Hi,
I know I have to apply the patch to another copy of my client, but how do I make that copy? You can't install it twice, can someone give me a blow by blow 'how to' or point me ant some linkage? (me = windows)
Thanks

Windows Start | run | cmd
cd \eve xcopy /s TQ Sisi
or more likely
cd "\program files\ccp" xcopy /s eve sisi
or do it by copying on the desktop

Just in case anyone else was wondering: 1) Navigate to your Eve folder (normally C:\Program Files\ccp\EVE). 2) Copy and paste it, so that within the folder ccp you have another folder called something like 'Copy Of Eve'. Be aware that this can be quite a large folder, up to 2GB, so make sure you have enough disk space, and that this might take a while to copy. 3) Rename this new folder to 'Singularity'. 4) Open up the folder and create a shortcut on your desktop to the file marked 'eve.exe'. Rename this to Singularity also. 5) Right-click on the shortcut and click properties. Under the shortcut tab go to the box marked 'Target'. After the last set of quotes add: /end /LUA:OFF /server:87.237.38.50 6) Close the box and double click to start Singularity. Log in as normal and accept any patch requests, double checking that the file location is the new folder. Sometimes it will be unable to patch automatically, in which case you will need to look up the patch details from the website.

I did all that, but the connection failed. Is the Test Server down at present?

It says 112 players are connected - but it doesn't let me become number 113.

It now keeps saying incorrect name or password. I know I am typing the correct name and password. Do we need a different login than on the normal server?

The Singularity server is based on mirrors of the Tranquillity server. However, these mirrors are only taken at rather long intervals, and so many new players find that on the test server their account simply doesn't exist. |

The last reported mirror was done on April 22nd using a mirror image from March 17th (from memory). There's a sticky thread in the Dev Forum.
If your accouont is newer than that you won't have an account on SiSi.....also if your password on Tranquility was changed after that, you MAY need to use the old password.

Important info if you are trying, there must be A SPACE between the last set of quotes and the server routing in the Target box.

I posted in the Game Development Thread, but there are like 3 other questions days old that have not been answered so I come to you all to help me since i have to leave for work in an hour and need to change skills. LEave it to me to Fak it up.
Well I knew it couldn't be that easy.
I think I messed up one step.
I created a new link straight to the desk top and did not create a seprate SiSi folder anywhere.
So I had 2 icons on my desktop and I changed the name of the new shortcut to SiSi.
I then brought up the properties of the SiSi shortcut and put in the proper add on to the target and I was able to log onto the test server.
I then logged off and went to my original shortcut and it also took me to the test server but the target in its properties was the same as the original target pre SiSi add on.
I have tried to reapply the old target in the properties and the apply did nothing.
So my question what do I need to do now to get back to Tranquility? Also how to do without loosing the SiSi shortcut if possible.

and then downloaded the patch and applied it to that directory - this means you don't have a TQ anymore rename the folder that you have there to be Sisi and install a TQ again. in future follow the instruction in the game dev forum - is makes it so much easier
and no not everyting is 100isk - only normal stuff - you cannot buy faction stuff for that price, - and all the cool kids hang out in fd-mlj - though you wont want to if your doing the EA|FW thing

First thank you for the help!!!
Second, not everyone understands all the intricacies of computer lingo. I got to SiSi so I followed something right? I created a shortcut to EVE.exe on the desktop and named it SiSi to me that was a SiSi folder, yes wrong but innocent none the less.
So here are instructions for a "non-computer literate" person...boy I hope this is right.
1- Go to My Computer - Program Files - Choose the CCP folder - right click the EVE.exe icon - create shortcut
2- In empty space in the program files folder right click and choose create new folder - right click folder and change name to SiSi - drag the new EVE.exe shortcut and drop it in the new folder.
3- Right click new folder and select move - move to desktop
4- Go to desktop and open the SiSi folder - Right click the .exe file and choose properties - in the section labled target click after the last " in the original target and press space bar once and then paste the following...
/end /server:87.238.37.50
Slade
P.S. Still downloading the new client. SLade crosses fingers it will be completed soon
P.S.S. Logging on now to change skill. Wooo . and still have the SiSi exe file. Thanks RaTTus!!!

Singularity (SiSi) was mirrored again this week - the image was from 5th May and applied on 20th May.
If you had an active account on 5th May, then you'll have an active account on SiSi. ______________________ Isn't it time you learned to fight back? Agony Unleashed Home of the PvP University. |
