The torp nerf made torp damage in line with CCP's idea that close in weapons do greater damage, ranged weapons do less. I'm ok with that though arguably its cheapened the value of a Raven.
But why then, does it seem, I am still getting hit by NCP torps out at 100km for monster damage? Are NPC weapons nerfed when player weapons are, or do they have different weapons?

they are cosmetically torpedoes but in reality the npcs use weapons, capactior and have lock range far in excess of player abilities ___ Eve Players are not very smart. Support Killmail Overhaul

Doesn't that beg the question .. if player weapons get nerfed, so should NCP?
Actually it begs another question too; why doesn't faction weapons that players buy, act like they do when fitted on NPC ships?
Shouldn't faction torps players buy exhibit the same range they do when fired by the NPC ship firing them. If not how are they faction (from a role playing perspective)?
I lean towards saying CCP, if you're going to nerf player weapons, you should ensure the NPC weapons are consistent.

You're saying this like NPCs are a major danger.

the npcs are so dumb and I doubt they enjoyed the hitpoint boosts that bringing them up to par is unrealistic and impractical especially in lieu of imbalances in many t2 ships
as for making faction ammo behave like npc weapons  ___ Eve Players are not very smart. Support Killmail Overhaul

They're not firing faster than they used to either though, are they?

NPCs have weapons that players can only dream about. Can be seen very well with missile based weaponry.
I think it's to make it a bit harder.
The only thing that's missing is an NPC Caracal firing torps and commandeering 5 Ogres xD

NPCs don't fly caracals. They fly ships with same hulls, but different types altogether. Like Blood Raider ships vs normal Amarr and all that.

they are! i get killed 20 times in my domi before i can manage to finish one lvl 3 mission!!
and the answer to all is: the most npcs are officer fitted uber-ships, but unfortunately, its low-quality-one-time-use-only-officer-fit so it doesnt drop. _________________________________________________________
