I had a rather good learning experience today but some of you may say that it was a bad one. For a start I have only been playing eve for the past 6 days. As you do when you are new you work towards getting a nice cruiser a thorax in my case. I joined a new corp that some of my friends started. one of the other members just got a moa so he thought it was about time we mined some 0.3 space. So I took my iteron along to haul and he had his moa decked out for mining (i think this was our first mistake) so we went to a 0.3 system and started to mine. About 2 mins after we started to mine a Big Raven battle ship warped in jammed my mateÆs moa and started to fire upon me. 10 sec's later both of us were in our cap's on our way home.
On the why home I decided to talk to this pirate that had killed use. I turned out that he was a really nice chap. We talked for a bit and I told him that I was a new player and was not really aware of pirates. He we pretty nice to me and even gave me 500,000 isk to buy a new hauler. For the next 2 hours told me how to do things better, where to mine, what to get, how to do certain thinks that I did not know how to do. He is a pirate yes but he takes his jobs as a pirate just like I take my jobs as a miner it is a job nothing more. I found it to be the best and quickest learning experience of the short 6 days I have been playing. I know I lost my hauler and my mate lost his moa but it was insured but it was well worth it for the knowledge that I gained. So I would like to say think you to the pirate that sort of took me under his wing and showed me how to do lots of things.

Yep that was a proper pirate, not a 12 year old with his dads(or Mums) Credit Card.
I'd like to thank him too whoever he is for helping out the new guys!
Take comfort in knowing that its probably some pimply faced twit, or 40 year old virgin, who gleens everytime mommy offfers to take them to needle point lessons |

Very nice and also smart since pirates need wealthy preys .

stuff like this gives me hope for the future.
Newbies that are adventurous and don't flip out when they lose their ships, and pirates who don't mind teaching newbs the ropes.

Props to the pirate who helped this guy out.
It'd be good to see more players take an hour or two to show random new players the ropes--that's also a good way to get recruits for your corp I think. --------------------

Well, the sooner he teaches newbies to become haulers carrying valuble stuff, the more targets he will have.
It's only logical.
'Course, it'll also mean he might have more people hunting him, but it's a tradeoff. --------------------

Professional thieves take only half of the goods. This way the robbed can continue their business. But this thought should not lessen what he did, that was very nice .
