dirty, really what are you to expect? Get ready for anything and fight fire with fire. Im pretty sure I saw a cannister somewhere near there that had the words 'Abandon hope all ye that enter here' at the gate. Seems about right.

--- 'The truth about low sec space is that it reveals humanity - the 'essence' of all the races, in its purest form. A place where Concord no longer polices or protects, 'human nature' thrives in all its distilled destructive self-serving glory. Welcome to hell ladies and gentlemen, welcome to what it really is to be human.'
