This small things always make me more happy than big features. Nice job.
Especially i like the button on 'modify order' window. I missed that so much!
Quote:highlight the market orders that are in your route. Can be useful, but much more useful would be >>> highlighting our own market orders, so we can easily see them in tones of market orders no matter if you are in station or outside of it. Finding and fixing sell orders was always harder, coz buy orders are green if you are in station the order is placed.
And the >>> DOUBLECLICK on market order, or SHIFT+CLICK in the wallet->orders window would be the most beautiful gift for many of us! The order window is to check & fix the prices, so making there 'show info' on doubleclick is misunderstanding. |

Good point. Own orders ids could be fetched once - when the first market request go (and they are not fetched already), or when orders window is opened(like now). The difference is that client will fetch ids only when they are not fetched already.
If you will add order the id will be pushed onto ids stack. Even if order will fulfill the id can be still stored in array coz nothing wrong will happen.
I dont know how exactly it works, but this could be extra 1 more query when you first open the market just after loading into the game. Next one will be taken like it is done now - by opening orders window or by placing order(we have to know new placed order id);
Best wishes for all fmale in universe (including me :p) and again thnx for good work Karkur!

CCP Karkur, could You satisfy our curiosity about this post? https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=909039#post909039
I know you told earlier its not so easy, but we would like to know how it compare to the other idea than sending tones of queries each time.
After i look into my API i realized one more thing... all I wrote is 'probably' coz I dont know exactly how the mechanism works on the server.
When client ask for market, server know who is asking for it. Also when orders are taken from DB, for sure you know who created each order. So putting the flag: 1 - your order, 0 - not your order, when sending back to client shouldn't be resource expensive. Assuming - you don't have to send player ids (you said you don't want to do that);
So after this 2 ideas: - adding flag your/not your to returned market list - cashing orders ids once (if not cashed) during first market query or when opening wallet>orders and modifying that list when changing market orders only in the client.
I would really, really appreciate the answer for our speculations and ideas. Best wishes :] |

CCP karkur wrote:That's a game design requirement.... if I recall correctly, Hilmar (our CEO) and Reynir (one of the founders) have never agreed on this and there have been some heated discussions about it
They don't agree for sending order owner or they don't agree to highlight own market orders? Could you plz clear that?
If they don't agree for sending owners i can understand why, here i can see many reasons to not agree about that.
But if they don't agree to highlight own market orders - i don't understand, coz we all know what order is our own. Highlight would be only help, so the search in tones of orders is not so hard and time consuming. And like many of us think - this probably shouldn't lead to server load and sending order owners ids.
Grey Azorria wrote:Instead of having your own orders automatically highlighted, put a button on the market screen 'highlight own orders' or something like that. Server problems (hopefully ) solved. So you will force us to extra click each time? Pffff.... 1. it will not resolve query problem 2. it will not help (well... if you like the old PI clicking orgy, then well....) 3. if you will have >100 orders to fix many times a day, then good luck in 1 extra click for highlight ^^ |

CCP karkur wrote:sorry, I was talking about whether or not you should know who owns each order. Uff..... what a relief. I was worry that they dont like the highlight idea :D I don't need the other player name. For smaller items u can always buy 1 unit and you will have owner in transactions :]
Oh! BTW! Now we must copy the player name from transaction row and search for it manually. Would be cool to add option 'show player info' under submenu when you click transaction in wallet->transactions.
>> Also could you tell us how about fixing the wallet->orders window so doubleclick or shortcut+doubleclick the order will open the fix-price window insteed of item info window (which is useless there)?
Is there any chance for such tiny thing that would make marketer life much more easy? Its quite annoying when we have to rightclick->aim on the change market order option and left click hundreds times a day :]
Oh, and again I would like to thank you for your answers and time u spend to write them! |

I have a feeling that soon double clicking an order will not open the "show info" window "Feeling"? "Soon"? "Wink"? You are such a tease.
Hmm... yes.... feels mystery... Actually after you write that i wasn't happy because it can mean, that marketers will not have easier life then they has now. Nothing comes to mind what could appear after clicking market order - if not modify order and info window, than what that could be useful?
Will that make marketers life easier?

But still I think there should be shortcut for fix market order :]
Quote:Click == Details; Shift+Click == Modify; Plz! plz! plz! plz!
U could go further. There is always such route: view & modify (or only view if no neet to modify). Never had to modify without viewing. So maybe using 'modify order' option should open the modify window & open this item market window. BUMP! This would make our life extremely easy :D ONE CLICK PER ORDER! |

What about showing the summed up m-¦ of a selection range in a container at the bottom of it?
About the comparison tool and having a place in the Neocom for it: Please make it a tool to easily query an item database: To look up things, instead of hoping that something is in the contracts which can't be found in the market. It would be great if you could compare ships too.
Thanks alot! This is why I can't wait EVE Launcher to be released! This should allow CCP to do many small submits and not waiting for bigger patch :]
Still I hope someday they will fix the character changing mechanism, coz now it suxx like hell. Reloading whole client to change char?! WTF! |

I just red the patch notes!
Quote:- A GÇ£View market detailsGÇ¥ button has been added to the GÇ£Modify OrderGÇ¥ window. - Double clicking on an order will now open up the market details for that item type.
You have no idea how I'm thankful for this.
But I would also like to get back to one thing we was talking about earlier and one thing that is in added as a bugreport some time ago.
Quote:Shift+click on market order in wallet->orders window to open 'fix order price' window. Can this wish come true? I believe your sticky note with that is still on your screen :]
Quote:Problem on character create/customize on double screens. I wrote about that few times. My request on that on bugreports was timed-out. Please look on that and feel my pain: Photo 1 Photo 2 Could u plz plz plz include camera offset for character recustomization in the same way as for ships in space?

