I still think my idea over aiming for the head holds a lot of merit. I know what i'm talking about I have all the skins unlocked in cod4 and I own in CSS, getting headshots all the time. It cannot really be that hard it RL can it?!
NO.

Plus. You're entirely aware that if you get hit you're going to die, and no respawns or "play another game". Which means that if someone shoots at you then "taking cover" has MUCH higher priority than "making sure that my return fire is super accurate". "General vicinity of the target" is about as close as I've come in the terms of aiming whenever I've been under fire. At least until they were well and securely suppressed (having a PBV302 and that 20mm Autocannon sure helped) ______________________________________________ -You can never earn my respect, only lose it. id love to see them make a Shotgun Shell style round for the Abrams. being that its a smooth bore 120mm it could in theory work. and shotgun in a cannon isnt new as an idea.

Advances in weaponology can only pull out so much efficiency from physics. The shotgun is going to stay the best CQB weapon there is for a long time. The ammo might change but the weapon concept will stay the same.
The 1911 is not the best CQB weapon around by a long shot. However, with over 100yrs of multi-environmental combat use, it has built a solid reputation for reliability. New weapons with the same caliber but higher capacities, simpler builds, better accuarcy, or all of the above aren't hard to find but still have to go against the 1911's track record. New generations are putting these weapons through their paces in the law enforcement circles with great results. But law enforcement isn't military and so many still turn to the 1911.
Oh and to the combat issue dont forget becoming one of the wounded. Being winged by a round or shrapnel can't be fixed by a medic tossing you a medpac or taping you to 100% in less than a minute. Running downhill in 100lbs of gear in a game doesn't cause you to faceplant and roll the rest of the way down the dune. Headshots are actually fairly rare. Most combat deaths since the dawn of firearms have been due to bleed out..and not the fast way either.

Oh you mean THIS? Its the M1028 which both the US and UK have been using for a while now. Watch the entire vid. The end shows a shot in real time on several knock down targets.

Problem with this tank canister stuff is that your average soldier cannot carry a tank around, yet alone "110 lbs of armor" (surfin). So its not as pratical as my suggestion as to aim for the head.

Other way around... the tank carries 4 crew
And the 110 lbs isn't just the armor... that's not including weapon, ammunition, and other gear that kinda jangles around throwing your aim off everytime you move

Christ I would suggest a cluebat to the head, but RSI would result before the clue got smashed into your head...
I don't know about the about the US forces but the UK forces teach what our instruters taught what they called the "shotgun" method if you came under fire 2 rounds in the general direction of the tageget to try and suppress him while you went to ground them went for aimed fire.
Since unlike you surfin has actualy recived fire why don't you shut the **** up? ========= "I am not saying there should be capital punishment for stupidity, but why can`t we just take the safety labels off everything and let the problem fix its self |

Me thinks Zephyr should try playing woodsball paintball some time.
My A-5 weighs about 12 lbs and has a flashlight and red dot sight on it.
My vest with 6 pods, field radio, squeegie (sp?), Air tank, and towel weighs about 10-12 lbs.
My T-68 pistol is about 4 lbs. Hip mounted 100 round 2 pack pod set is another pound (yes I carry a ton of ammo.)
Altogether around 27 pounds. Take that plus your own body weight and SPRINT across the field while 4-5 people shoot at you and see how well your heads are. Yeah I get head shots all the time in TF2 but I'll be damn lucky to get one in the field unless the other guy is stupid enough to not use cover. Same concept, shoot for the body as it's a larger target than somebodies little bobbing head.
And my **** is light compared to marine armor. I bought a flak vest (good against shrapnel and knives but not small arms) several years back that weighed about 35 lbs. My friend showed me his vest with the plates and it weighed probably about 50-60 lbs.
Damn I fed the troll.......

And he probably thinks that theres an overkill perk in reallife that allows him to wield an m16 and SAW like he would an m16 and pistol.

in some tactical angles a body shot and a wound is better then a headshot and an instant kill anyway, a wounded soldier is a drain on resource and logistics while a corpse is clean it up later and keep on fighting.

This was true in past wars... World War 2, Korea, lesser in Vietnam due to the overabundance of guerrilla forces, not at all true against the extremists we're fighting today. Today our enemies really don't give a **** about the guy next to them because that guy's apparently getting 72 virgins and rivers of honey, and the wounded guy is probably lying on a grenade just waiting for your medical personell to get close so he can kill them too.
*Edit: Overkill perk

A buddy of mine hit an Iraqi in the head with an M203 round... I didn't witness it but apparently it took off the guy's jaw
It was at a bridge at the Tigris river, a reflex shot when he was changing magazines... the hajji popped up with an AK at about 10 yards away under the bridge and that was the only thing he had a round chambered in (too close for teh round to arm but hey, can't argue with the results)

Good buddy, going for the headshots. Even in a tough situation. Unlike you however who makes up rather weak excuses as to why you cannot hit a head.
Your buddy hit the guys jaw because hes a pro, unlike you.
