Trying to arrange weekly mining op's for my corp, but having issues with too low attendence.
How are you guys doing it exactly, like giving some percentage to the participants for joining in or ?
Also, perhaps some of you are having a much bigger picture as in mining ops serve the purpose of producing specific things like ships for members, and how corps gets a share aswell on that.
Post your own organization models, or think of new ways to do it, and enlighten me :)

Meh, I'll bite.
In general, people will not show up for something if they don't stand to receive any benefits from it. I would say the best way to get your attendance up is to try to be as transparent as possible as to what you need those minerals/ice for. Even if you're just trying to get the corp wallet some money, you might as well tell them. Hell, even if you're just doing it to make money for yourself, you should at least have the decency to lie to them and say it's for some sort of greater good.
Drinking games and vent/ts tend to go well with mining ops too, you might try that.

just tell them they are mining ore so that you can build them ships for the big beer fleet your going to have in a couple weeks.
that might get them interested. My views and opinions are my own.

Corp ops are for the corp allways. Thus if you dont participate, your not part of the corp. Just tell ppl, if they want to hangabout, grab lazers and onto the belt, otherwise they wakeup in noobcorp the next morning.
As for giving them something for it, your running the corp for them, thus they can help if need be. The thing they are receiving is all the admin stuff you/directors are pulling for the corp.
If you dont get them into it, it only means your corp is not providing any fun, or any activity for its members and you should consider some changes, and option to disband is not excluded.

Have you asked them why they don't come?
I'll tell you what I do but that may not work for you.
For one thing we buy ore from our miners. We have a formula for it but it basically means we buy ore for slightly more than the price miners could get for it from direct selling to the market. The flip side of that is that we expect as many people as possible to come to a corp mining op once a week. The op is at the same time every week and basically everyone who is on during that timespan is expected to come (unless, of course they're out in 0.0 p.issing hot lead into the skulls of our enemies). The mins from the corp op are given to the corp free of charge.
Obviously by doing that we end up with a buttload of minerals so we do something with that. We produce T1 and T2 modules for the market and the money from those sales goes back into corp. We also build ships for corp mates at "cost" price.
With all that selling we end up with a buttload of money so part of that goes back into expanding operations. Part of it is used for other purposes like a hull reimbursement fund, buying/making "shared" resources like corp miners and haulers that can be lent out to players, helping corp mates get set up with skill books for expensive skills we want them to train (ice refining, capital skills....). The ways to spend money are endless and the more ISK you have available the more ways you can find to redistribute the wealth.
But the basis to making all of this work is having a group of active miners. The miners see these gears turning and they know that they're the ones driving the machine. It gives a lot of them a kick. The feel needed (and they are) and they see the results of their work leading to good things that benefit everyone. That keeps spirits high and it keeps people interested in participating.
Hope that helps.
(posted with an alt to discourage anyone from getting the brilliant brain-wave to try disrupting that chain).

If you have bounty rats in the systems you are mining in, have a couple of guys in Battleships and in the fleet rattle through the system chanining all the rats. That way everyone earns isk at the same time as the corp scooping loads of lovely minerals.
Sharing the l00t and salvage at the end will also help keep spirits up and make the op a little more fun.

If your not giveing them a Full cut of the minerals or paying them the full falue of the minerals, or useing the minerals to buils them "free" ships or selling the minerals to buy a corp bp that everyone can use then your ripping them off and being a jerk.
Dont forget that a corp is just a social group and being friendly with each other should come first.
If you need to raise some money to pay for stuff like wars or offices then tell them about it and why or they will just feel like your ripping them off and may think of quiting your corp. You could also try doing a mission night as mining isnt much fun for most.

Am I the only one who is shocked this thread hasn't been epically trolled yet?
But yes, I agree with what others have said, mainly;
1) Give people something, ie a percentage of the ISK made once the minerals are sold 2) Be open about what you are using the minerals/ISK for, set your corp collective goals and work toward them (be it corp dreads, jump freighter, mothership, whatever) 3) If people still don't contribute, kick them

well we do it like this: if you are a active member of the corp and contribiute in op's (pvp/plex/mining+++) you get perk's. the perk's are ship at mineral cost even some ships fore free, cap ship sponsored by corp (hate the private owned ones due to having to use a carrot to get em into a fight).
basicly make the members feel that they are a part of a machinery and get rewards that follows, by doing so you get the best turnout and they themselves keep disipline and activety high.
PS: never use the corp as a extended vallet or make the members feel they work fore "you", shure thing to make internal drama and members disgruntled.

It depends on the corp and reason for the op.
An old corp I was in provided free ammo and mods and discounts on ships. People were willing to mine to help build mineral stocks for that.
We also alternated ops: - Corp gets all mins; - Corp buys the mins from the miners; - Miners get the mins.
That way some days people earned cash for mining, some days they got mins for their own projects, some days they were donating their time to the corp.
Even the pvper's in the corp helped out with some of these, either guarding or, in some cases, slapping mining lasers on BS's or unleashing flocks of drones from carriers.
In some cases, the organiser would run raffles or lotteries for prizes during the op.
At the end of the day, the results of the op were posted in corp mail so people knew what we had managed to do. When you post "50,000,000 trit" even the pvper's know that the op was a success as there is enough goodies to build a lot of discounted ships.

A lot of great tips and tricks here, and they have been noted.
New mining organization models still welcome.