CCP karkur wrote:I'll also suggest the camera offset as a character creation improvement... the camera in the character creator is quite complex, so it might be tricky, but something that can be looked into if it gets the right priority Would be nice, because players like me can't use customization (have to fix window resolution to do that). Same problem is when walking in CQ. The 'walking pointer' is always on center. Posted as #113660 bugreport. Filtered-timedout. |

So Zedolf (lol, almost like "Adolf"), in your opinion they shouldn't make helpful stuff (like lightning orders on our route - thnx for that) just because someone can use it for botting? Pffffff..... Or maybe they should put this on the market background to make bots life harder?
Explorer (kiss for u :*) said that there should be "100x likes button". I think there should be also dislike button.

Syri Taneka wrote:Maybe I'm missing something, but how would highlighting a given player's market orders for that player alone increase botting activity? The only thing this change would do is make it easier for a player (who doesn't have the ability to compare data like a machine) to spot their own orders in a large group without having to make visual comparisons between the wallet and market. Most bots in eve work on recognizing colors in given xy point on the screen - Macro clikers. Making new separate color for own market orders will make it easier for macro bots to recognize them on the screen. They did that without colors, so they will do it after adding it. But still this doesnt change my opinion that this will be good move for us - nonbot marketers.

Wow, ad Hitlerum already? I never said they shouldn't add it because it can be used for botting, I said it could possibly make it easier to make bots, which could in turn increase the amount of bots in use. You even say so yourself: Seloena wrote: Most bots in eve work on recognizing colors in given xy point on the screen - Macro clikers. And because of that, I ask that they consider how they do it (and that they keep in mind, that it will possibly make it easier to create and use bots) - not that they consider whether or not they should do it. Well, please accept my apologies. I definitely misunderstood your statement.
And the "Adolf" was only association, so don't take it too much serious :)

Syri Taneka wrote:Another thing:
I seem to remember back in the old days an Aggro timer being in the top left of the screen (much like the session change timer is now) which would show you how long you had to wait to dock or jump after performing some sort of hostile action. I can't, for the life of me, find an option in the escape menu to get it back, and it's really annoying to not know this figure without keeping meticulous track of the time outside of the game.
So... either could someone point out to me where to turn on such a feature, or could something be devised that works like the current session change timer (IE a little circle, perhaps in red, counting down the time to interface with a station or gate)? I don't know nothing about agression timer, but the session change timer can be switched on in general options (show session change timer). But most times was shortened, so sometimes i don't even notice it ^^ |

Bloodpetal wrote:If you want to make this sexy (and everyone hate me) - Don't even force us to Right Click > Edit Price to change our price. Just let us drag and drop and .01 under the market order we move it under. So if an item is being sold for on the market : 10 ISK 11 ISK 12 ISK 13 ISK (My Order) And I drag my 13 ISK order under the 10 ISK order, it sets it to 9.99 ISK. (Without requiring any further actions.) Some people might consider this a total change to market gameplay. It might also make it easier for botting. I'm sure it's a radical game design decision - but it does save on Carpal tunnel!
From 1 person point it would be nice, but as you will look at as global point it is horrible idea! shift+click would be huge help, but such thing would make everyone drag & drag & drag. This would make market more aggressive, but also will lead to much more market requests, and that for sure will have impact on server performance.
==================================================================
But there is 1 more thing that would help us much more then everything! When we open the fix price window whole price should be selected! This way we can use scroll to give the price +/- 0.01, but also we will be able to put new price from the beginning (writing will automatically clear old price).
Most of our actions is +/- few 0.01 ISK (depend on order type) or write all price from the beginning. Now to perform both actions we must click the field to focus it or select whole price in that field.
So plz simply focus & select what is there -> this will make our live much easier. Easy thing that would be more than helpful :)

U have green lines that are connecting centers of probes and the cross of them show exact centered point between them.
Also I don't understand your problem. Im exploring quite much and I don't remember situation that my probe went "somewhere". And why the hell you use cube for probe navigation?! 90% of actions on probes is to hold inner arrow and move probe closer to the center. Rest is moving ALL probes at once UP or DOWN, so again 1 arrow needed. Cubic pointer make it only harder, because it hard to recognize where you move it.
Also, after I red your post, I'm pretty sure you don't use SHIFT while scanning, because it would prevent you from "loosing" your probe in space. Hold down SHIFT while moving 1 probe will lead to move all at once.

Karkur, my dear.
Do you know something about fixing camera pointer in CQ and camera offset in Character Customization window for dual screen users? We was talking about that in this topic some time ago and we reopened my bugreports for it.
Any news? Is anyone taking care about that in CCP?
I ask coz I have problems with making my makeup properly :p
