hey i want to do a report on the eve denizens for a project, but the subject matter is touchy. I am worried that if i post religious and ethical questions on the forum i will be labeled a "flamer" or "troll".
i wish to use this forum to collect information, is it ok to do that?
My only stipulation would be that no offensive or defensive remarks were made on my thread, because this would make me into a flamer.

Maybe
Vague questions get vague answers.

Given the lack of Eve content, it would need to go in Out-Of-Pod: however, that sub-forum has a specific rule against your topic: Discussions about politics and religion not allowed, there are other websites with forums for these topics.
Looks like you will need to do your research else where.

People have posted surveys here before. As a teacher, I've had students give presentations on their favorite computer games, trying to shoehorn them into whatever the assignment asked for, and generally their grades weren't great... but go ahead and try it!
And yes, I believe in Chribba.

Sorry OP, but this thread should be locked, because people start posting blasphemous comments, which hurt my religions feelings.

The two big no-nos of this forum are RL politics and religion. Pretty much anything else goes (in OOPE- the off topic forum), except for those two subjects. ------

I wouldn't answer the question, if that answers your question about asking that question.

Going specifically on the spelling and punctuation used, yes. god was a cat my aunt had. He was the cat that kept the other cats in line, and he died a couple years ago due to old age. He was survived by another cat, called Damn it, you can imagine the funny looks my aunt got when she called the cats for dinner. As for the actual subject, no comment as this is not the forum for discussion, and I have a rather long winded answer to that. -------------------------------------------------- Everyone is born right handed, only the great over come it.

OP, I suggest you make a real survey (with grammar, punctuation, etc) on SurveyMonkey.com, and just put a link to it here with the usual blurb about "Hey guys I've had this school project for three months and it's due tomorrow and I just started working on it today please please do my survey!". A link off-site would be less sensitive than a discussion right here.

Well ain't that a loaded question It's a well-intentioned post, although it will inevitably be locked
I have to say yes, although I am not very religious. I believe that there is a God, and that he generally does not interfere (physically) in this world. I also believe in 13.8B year old universe and all the scientifically accepted principles (evolution, etc). I just think that religion and science can mesh pretty well if they are willing to compromise a bit on certain issues.
Also, please don't flame/bait this guy's thread, he means well

Questions or comments that can be considered ethically offensive are removed from the forums. As there is always the question and difference in opinion of what can be considered 'ethically offensive' it is always wise to stay clear of posting any thing religious or political in nature. You may not have the intention of creating a troll or flame but others will not see it as such and may take offense to the question or comment.
With that said, I believe it is time to lock this thread.
